Mustache! Where can you buy that stuff? I was already lurking at some dead cats (shotgun condenser mics) before I came across this, and it seems do to the job perfectly.
awesome. i just got the panasonic tm20 it looked pretty similar at the top, im for sure going to use this technique for now, since the cam doesnt have mic input:s. thanks!
Thank you so very much for this idea! I have a handheld digital Sony camcorder and have recorded a few family outdoor events, and breezy days caused annoying wind noise. So I decided to seek any helpful YT video resolutions.. and voila! Found yours. So today I spent $1.43 on a similar material at my local fabric store. Followed your idea/instructions, and it works great! Thank you lots again!!! Thank goodness for YT and folks like you who share helpful ideas.
If you don't want to go through the time, trouble and expense of the DIY Velcro cover, there is a professional windscreen made for consumer camcorders. You can find them at TheWindCutter site.
I've been using one for over a year, they're reasonably priced and work great.
Well done. I'm going to try this out.

this is gonna be a little tricky with my panasonic hdc sd60. there's not much place to stick the velcro. I'm sure i'll sort something out.

@SteU4IA
buy a kan spray paint colour black take the fur outside lay it on a paper or smething and from a slight distance spray over the fur.
Then you have black fur ;-)
