With that being said, why do you push on removing religion and promoting science? I am a devote christian and I happen to be a scientist as well. I understand that you might have conflicting views on religion and science, but that is YOUR opinion. I just happen to believe that science and God go hand in hand, both make sense to me.

I want to be clear that people should be allowed to believe whatever they want to - even if the claims seem very inaccurate - including those who hold delusional views. I think if we examined the data we would see that prohibition of drugs results in more violence than an open market for drugs. Should tobacco companies be included in that stat? They knowingly poison millions every year using a combination of chemicals sprayed on cigarettes. If you look at the history of tobacco usage you might find that the high correlation of lung cancer in smokers is a recent phenomenon. Furthermore, tobacco smokers who grow there own tobacco or smoke organic strands are much less likely to get cancer. Just a thought.

Drug addiction I think is like religion - its a mistaken popular fad - but you can't "purge the Pagans" or "purge the Christians" with massive jail sentences to stop it - it needs to be something that ultimately logic, information and education will stop. If you spend time reading around how drugs actually become illegalized, you will be amazed at how dirty the tactics are. They include what boarders on straight lying and relying on reports that the DEA admit contain fatal errors - such as mixing up ten times less with more, or compounds with those known to be more toxic, or ignoring advice from the advisory judges and scientific boards they employ to help form drug laws. These changes in law are then used as references by other countries.
I think the best analogy to use and addiction of rec drugs like coke and weed is the obesity issue. Obese people engage in unhealthy activity and nobody debates this, just like, for the sake of the argument, we can assume that rec drug use is bad. The big issue is: what do you do to ppl who have this problem? Lock them in jail? My own vote is: no, we simply let them have their unhealthy habits - so long as they are nonviolent, not molesting us with lasers, not stealing, etc.
Certain drugs do steal the choice from people, they end up spiralling hard and they give up on everyone around them - and give up caring about inflicting the results of their addiction on others. In Cal there was a prop to reduce sentences for drug offenders but it failed 60%/40%. People can't distinguish between "drugs bad" and "what do you do with those caught using drugs". Okay, I understand that violence is a more serious problem than drug use is but in my opinion, I beleive humans are not ready for the legalization of illicit drugs because without any fear of consequences, more humans would be tempted to use these drugs and more humans would be harming their bodies. Drugs are addictive and most humans grow attached to euphoria. Alcohol alone has killed countless people directly and indirectly. Imagine a whole world full all these drugs you can do. Not good...

But the critical issue is: "what do we do when a person does use drugs, alcohol, or is obese, etc.?". Jail is not the answer. Guns are used to kill far more people than alc, and now there is the laser. Torture and jail are not the answer to make people lead healthy lives, info and edu are. Vote yes on Prop 5 if in CA.

Let the truth be freely debated and figured out. We need to remember, the simple act of using drugs is not a violent crime to other people. Drug use does not equal violence. Not that I know of, and isn't that a basic important principle: a person's right to their own body? Certainly there have to be exceptions in terms of physically touching people to move them in cases of trespassing, in self defense, etc. However, it covers so many things: the right to die, the right to use drugs, the right to accept money for sex, the right to eat unhealthy foods, smoke unhealthy plants, take any drug you want, ... anything to yourself, when no damage or pain to any other person.

It is true that while handheld lasers that can slice through people in milliseconds have clearly been invented long ago - although we have never seen one photo of any - it seems there would be nothing standing in the way of that innovation. yes "peor" - one unifying aspect of human language is that there can easily be an easy to write, one-letter=one-sound international phonetic alphabet. Because the vast majority of sounds in all human languages are the same (the O, E, B, T, K, etc) are universal in almost every human language. I think if we examined the data we would see that prohibition of drugs results in more violence than an open market for drugs. It's like alcohol - look at all the violence in that illegal market - but now look at the alcohol industry- we don't see vodka and beer companies shooting it out on the streets for territories.

Should tobacco companies be included in that stat? They knowingly poison millions every year using a combination of chemicals sprayed on cigarettes. If you look at the history of tobacco usage you might find that the high correlation of lung cancer in smokers is a recent phenomenon. Furthermore, tobacco smokers who grow there own tobacco or smoke organic strands are much less likely to get cancer. Just a thought.

Drug addiction I think is like religion - its a mistaken popular fad - but you can't "purge the Pagans" or "purge the Christians" with massive jail sentences to stop it - it needs to be something that ultimately logic, information and education will stop. But in terms of violence, and violent crime, I think the jail-the-offender approach is the best there is - even though logic, free info and education and not prison will ultimately stop violence - prison will keep them from hurting other ppl.

Again, this applies to some drugs, the ones that cause physical and/or extreme psychological dependence. Mainly opioids and stimulants/alcohol if used very frequently. I know many potheads and have no knowledge of them funding their habit with crimes. Of course this doesn't apply if they are already criminals who just happen to smoke pot.

I'm against the drug war, no more drug war, I say. I'm for making the USA a democracy, not a representative government - the representatives are too corrupt. I support a lot of the ideas of the constitution, later amendments, and many modern added laws - it's all law - and it's time to make sure the laws get popular support by those who have to live under them. For example, I'm for free speech, the first amendment, but I vote against prohibition of alcohol - that was a bad amendment!

No I think that's a mistaken view that the majority will trample on the minority. A constitutional rep is just a slower delayed form of democracy - the majority gets their way eventually but more slowly. The rights of many have been destroyed in a const. rep. - had we been able to vote, I doubt there would have been an invasion of Iraq, I doubt marijuana would be illegal, and so on. Not letting the public vote just delays the progress.

See my video on how people figured out how to see eyes from the radio and infrared light emited by humans and other species. When people can see inside houses and heads - they see everybody buying and selling drugs, and so after years of this, they capitalize on it - arresting those who don't pay them and protecting those who do. Yes as thamma513 explained this statistic is people who used drugs to kill other people. I'm against rude insults like calling people dumb, although I think some things are dumb - like locking those addicted to rec. drugs, in particular for more than a week which is enough time for them to get unaddicted. Compare to guns, in the sense you say, guns and knives kill more than drugs kill even for OD. Marijuana is a very rare overdose. Alcohol overdose is common. Big question is: jail those who use?

Alcohol and food is a good example - people can easily eat all the food they want, but yet they don't - they can buy as much alcohol as they want and drink until they get alcohol poisoning, but they don't - at least most dont. Yeah I guess its better to compare it with food. I think they should just ease up on drugs, not just say "Put whatever you wan into your bodies!" because countless idiots would O.D., and there would be a lot of heroine/coke/etc. addicts. but say... they ATLEAST make cannabis legal, and a few other drugs around that zone that aren't all that bad, would be a little better.

They include what boarders on straight lying and relying on reports that the DEA admit contain fatal errors - such as mixing up ten times less with more, or compounds with those known to be more toxic, or ignoring advice from the advisory judges and scientific boards they employ to help form drug laws. These changes in law are then used as references by other countries.

I think the best analogy to use and addiction of rec drugs like coke and weed is the obesity issue. Obese people engage in unhealthy activity and nobody debates this, just like, for the sake of the argument, we can assume that rec drug use is bad. The big issue is: what do you do to ppl who have this problem? Lock them in jail? My own vote is: no, we simply let them have their unhealthy habits - so long as they are nonviolent, not molesting us with lasers, not stealing, etc.

I think "someone" is actually making a lot of money by having no competition, or having complete control of the market.. They don't care if it costs money to arrest. In Cal there was a prop to reduce sentences for drug offenders but it failed 60%/40%. People can't distinguish between "drugs bad" and "what do you do with those caught using drugs". I think people will wake up like they did with prohibition of alcohol; it's only a matter of time. The drug war is a violent, human rights atrocity, all the suffering and murder, just because people choose to use - like not excersizing. Imagine tobacco companies beheading each other's employees - doesn't happen.

Okay, I understand that violence is a more serious problem than drug use is but in my opinion, I beleive humans are not ready for the legalization of illicit drugs because without any fear of consequences, more humans would be tempted to use these drugs and more humans would be harming their bodies. Drugs are addictive and most humans grow attached to euphoria. Alcohol alone has killed countless people directly and indirectly. Imagine a whole world full all these drugs you can do. Not good...

But the critical issue is: "what do we do when a person does use drugs, alcohol, or is obese, etc.?". Jail is not the answer. Let the truth be freely debated and figured out. We need to remember, the simple act of using drugs is not a violent crime to other people. Drug use does not equal violence. We need to separate violent people from the nonviolent majority. Thanks MountainD, there are 2 kinds of people: 1) those who routinely see and hear inside people's houses and heads, and 2) those who don't. For 1) privacy is wonderful because is keeps #2 from seeing what they are doing, but for 2) privacy gives them the mistaken belief that there is no 1) - #2 thinks privacy is a reality and they are 100% wrong. #1 knows it is a myth and can be used to protect them.
But for sure: no more government secrets before no more citizen's secrets.

Not that I know of, and isn't that a basic important principle: a person's right to their own body? Certainly there have to be exceptions in terms of physically touching people to move them in cases of trespassing, in self defense, etc. However, it covers so many things: the right to die, the right to use drugs, the right to accept money for sex, the right to eat unhealthy foods, smoke unhealthy plants, take any drug you want, ... anything to yourself, when no damage or pain to any other person.
