3) Marxists themselves are virtually useless as a source of objective, factual information regarding either history, political science or economics.

Bolshevism and Nazism were both nationalistic ideologies. The difference is that Nazis were hypocrites about Christianity (they intended to destroy it) while Bolsheviks were hypocrites about race (they backed the Slavic peoples above all others). Depends on the fascist movement. German National Socialism was clearly socialist, and borrowed much from Bolshevik Marxism. Italian fascism had its roots in Italian anarchism. Spanish and Portuguese fascism was more conservative and closely associated with Catholism. Franco's fascism in particular was positively monarchist (or classically "Right-wing", as understood before Karl Marx's association with people involved in merchantile pursuits as a "new Rightist thesis".

The difference is that Nazis were hypocrites about Christianity (they intended to destroy it) while Bolsheviks were hypocrites about race (they backed the Slavic peoples above all others). Both were pan-European ideologies, claiming dominion over teh whole continent (and eventually the world) through force of arms.

I'll go with most of that. FOXNews is basically the UK's Sun without the Page 3 girls - but that doesn't mean it isn't one of the better US news services. They simply manage to excel in a field where the regional standards are very low.
Not that I don't watch US news media outlets. I watch Press TV and al Jazeera too, when I get the chance, have read ZMag on occasion, and think little of people who self-censor opposing viewpoints. It signals to me a certain level of stubborn mental thickness.

Might I also add, that "Left" fascism is something of a misnomer. Fascism has its roots in Leftist ideology. Only in certain isolated cases (such as in Spain under Franco and Portugal under Salazar) were the prevailing fascist factions rightly considered "Rightist" - if not in the sense of Marxist mythology (as the Iberian fascists weren't "bourgeois"), certainly in the classical sense (Franco was, after all, a monarchist).

Depends on the fascist movement. German National Socialism was clearly socialist, and borrowed much from Bolshevik Marxism. Italian fascism had its roots in Italian anarchism. Spanish and Portuguese fascism was more conservative and closely associated with Catholism. Franco's fascism in particular was positively monarchist (or classically "Right-wing", as understood before Karl Marx's association with people involved in merchantile pursuits as a "new Rightist thesis".

Almost two years actually - from September of 1939 to June of 1941. In fact, the Bolsheviks were much more friendly to their national socialist cousins than they were to the British and Americans - whereas Nazis trained in Russia before WW II, the Soviets would not even return our pilots downed over their territory until after the war.
