  • Hey can anyone help me I just got my honda VLX yesterday and im looking to get 12 inch apes . do I need to cut the wires or make them longer? Sorry if it sounds Like a dumb question I just want to know before I do it thanks.

  • @salmeron7 If the bars are higher than the stock bars then, yes. You will need to cut the wires and splice longer wires. It is actually very easy. Just cut the wires somewhere that you can splice them and hide the splices if possible. The best thing is to match the wire color with the spliced in wires. It helps avoid confusion. Just try to use solder and heat shrink to give you good connections and make it clean.

  • @salmeron7 Of course you do, the original Honda wires are way smaller. The guy had to make the whole electric cable system longer to make this bike.

  • sweet f*#kn bike but......lets just listen to the bike idle.

  • No matter how "clean, how much chrome, whats chopped, etc, etc, blah, blah, It's still a fuckin Rice Burner. Nuff said.

  • Could you please tell me the syze of the AVON tyres that you have used for your bobber? The suppliers tell me that neither AVON on METZELER dont produce the same tyres with the standard VLS 100/90 -19" Front, 170/80-15" Rear syzes, they ask me if 100/90-19 and a 150/90-15 will fit my VLX. Culd you please help me with the choice? Thank you very much, great bike man !

  • Awesome bike mate i hope u ride it often!! Nice one!!

  • @italianodmass Not sure who made it..I found it in youtubes selections.

  • So, how 'bout it, did you need to extend/change the cables? Mine seem like they wouldn't reach. Great job, one of the best on youtube. You and a few others here have inspired me to buy and bob out a Shadow.

  • @Steelheart8280 I know man sorry..I packed my camera cause I'm moving.

  • why do you lot who put sound tracks on your post think we want to here your crap music we want to hear the BIKE!!

  • @trance481415 It was early in the morning, didn't need to wake the neighbors.

  • @Hotrodhayabusa From the look of your reflection on the tank you started the bike, and judging by the angle of the shadows it looks like it's close to noon, definitely not the morning, unless you live in Alaska.

    Just sayin.

  • @Acepryus you can calculate the height of the camera, the direction of the bike, the colour of the sun and the length of the shadow just from one minute video?

  • Comment removed

  • @Hotrodhayabusa screw the neighbors let her rip

  • @trance481415 if you don't even want to listen to a soundtrack what makes you think we want to here you cry like a little bitch with a scabbed knee. hmmmmm...... listen to soundtrack.....listen to you cry...... i'm gonna go with the soundtrack lmfao!!!!

  • man your bike is so sweet *droooooool*

  • @igetcheeze \m/ \m/

  • i like how you mounted the springs to the seat, thats differnt and cool.

  • @NoSweatOffMySack Man the shocks help so much, you just float.

  • @Hotrodhayabusa what are they off of?

  • @Hotrodhayabusa bet you that seat kills after a few hours?

  • just modifs&custom forum

  • Your Very Nice!!! Did you have to extend the cables (throttle etc..) with the bar change? And if so which route did you take? (different bike or custom cables)

  • SICK BIKE BRO !!

  • Fire it up!!!

  • WOW you don't know how to use a camera.

  • @tpfaff6 Wow...I can use the camera better than you can play the drums.

  • @Hotrodhayabusa No...no you can't. Were you stoned when you filmed? Cuz I was BLAZZZED when I was drumming.

  • @Hotrodhayabusa The bike is sick tho man, don't think I was hating. My artistic sense chimes in sometimes, and I have to let people know. hah

  • nice ride man!

    The shadow is totally underrated

  • I liked the part with the battery

  • i loves me a shadow :)

  • i hate this fuckin song!

  • @ebarnes419 Slim pickins

  • Where is this backyard shop of yours? I'd like to take my bike there to get a face lift.

  • Holy crap I've been searching youtube forever looking for a video that used this song. Nobody ever uses it.

    Nice bike.

  • Great Bike Man !

I like the song too ! Tell me more about it please ;)

  • Great Bike Man !

I like the song too ! Tell me more about it please ;)

  • VERY NICE !

  • sharp!

  • Also one more question about the tires, i see that you`ve gor a nice pair of them, with whitewalls on them, but one more time getting them in Moscow will cost a fortune, have you seen any separate whitewalls on sale anywhere that could fit the standard Shadow/Steed tires? you could help me a lot. Thanx a lot buddy, your bike inspires me. Good Luck with it !

  • is there a difference between them and did u buy a Honda one, or you`ve just mounted the standard one. How different is the performance compared to the original air filter, it should rock, heh?)

  • Awesome bike, Hotrodhayabusa — a great job done here, how long did it take? I`m planning on building a bobber from the same Honda - A Japanese Honda Steed VLX 600 in Russia, could you tell me what is the model of the SuperCharger that you`ve used ? Ive seen it on sale but the model was unspecified and it costed a lot, besides the fact that they all are made for different brands like HD or Yamaha,

  • where can I find white walls to fit a 250 rebel?

  • Nice bike but i had to totally thumbs down the video for the overplayed and tired music choice.

  • @MrHealthQuest I feel you....the selection sucks.

  • @MrHealthQuest ditto from me. It seems like I hear this sort of fag-rock screeching on every 2nd bike video here. Let's hear the bikes speak up.

  • Looks excellent!! Great job!

  • Did you have to extend or shorten any of ur wiring to get it all hidden so well or were you able to just stuff it all out of the way

  • @jack71854 I had to put a coil under the tank...other than that I just played with different routes...no cutting.

  • awesome! just did the same to mine. its awesome how badass these honda can be haha..sick bike!

  • i have been looking all over for tail light/blinkers like that. where did you get them?

  • @jack71854 I believe they were from J&P Cycles. Remember you have to also get the run-turn kit for it.

  • what front wheel is that ?

  • OMG! 5 stars!!!!

  • @virpil01 NOPE, I GOT IT- OLD PLASTIC SIDE COVER MOUNT , FOUND IT AS I WAS RIPEN STUFF OFF. IM GOING TO HAVE FUN CUTTING THIS STUFF OFF , THERE IS A COOL RIDE UNDER THIS UNNECESSARY STUFF.

  • did you use the rear pegs for the turn signal mounts ?

  • @IRSFRAUDEXPOSED No I cut those off. I actually used the side mount were you would snap the plastic to. I removed the rubber gromets and then welded a little plate on either side for strenght and drilled it out to the tail light hole size

  • Sweeeet. Did you lower the bike at all?

  • @bbooogy Sure did...used a hard tail kit. It's low but doesn't drag pegs.

  • I just hardtailed my 92 VLX, and I'm running 3" springs right now. How are those shocks? Do they really give you very much suspension? Thanks.

  • @skyjac92 Unless you hit a really large hole, you really can't tell the difference. Being from Louisiana our roads suck ass.

  • @Hotrodhayabusa Excellent. You running less psi in the rear tire? That's the same tire I have.

  • Hey brotha i have an 88 shadow that im in the middle of bobbing out.. Your video just stopped me from alomst giving up on the project. Just by looking at this video gives me some what of a direction... thanks man

  • Why dose everybobdy dub this song over ther video? I think I saw a an old woman in a gardening video with this song.

  • i would like to know what detailing products you used as well. my vulcan needs some serious cleaning up from sitting under a carport...never again! i love the attention to details cuz its a really nice bike!! the frame looks sweet too !! love the color

  • i really likes. cool floating L plate

  • @jkstdstang Saves my ass from the rear tire..haha

  • Hey this bike is awesome. I really want to start a project like this would you be willing to help me through e-mail on where you got your ideas and stuff. This bike is so nice.

  • @MrCbutter45 I'll help in any way I can...I also have another video which shows a few slides, check it out.

  • cover that battery up.

  • @Tonyokay87 Come on man...the battery was covered, by 30 pounds of plastic. I didn't want all that plastic any more. Thanks for the comment though.

  • awesome looking weapon man, is the vlx a factory hard tail or did you cut and weld that in????

  • theyre factory softails...it looks like he welded the swingarm directly to the frame.

  • @fidy8dub Soft tail...I got a hardtail kit from online. Bolts right in, just replaced the shock.

  • awesome bike man!

  • I checked your bike out, very nice.

  • Were in the world did you buy your cables from? Been lookin for some.

  • I forget who made them, I was just looking online. Sorry bro

  • Beautiful bike man ,Ive a 1989 vt shadow in my garage my first ever bike 20 years ago still original could never bring myself to part with it but ,would love to bob it but have never tried anything like that before.Scared i will mess it up .

  • Get a Service manual from online then start, it really helped me. It tells you everything from ground up. You got that!

  • not exactly sure the seats very practical, but I like the idea.

  • Chopper Shox...Makes a ridgid ride like a caddie..don't knock it till you rode it.

  • @Hotrodhayabusa I`ve tried to order a pack from them and `ve been writing a lot to them, but no one answered) Looks like they got broke man.

  • Comment removed

  • nice bike dude. you should try to fit a smaller battery, and hide the wiring with the black tape, and also maybe polish the fork...thats just small details but I see nothing else to say ;)

    nice job!

  • Thanks for the advise...I'll stop by Toys R Us and pick up a tonka toy battery just for you.

  • haha thanks ;) Sorry if I sounded rude, no offense here. Once again, nice job!

  • thats a badass looking bike man

  • hello my name is logan and i am interested in building a bobber could u give me some specs on ur amazing bike? like engine where u got it and handle bars i would really be great full

  • Thanks man... It's a 2002 Honda VLX 600 Deluxe...the bars are Roland Sands. Get to building keep me posted.

  • how many base coats did u spray as well as clear???

    that thing looks friggin awsome!!!

  • One prime two base three clear...Using Duplicolor Laquer paints from Autozone.

    Thanks...I like your videos also.

  • @Hotrodhayabusa thanks.... those vlx's are the best sounding cruisers honda makes... they have a single pin crank like a harley instead of 2. i bet that thing sounds just as good as it looks... great vid 5 stars

  • Now all you need is a belt drive to get rid of the chain "problem"!

  • hey i really like your honda..i have a yamaha virago 750 1994 i'm trying to save some money to costumize mine too. how will it cost me to customize it that much, i mean the paint, the chrome details and averythink...thanks

  • Thanks for the comment...The only thing that I bought was.. tires and handlebars and a couple odd and ends. As far paint I used Duplicolor..Laquer paint sucks ass, I do not recomend it.

I used the original chrome that came stock.

I spent about 800$ estimated from stock to this.
