Actually, if the League engages in another expansion or Hairy Buttman is actually very pro-Wang (no homo), Quebec might see a team because Quebec City is going to dump alot of cash on a new Pro Hockey Arena. On the other hand, the Whale is a quaint idea but the real money for Connecticut hockey is creating a strong college program at UConn. It would come with less baggage (and usually cheaper) than a minor league team.

I'm from the Montreal area in Quebec Canada, but between 1988-1997...my #1 team was the Hartford Whalers...maybe the only one in Quebec. I remember a lot (My #1 Goalie-he was very ordinary but he was my goalie at the time) G Peter Sidorkiewicz and (Like him too) G Mike Liut . In defense I liked D Zarley Zalapski (even that he dosen't like Hartford...traded later to Calgary) and D Jeff Brown. In Fowards...F Ray Ferraro, F Nelson Emerson and F Rob Brown were my player...respect a lot Ron Francis!

the three teams that deserve an nhl team the most are winnipeg, hartford, and quebec. they, out of all the teams, didn't deserve to depart. i'm from mn so i've watched sunny dallas take our team.. know what it's like. since an expansion is not possible, my vote is getting rid of the Nashville Predators, Florida Panthers, and Atlanta Thrashers... all due to their terrible attendance and year long summer. phoenix can also take a hike and move to cleveland.

I'm actually from CT(25 years) and live in Phoenix now. The Yotes games are great. We have season tix. It does drop below 80. Only 60 today. It'll be 35 tonight. we do have hockey all over the place here, from youth through the NHL,CHL and ECHL. There are warmer places than Phoenix in the winter that have hockey....Miami(Panthers),LA, Anaheim.....

Actually, check out the Sound Tigers (NY Islanders) in Bridgeport off Exit 1 on Route 8 at the Harboryard Arena. The area is safe and right off the exit. The arena is awesome, and the food is great.

They put up the Whalers banners, and even added a couple more, and have been a great addition to the state, even bringing in Hartford's first hockey championship.

I would love to see the NHL come back, but I feel it will be many years before that happens.

I saw the Whalers playing away games vs. both the Isles and the Devils and their booster club was absolutley huge and vocal. They deserved better. You know what that is right? The Whalers were a small market team, because Conneticut is a small market. Which means they lived and died by their attendance numbers. It isn't like other teams that have GREAT TV contracts that don't live in fear the way the Whalers did. The Whalers didn't have good support, so they left. That is what it comes down to.
