Paul Williams would be the lead singer and star of most R&B vocal groups of the 60s and 70s... But the Tempts were no ordinary R&B vocal group. They were only the best! Three guys in that band werre worthy of being lead singers (Ruffin, Kendricks, Williams) but unfortunately for Paul the other two stood out and were more preferred by the writers. His alcoholism and health worries ruined his career and as it turns out led to his untimely death. On this tune you can see what vocal command he had.
