@pildido I would recommend to play shogi on-line with "Internationalized" pieces until you get used to how to move each piece. Little Golem, Brainking and 81 dojo offer you options to use traditional Japanese pieces or to use their International ones.

im having difficulty recognizing the pieces,,,i am a chess club player.. yesterday i just learned how to play shogi and amazed that this game is far more complicated than chess....all i have to do now is to familiarize the shogi pieces so that i can follow your videos...

what kind of program are you using? I have searched continuously and have not found a shogi software as good as this one.

May I suggest that you slow down? It's hard to absorb information as good when I have to dart my eyes from piece to piece while trying to connect these moves to snippits of commentary. A little bit can make a big difference for an absolute beginner like me.

Incredible game! I could have sworn Maruyama was in the better position until Gouda began his brilliant attack. I was thinking of S*1b already when Gouda dropped the rook.
