  • Dr. Baer is a wonderful doctor...

  • thank you

  • Im doing a project on leukemia and idk how to prevent leukemia???

  • No way to prevent it. Leukemia is abnormal blood cells in the blood and the bone marrow. Acute leukemia is usually found in children and has 20-80% blast cells found vs. chronic leukemia which has less than 20% blast cells. This is just the beginning. You can find so much info on this. Also, you can search hematology books which explains this very well.

  • @WS6TALS1 'No way to prevent it'

Dietary factors and risk of non-hodgkin lymphoma in men and women.

The incidence of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) has increased worldwide in recent decades.

CONCLUSIONS: The positive associations of NHL risk with dairy products and fried red meat and the inverse association with fruits and vegetables suggest that diet affects NHL risk and could explain the increase.. Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev. 2005 Feb;14(2):512-20.

  • Excellent film. Very informative!

  • there's no way to avoid leukemia 100%

you can REDUCE the risk but not get rid of it completely

  • what are the ways to avoid leukemia?

  • Avoid various chemicals, ionizing radiation, and some chemo for treatment of other cancers can cause leukemia down the line.

Alkylating drugs can lead to chromosome 5 and/or 7 abnormalities leading to myelodysplastic syndromes or AML (4-6 years post treatment).

Topoisomerase inhibitors can lead to 11q23 translocation of the MLL gene leading to AML 1-3 years post-treatment.

  • I love this woman, at least she tries to inform us. thank you!
