ok, I am a teacher and I'd have to disagree with you. I don't believe words hurt people but the feelings toward others.. When people ignore you and won't talk to you that hurts..are they using words? No. I had a class or low level kids and their friends would say the word and it didn't hurt them..why? because those people were always there for them..it was just a word! Maybe we shouldn't use: hate, blond, black, dumb, slow, genius, stupid, crazy, ect...since they can be used to offend people..
