    3:58 OH MY GOD. ;A;

  • I hate cicada wasps because they are so damn large and when I see them I run for my fking life!

  • my charmander would so pwn them both

i live in torrance california does that help?

  • is that spider poisones to humans?

  • That is amazing! I'm scared crapless of spiders when I see them in my yard (mostly becasue all I ever see are widows and garden spiders) but your little Argiopes amaze me. I never knoew spiders could make killing seem almost... elegant. Do you ever see the little crab spiders hanging around?

  • Like this comment if you watched the whole thing because your interested in insects fighting, cause i know i am !

  • I HATE HATE HATE CICADAS! there so creepy and wierd but i like the sounds they make

  • The spider wins, hands down.

  • Do you also own a pet spider like Aragog on Harry Potter???

  • FUCK YEAH SPIDER. I hate cicada killers with a passion. This spider deserves a medal.

  • spider was like "damn, caught me a damn attack chopper! Better use caution."

wasp was like "finally I have met my match in battle, I shall die with honor!"

  • CHOMP nomnomnomnomnom. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • talk about taking a knife to a gun fight. Wasp was like " I gotta a stinger" and the spider was like" did I mention I shoot web out of my ass?"

  • mmmm numm numm numm numm

  • burn that shit!

  • i hate cicada killers they fly around and kill bees on the flowers around my house the big hornet comes in and grabs the bees sometimes it takes butterflies too :(

  • the wasp is like chillin

  • I had these spiders around my house making webs in bushes ..are they dangerous?

  • @furiousjuffowup No, absolutely no. They aren't aggressive, and their venom isn't dangerous for us. Also they can be handled easely, they bite rarely...

And they are very nice, quicly excelent hunters of big isects...

  • @orionintelligence I'm very afraid of spiders. I just couldn't take one being on my arm ..even if it was a millimeter long ... I appreciate your help. How about spiders that look like a black widow but are not black..they are brown without any symbols or discolorations on their back. No hair. They look like as if their back was wrapped in leather. .I'm just really afraid ...I will stay awake for 5 hours if I see one in my room..just on the floor..I start thinking way too much..about them lol..

  • @furiousjuffowup Well, from what you tell me these spiders should be "Domestic Tegenaria": they are not aggressive, not dangerous for us. They can bite only if cornered... Here in Italy we have 3 species of dangerous spiders: Violin spiders, Malmignatta (italian black widow) and Taranta Pugliese (a wolf spider class specie). Usually they are all not aggressive, some crazy likes to handle them, but not me!!!

The first 2 have a dangerous poison, instead of the last is aggressive...

  • that thing come by my house i kill it

  • darn i need a new pokemon

  • @jard711 haha

  • 1:24 epic mad face from the cicada killer! :)

  • @ohiogo363 haha Nice!!!

  • Wasp:Oh hell no!!

Spider closing in and grind's .....

    wasp:NOOOOOOO!

    the end.

  • Smart spider, disabled the wasp's stinger first before going in to inject it's poison.

  • Spider: haha what are you going to do now

    Wasp:DAMN YOU!!!!

  • It looks like wasp or a hornet rather than a cicada

  • @WillTheUnhuggable The Cicada Killer is a type of wasp. One of the largest wasps around!!!

  • @IloveSPIDERZ We have cicada killers in front of our house. I occasionally see them carrying a cicada off to their nest or wherever they take them. They are HUGE. This gave me pleasure lol.

  • @WillTheUnhuggable Cicada Killer Wasp dumb ass

  • owned! :P

  • well this confirms my suspicion ive been having over the last 3 or 4 years. my older brother found that spider in our backyard once and it was easily 2 or 3 times bigger than this one... havent seen one since though.

  • @TetrisAnimeOtaku I wouldn't say that... I have seen extremely large ones before, but not too much larger than this one. Even this one was larger than average.

  • @IloveSPIDERZ cant say im 100% sure it was the same one though. it was black and yellow but the body was a bit different shape and pattern

  • your videos are interesting. I hate spiders but watching videos of them don't scare me :)

  • @p00nedlol2 Thanks!

  • Wow, I could watch these all day. Used to see them all the time when we were kids, but not so much anymore. Not sure where they all went.

  • That's one overachieving orb-weaver! Usually the wasp would kill her, no contest. Good for you, spider! Quite a beauty, too. I love spiders.

  • haha Me too! (obvoiusly!) This one is my favorite out of the orb weavers for this reason. The Aranues spiders are also good, but they don't usually sit full veiw in the middle of the web all day. Which is what makes these spiders stunning to find.

  • the spider was like, This is my time, Im closing in, the cicada is done

  • Amazing how she got fast at webbin him up

  • I know! It's amazing she even succeeded too!

  • wow it was quite small like said b4 it looked huge when it was making her eggsack ;p

  • pretty scary, damn i hate spiders.

  • Lol i thought the wasp would win..

  • Honestly, I thought it would too!

  • 0:47

Wasp- "Whats going on! I cant see!" Haha.

This is truely amazing footage! Where do you usually observe events like these?

  • This one was in the Albany Pinebush Preserve in Upstate New York. Preserves are a great place to look for these.

  • And THANKS!

  • hey, this is not a VS. lier >.>

  • What do you mean? Of course it is!

  • wow this is hard to find! finding it just start the process. amazing :P

  • Hey, Thanks! It is very surprisingly hardto get!

  • I saw a spider like that yesterday on the side of my neighbors pool

  • Pretty neat, huh?! I love these ones!

  • Yeah, lol we caught it and observed it for alil while and let it go, and im thinking of looking for it again b4 it gets cold and dies...i even took a badass picture of it and put it on my myspace xD

  • Nice! Yeah, look for the egg sac too! Those are also pretty neat, and large! I have a few vids of one of these making one. Check it out!

  • Oh, i checked to see if it was still where i released it and yup itz still in my neighbors backyard. : )

Havent found any eggs yet tho

  • Yeah, the eggs are pretty hard to find. They camouflage very nicely into the plants it might be hanging on. The Argiope spiders tend to stay in one place all summer if they get enough food, and are not disturbed.

  • Well yesterday i grabbed it to see if it would bite and it didn't and my girlfriends sister freaked out!! lol I thought that was funny but yeah, later that night i checked to see if it was still out in the open and i did not see it..i hope it didnt move becuz i touched it, or do they just hide for the night and come out in the day again? I hav to look for it again :D

  • Yeah, try looking again. They do sometimes move when disturbed, but ussually not to far. Though I have seen one of them move like 60 feet from her orriginal spot.

  • i had one of these as a pet for a few months

it stopped eating after a while and died

    =\

i gave it all kindsa stuffs too, baby lizards, roaches, the occasional Fly for irony

  • haha

  • That is beautiful. I especially like when she starts spinning the wasp to cocoon it. You should check out some of my Argiope Aurantia vids, I just got a Nikon D90 capable of HD video, and have been taking them at work.

  • really? What state, because I really need to find some this year, but New York right now is proving to be a little to wet and harse for these spideys. I personally think the 3 hail storms killed alot of them.

  • I am in southern Indiana. I work on an organic veggie farm, and we have a greenhouse infested with them. It started out as one egg sack a three years back, and ever since there's more and more. No significant predators in there and it's warm, so they live clear through November. We have become quite attached to the little gals, despite it looking like an arachnaphobes nightmare. They are fascinating little creatures. The controlled environment does wonders for them.

  • It really does though. Think about how much pests they are eating! Whenever I find those stupid Japanese beetles, I throw them right in their webs.

  • I once observed a dumb little yellow jacket buzzing around an orb web as if it were inspecting it. I thumped it right into the web! LOL!

  • Haha! I do that all the time!!! It's so fun!

  • Thanks for uploading all the great videos of Spiders. My 2 year old son loves spiders and constantly points at the computer and shouts (Bej) His name for Spider! Im thinking of getting a Chilean Flame spider, I have seen your videos of Flame. Are they hard to look after? Can you point me in the direction of a good website for advice? If I do get on I want to make sure I get everything right.

    Thanks

  • Oops that should say Chilean Fire Spider!

  • Sorry this is late. Chilean Fire Tarantulas are pretty much the same as Rose Hairs. Very easy to care for. The best site I can give you is this one. Whoever has one, and posts a video on it, just ask. They will give you more relyable info than petstores or most websites. Any other questions, just ask me. :)

    Thanks for watching my vids!!!

  • these videos would look awesome in HD.

  • Yeah they would, this one especially!

  • lol. the cicada killer was like "watch yourself bitch i got a huge ass stinger", and the spider was just like "naw" and tied that shit up. pownage.

  • I can't believe the spider did that. 5/5 but i would give a million/5

  • Hey, Thanks!

  • 5/5 the spider lock is the best

  • Thanks! Thanks also for subscribing!

  • Thanks man!

  • Oh my gosh! That is some amazing footage! :-)

  • Thank you so much!! Tell your freinds if you like! lol

  • AMAZING!!! Mother Nature always puts on a good show. Thanks for sharing your video.

  • Thank you for the compliment, and thank you for watching!

  • bravo!!

i imagined that orb-weavers would escape as soon as hearing the buzz of wasps.

can u plz write down the scientific name of "cicada-killer wasp", too? (for the benefit of foreign naturalists)

  • Thanks for watching, and I will write down the scientific name. I will include it in my title, and my information on this video. Thanks!

  • thanks a lot, my friend!

i am not familiar with this group of wasp.

now google taught me that they do not live in my country.

instead, we have "cicada-killer hornet" (Vesapa crabo) in jpn. :)

  • Argiope meets immense wasp ... fantastic shot

  • Thanks alot for watching!!!

  • O_O
