She may have never let off but she had to have layed up some off the pedal. I mean come on i have a GAGT and it dont just die on its face like that.....I have raced plenty of neons and intrepeds etc. I know what the GAGT can and will do. First take off traction contol then brake torque it and prepare for launch. GAGT is not the fastest but its for DAMN sure not the slowest!! Simple upgrade toss the stock muffler out and stock intake out. Get CAI and catback exhaust will do wonders as a start

@dkhill27 Yes but you have to think at this point, i probably make as much power as the GAGT, and i am lighter. CAI, intake manifold, catback, udp, accessories deleted. My stock 2.4L makes 150hp and 167ftlbs at the flywheel.

@infinitemagic14 I am a mechanical engineer, which is basically applied physics. Be really good at calculus. Be able to apply advanced math to classes such as chemistry and physics. Get your 4 year degree and make 60k/yr. If your a lawyer it is about 7 yrs for the same starting pay. Alot less hands on than engineering.

First off the chick doesn't know how to drive, I bet she left the ETS on and anyone that's ever properly raced a GAGT knows to turn that off first so the engine doesn't down itself down to almost 4 cyclinder power to prevent from the burn out, Second the GT would win anyday, it has a better engine and gears and weight to power ratio. Third, she let off the gas and don't try to tell me the car shifted cause that's straight B.S. I don't mean to be a dick but I don't like to be lied to.

@1999GAGTHO Its not all about horsepower and torque. Think about weight. Stratus is 400lbs lighter. Think about gearing, stratus has tighter gears. The chick said she didnt let off the gas till i hit the brake.

@randomhero438 also about your comment about HP and Torque and gearing. In this race you guys prob only made it to 3rd gear if your lucky so the gears didn't matter too much. Second thing is the HP and torque DOES matter on the start of the race. The GAGT clearly has more torque and HP than the stratus which means it would have a faster start regardless of the weight was. and the GT doesn't change gears until about 45+mph or 4500 RPM's. It's easy to see she had no intentions of actually racing.

@goldenupload Stratus (with bolt-ons) has about the same torque as the GAGT. Stratus shifts at 37mph seeing that it has tighter gears. Cant anyone just except that a modded grandma car beat a GAGT lol

@randomhero438 I am sorry but I don't accept lies. Expecially whenever you look all over youtube and EVERY video you see that has a stratus vs a GAGT the stratus always loses. I am sorry but you just have to accept the fail and move on about your day. Sell the Stratus and buy a actual fast car and than post some vids on youtube. Honestly not everyone can be wrong and all I am seeing is people more puzzled that you even managed to stay caught up in the first place.

@goldenupload This is not a stratus with your standard intake and exhaust mods. P&P aftermarket intake manifold, balancing shaft delete (14lbs off the crank), and all the accessories were removed, *52mm throttle body) Sadly, it is still slow, but it did win. And it wasn't some crappy GAGT either, it had 60k miles.

More haters on here then I would have ever imagioned 0,o Grand Ams are a great car regardless of what any of these dumb asses say. Plus you have to look at the fact that the Grand AM was carrying a passenger as well and she still managed to get a good lead then drop down so you could catch up. @goldenupload 110lbs of weight at 70mph make little to no difference in the acceleration of a 3400lbs passenger car. The Grand Am hit 3rd gear which is why the Stratus caught up. Stratus has tighter gears.
