looks like a little brown bat (or a yuma, they are friendlier)... but its a bad idea to keep bats you find for several reasons: they may have rabies (most bats die of rabies quickly but behaviors include: erratic flight, chillin on the ground, out in the day time, ect), but just like us it may have been woken up and couldn't go back to sleep! not lost at all! Also, they can become dehydrated... however i commend your concern :) thanks for releasing the bat in due time!

1) Any animal can have rabies. Dogs are most acceptable of them. More of a reason not to have a dog.

2) All animals dehydrate.

Animals are suppose to be domesticated. That doesn't mean we turn them into what we want them to be. Rather we use ourselves as something they can evolve comparable towards. What better way to insure survival than to be like us? Talk, compute, reason, invent, and build.
