I think it would be faster and quicker to just use your hands to turn lights on and lock the doors it would cost you nothing to do that.

I think a system like this may be a benefit to some one with limited mobility no good if you have a saw throat as every thing was done by voice commands in the video it looks good but in reality how good would it really work.

ADT has more Dealers than they do Corporate offices. Why would they rely so heavily on people and companies they are not responsible for? I let you toil on that one. All a DEALER does is, come into your home, learn about your vulnerabilities, sign you up for cheap junk, and then sell you ADT, and then you will NEVER hear from or deal with them again. Even the card they give you has no way to reach them; just an ADT 800#. Plus your intial low rate you signed up for goes away after a year.

sophiesage - I sold for ADT for 7 years and was a District Manager for over a year. DEALERS are not the only ones that sell the plug-n-play system. ADT's new Basic package that they advertise for $99 ($42.99 a mo.) IS the Honeywell LYNX-R system. What most of us refer to as "the boom-box of alarms" All you have to do is yank it off the wall and it's toast because it's all in the one, in my opinion, crappy unit.

This is theortetically possible with any alarm. ADT is a poor choice for supplier due to substandard monitoring, high pirces and spotty service. I am an ADT dealer and simply won't deal with them anymore. Do your shopping properly and you won't end up with them or others like them.

You're getting it all wrong. I'm only an ADT third party dealer because of a buyout of the station I was on. I wouldn't deal with them for anything. I totally agree with you. I have my own small company and only do quality work, but I wont use ADT for monitoring because it's substandard. Their dealer work is also often very poorly done...

I have sold for ADT for over twenty years... Most of our sales are outright sales.....only the real small packages are considered leases. Corporate ADT has nothing for free, only the ADT "authorized dealers" sell the free ( cheap, cheap ) "plug and play" systems, usually the GE Simon or the Honeywell Lynx.

No.... I think the future of ADT involves a lawsuit because of all their messy, unsafe installations. I do know a few ADT techs who do great work, but they arent stereotypical ADT workers.

Working with fire alarm systems, I've seen what ADT does, and it's really bad. Ever since tyco took over, its all been downhill for ADT. All tyco wants is money, not quality jobs. I remember when ADT used to use 16 gauge wire and fill their holes with resin...

I have worked for many Security companies,and been in the Industry for 20 yrs.Never has ADT refused to fix someone's panel.If you don't have a maintenance agreement and it isn't covered under the warranty,then you will have to pay for the repair,if you agree to pay,they will fix it.I get complaints about ADT that are unfair to ADT.So many times the customer wants twice what they paid because they didn't get maintenance at all,to save 7 bucks and now are upset because they will have to pay.

One needs to research who owns the company and what the real reason for the monitoring.

Just scraping the surface it seems this monitoring company will be part of the surveilence of the citizens. Great they maybe able to tell you if a fire starts or if

someone broke in. Dig deeper I think you will find their intentions are Orwellian in nature and mean you no good. Get a weapon and know how to use it-It is still your best form of protection. Owned by a British Lord in banking.

I work for ADT and how it works is if your alarm is set off we call your premises first...if no answer we call your emergency contants (if you have any) if we can't reach them we call the police or fire department. If your keypad code is entered in 120 seconds then we disregard. Everyone is such a bastard about there alarms! If something is wrong with one of there sensors or a failed comm they freak out about the tech charge! Everyone has to get paid!

ADT doesnt care much about the customer these days but how much you willing to spend today.
