  • @chadley6916 He doesn't mean to show these kicks for use in a real fight, it's strictly a demonstration of his kick height.

  • Good kicking stumbled a bit tho,practising low medium & high kicks all the time 1 , 2 , 3 on each kick it will do wonders for your balance also practise standing on 1 leg for a while. do my stretches on my website from the video " how to do the splits " about 3 times per a week give about a days rest between stretching so you can get rid of the Tightness and give your legs time to heal.

  • Yeah ive been working on flexibility aswell... its been so hard, at first i was seing some progress, but after a sertain lvl it stoped, like im not gaining more flexibility anymore.

    I dont know what to do...

  • i will post up a vid of dynamic stretch excercies that immideately free up your hip flexors and increase height on your kicks with no pain. A lot of people underestimate the power of dynamic flexibility and do too much static excercises that eventually tighten you up again.

  • @gosper It would be great. I'm training my stretch too. It's difficult to me because I started on martial arts when I was 17 years old and I started with wing chun where it isn't necessary much stretch.

  • you need to start training the small muscles around ur joints eg hips etc so you can willingly go to your full extension and height with your kicks? check out some elastic steel stuff its quite good. Once you can move in your farthest stretch you can start gaining more

  • if you're that serious about flexibility approach a karate instructor & take professional help dont give up everything is achieveable if efforts are put.

  • @NoPixelz your interesting in learning the splits go to my channel search for my video " how to do splits " i've got a website open with all my stretches. sometimes body does that nopixelz i went through that phase before i got my splits for a couple of months. visit my site do my stretches 3 times week

  • @NoPixelz get a steamroller to drive over you legs, does help flexability n u can roll ur legs up into a ball and hide in smaller places

  • @NoPixelz just stretch everyday it builds up over time, so if you happen too stretch all out a day it will be extension of your body's durability for a longer period. Idk lol i just came across this video, although i don't specialize in any fighting style's, but i can do splits.. and kick high resembling a split posture in the air with a kick.. which im sure is high..

  • i know wat ur talking about, wen i stretch my hamstrings next day they go tight again. The trick is that to get high kicks you need DYNAMIC flexibility not STATIC flexibility. I cant do the slpits and can kick higher than some people who can do the splits. If you would like the excercises that will get you height just reply and il make a video. I promise immideate results!

  • @gosper I'd always wondered if that was an unhealthy thing I can round kick to the head but I can't split much beyond 90 degrees, meaning my TKD form kicks look like crap but my sparring kicks are good.

  • practice and alot of stretching, warming up is a must though, splits are good

  • i know a better idea,, to be able to kick high, first of all you must resist the pain meaning everytime you kick and it hurts just take the pain and believe that you'll gain, second try to kick as high as you could not do, there you will feel such pain but don't think about it, next try to kick higher and higher everyday,,and you're gonna be like this""TAEKWONDO KICKS''''watch it

  • @yandykun I like to make a suggestion, if you're really serious about flexibility remember this name. Superfoot Bill Wallace. You may have or not heard of him. But get some of his dvds on stretching & flexibilty. Jean Frenate, I think I mispelled his last name, but he was in revenge of the nerds. He has many strectching videos. Panther video has been bought by Century martial arts. They have a lot of stretching dvds to choose from. Good luck.

    And yeah it isn't that effective in real fights, that's why I'm practicing Wing Chun.

    I did taekwondo 14 years ago and i'm learning shotokan karate now but it seems like there is little difference between taekwondo and this karate. I feel like i'm learning the same thing all over again. I might quit and go for some aikido instead.

    But anyway, your kata is good, keep rocking those dynamic kicks.

  • You can't assume as if you already know the outcome of a match. NEVER underestimate anyone. I respect this video for his technique and training. And yes, timing and speed is everything I agree with that. That's why I respect the art of Jeet Kune Do.

  • Yes that's true, it's not entirely effective in a fight on its own. But if combined with other advantageous fighting styles, it can throw the opponent off. But you have to admit, he has good form and control in his kicks :P

    there was a bulky slightly shorter guy who seemed like he done alot of weights against this skinny slightly taller guy, the skinny guy gave the bulky guy 1 turning kick to the head and the fight was over.

  • there's no power in his technique. it's all flash and no discipline. the flexibility isn't even impressive. he needs to focus on aiming his kicks and to work on his form, otherwise he'll always look as sloppy as this.

  • You don't need such (high)kicks to be a good martial artist. Any movement that leaves you rather unbalanced and vulnerable for heavy countering should be avoided as much as possible. Waste of energy imo. Things that look good are not functional most of the time. But then again if you like to kick this way, keep practising of course :-)

  • i started with hwa rang do, then moved to kufu kungfu which is a blend of shing ei, paqua and tai chi. I have combined all these elements as i prefer the hwa rang do power for kicks (and technique)
