  • If you want to spy on a computer, try downloading SpyRecon software. I used it to secretly monitor my daughter's emails

  • f you want to spy on a computer, try downloading SpyRecon software. I used it to secretly monitor my daughter's emails.

  • worked perfectly! thanks for the reply also!!

  • I'm back after wks of not using my PC. :-/. OK' these guys must be watching this page and are counter measuring everything thats posted. I did everything as needed. F8, search (hotfix). And to my surprise. Their the file was. I smiled and clicked "delete". Then the dam thing said i need permission to delete it. Guy's, how do i do this. Antispy is a giant nightmare!!!

  • It is very important to get AntiSpy SafeGuard off your computer right away, if not taken care of right away, it disables task manager, so you can't end the program, and it disables msconfig, so you can't make it so it won't start up at logon. Also, boot into safe mode, hit F8 while starting up and select safe mode. IF you need to, try changing the name of task manager to something else to see if it opens up or not. Obviously when it is gone, change name back to task manager

  • once at task manager, i tried to run 'explorer', but it won't let me

  • hmm... I don't want to do this a third time... fucking dammit. At least it's an easy WHORE to kill.

  • be careful, i followed the instructions and it worked, but the name of the file in mine was hotfix.exe instead of antispy. its a tricky bastard!

  • I went to safe mode , but taskmangr does not show

it pops up for a second

  • Excellent post... Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cant start explorer.exe

    but regedit works

deleted value, but when i start windows(7 ultimate), then i only see the cursor on a black screen..

    HELP

  • works well, thx !

  • antispy is still there, in safe mode even,...taskmgr window shows for a second

and then disappears. It does not stay there until I do all of what you said...

    Any help?

  • hi, thanks for the help but then got stuck until i tried opening the "explorer" and windows could not find it or something, any alternative methods after there?

  • Thanks mcbeatbox937, fast and easy. Nice work.

  • This was easy to follow and I was able to remove all traces of that messy Antispy Safeguard very easily. Also remember the program may be listed under hotfix.exe. thanks mcbeatbox is ok by me!!1

  • Thank you!! It is people like you who really do belong on you tube. Thank you so much!

  • Ok' i started the pc, then tapped on F8. Entered -safe mode-. still antispy showed it's ugly head. I tried this method twice. Can't seem to get around this crap. What do i do?

  • @itsmister2u Can you open the task manager in safe mode?

  • @itsmister2u I hope you have sorted this out now. Anyways I though its better to note down my experience because it may help somebody else.

when you get in to Safe Mode, of course antispy will show up. but the unlike the normal Mode you can start task manager.

Additionally, in my case the .exe file that I had to delete was not named antispy. it was someting else like "hotstuff" I cannot remember exactly.

@mcbeatbox937 thanks a lot for this video. you saved my day. You are my hero

  • Comment removed

  • @itsmister2u hello, I had that problem a few days ago, I will tell you now what I did.

First, when you start your computer in safe mode is useless if you don't have the file name ( the virus's file that you want to remove).

Secon, when you have that file name open the search folder , this folder will locate the file infected, once you find it , delete it , in cluding any file asociated with it.

Go to your recycle bin and delete it again , don't you just leave it there.

    re-start your comp

  • All this is done in a safemode , remember ;

1 find the name of the file infected

2 start computer in safe mode

3 open the search folder and type the name of the infected file , exemplo : ELDTS.EXE, but avoid the last three letters.EXE. just type the last one before the period. I explain this because if you type the whole name the search folder will not find it.

4 delete it , and any other asociated file.

    4

  • You are a godsend mcbeatbox. Thank you so much for this video.

  • Thanks very much for your help!!! You are fantastic!!!

  • i can not even windows task manager anymore. I tried all 4 ways , but none works anymore. HELP

  • @justusgerretsen If you can't start task manager, try safe mode by pressing F8 when starting your computer before the windows logo comes up and select safe mode from the list. Then try to find the hotfix.exe and registry settings to remove.

  • Comment removed

  • What if it won't let me do the explorer.exe. The pop up is saying windows can't find explorer

  • Thank you so much this video saved my laptop and a lot of headache. My registry also said "hotfix" rather than "antispy", and I followed the directions as the video did and it worked perfectly.

  • It worked! This BS is gone!!! Very helpful...thank you!

  • THANK YOU! Very much, it was too long on my PC so I had to boot it up in safe mode, in that way I went to C:\Documents & Settings\User\Application Data (Can also be different, AppData) and I removed it, because it infected Register-Edit and I couldn't open it

  • fantastic...thank you so much

  • Dude,

    You saved my life/laptop :)

    Thanks a lot

  • fantastic...thank you so much. Saved my sister's computer mate lol

  • hey dude you're the best, can't believe that i got rid of it! like this!!!! thnx so much! your explication was really clear! 8D

  • you are the man... thanks a million

  • Is there perhaps a new variant out there? When I start task manager is closes it before I can do anything in it. It appears that it has control of the task manager now too. Any ideas?

  • @EddieRStevens If you can't start task manager, try safe mode by pressing F8 when starting your computer before the windows logo comes up and select safe mode from the list. Then try to find the hotfix.exe and registry settings to remove.

  • @mcbeatbox937 I was in Safe Mode. Somehow, it still launches at startup and I can’t get to the desktop or to the Task Manager. The Malware appears to be identical to the one discussed here, but it won’t let you get to the desktop or task manager, even in Safe Mode. That is why I was wondering if, perhaps, there is a new strain out there.

  • thanks big help

  • The spyware wont let me open the task manager. and it even comes up in safe mode. any help?

  • @ronrodgersut If you can't start task manager, try safe mode by pressing F8 when starting your computer before the windows logo comes up and select safe mode from the list. Then try to find the hotfix.exe and registry settings to remove.

  • Sorry everyone, i´ve followed the steps until the folder "Winlogon" but then i di´dn´t find any folder with the name "Shell". In WINLOGON, i only find "(Default)" line and then "ParseAutoexec"...no Shell at all here!!!

Did the AntiSpy Safeguard go way without doing the rest?

When i type " Shell" to find a folder with that name...i m on vista here ;(((

  • Thz very much :) I will subcribe :D

  • Thz very much :)

  • AweSome!!! U r the Hero!

  • YOu are awsome, I was at it for 4 hours tryin to find this virus on my computer, except on mine it was labeled as hotfix.exe

  • It helped me with Windows 7 too...just that *.exe file path is somewhat different but then also easy to find with search in C drive with "*.exe" keyword to remove it....

thanks a lot sir for this video...

  • Thank you so much for this video. That program was driving me mad! I finally got rid of it thanks to you :)

  • thank you so much dude. you saved my computer

I've beena t this silly thign for hours ...w as in the group of files I hadn't yet looked at in the registry ... have since downloaded malwarebytes' and stopzilla, they seem to have removed the remaining files / sources ... should there be anything else I should look at repairing / deleting / etc to ensure this trojan has been taken care of ??

  • Thanks very much!!!!!

  • ooooooh dude thank you!!!!!!!!!

tried a lot of crappy spyware stuff that didn't helped

wile your video is just gold worth, easy and it works

    again thanks alot!!!!!

  • @fayt627 It was the application data folder, but you can get to it by typing in %appdata% in the run box.

  • thanks for this video man, but i have a windows vista, and everytime i tried searching for the registry editor, my laptop cant find it, do u know wuts wrong with it? thanks

  • @mafia360 Try typing regedit in Run, it should come up :)

  • I subscribed!

  • I have to tell you, we are a poor family so when this thing hit us I had a panic attack, all our files, our bank info, geez. Thank you so much. Even saying that is inadequate. You really saved us!

  • thank you soo much man u are my savior i was gettin ready to throw this computer out thanks man

  • thanks!

  • I am not really computer savvy. But it worked. However I had windows Vista. Be aware it may be named different then what you put in towards the end of your demo. BUT OH MY.. Thank You, Thank You.

  • I normally do not get involved. However. I am also not that savvy on the computer. Yet I did what you did, and it worked. I still have Vista, and in the Shell area at the end of the tail was not the same as the video. It was something like fix...., I simply followed what you did and substituted that word with the one you used in your example. I have restarted my computer twice now and it worked. All of us are lucky to have people who care as you did. Thank You Again.

  • I love your video presentation...however, my computer cannot find the registry file..is there something that I am doing wrong?

  • thnx dude u helped very much

  • mcbeatbox937 - thanks SO much for your video post. your instructions worked to perfection!

  • I followed your directions and could remove it from the regedit. I can't locate the folder that you show at the end of your video. Can you give more details so that I can delete it totally? My computer seems to be doing okay since taking it out of the registry. Thanks.

  • Thank you soo much. I do believe it's fixed now..

And for people who have windows vista or 7, the "run" button isn't located on the start menu but you can just use the original "new task" button you used in the task manager (where you opened up explorer) and that worked for me. :)

  • Whew. Thanks so much for this video.

  • i love you thank you so much dude.... thumbs up for the awesome help from mcbeatbox

i appreciate you taking your time to post this up to help us

  • Thanks so much! I successfully removed the AntiSpy Safeguard from my computer using your method. (By the way, the offensive file was named hotfix for me.)

  • Thank you you saved me big time

  • Did this stupid virus just happen today? Thanks for the help mcbeatbox937

  • Thank you SO much!

The only thing is, It's in my recycle bin and I went to empty out the recycle bin, and it's sort of taking a while.

Is that normal? Should I be concerned?

    Should I try again?

  • @timeconsumerX If you've restarted the computer and it didn't come back, everything should be OK.

  • great explanation, thanks a million.

  • You, sir, are amazing. THANK YOU!

  • THX DJSUPREX

  • on my it was called "hotfix", not "antispy", but your method seems to work anyway. thank you veeeery much, friend.

  • @HabitsOfANewHome It was the same for me. Seems to be fixed now though!

  • thanks a million, it worked.........

  • Hi, But what do you do if you can't even open your task bar and it has disabled everything? can you answer please?

  • @langlanggalang You should still be able to open the task manager by pressing ctrl+alt+del on the keyboard....then start explorer.exe by going to file menu and new task.

  • @mcbeatbox937 If its on your computer for a while, it won´t let you open any thing anymore, like it will say its infected its started well, but because it was infected its forced to go down

  • I removed hotfix from registry. THe process isn't running. I am try to delete the program. When I copied the folder in run I can't find the program. I am doing a search for the name hotfix right now (takes awhile) Can I just delet it that way?

  • @colman242003 Yeah just delete any hotfix.exe files that you find.

  • YOU'RE AMAZING! Like seriously. You saved my ass :D. Thank you sooo much. I don't actually think i could thank you enough! xx

  • Hi there, I've been able to do everything up to the point of actual deletion. I've changed my registry settings back to normal and everything is running normally as I have denied the access of 'hotfix.exe' to every single file. However when I try to delete it, it says access denied and continues staying in my roaming folder.

  • @reincarnatedmagick Have you stopped hotfix.exe from running by using the task manager? You should be able to delete it then.

  • @mcbeatbox937 Oddly enough, hotfix.exe isn't even running in task manager. And inside the folder it has lost its program symbol and just looks like an ordinary system file though it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Could there be other processes associated with it?

  • @mcbeatbox937 Ah I've solved the problem by using the 'takeown /f' then 'cacls' command in command prompt. Thanks so much for the previous instructions :)

    Cheers!

  • thankkkkk you sooo much i was soo close to just buying the damn spyware hahaha

  • Thanks for the tip. Worked like a charm.

  • Thank you... Interwebs for the win....

Mercedes it's "regedit" you forgot the "i"

Also it's hotfix.exe not antispy.exe... I guess the loosers that made this virus like program changed the name.

  • you are a genius, thank you so much.

and you press "hotfix" on the task manager and then "regedit" if anyone wondering, it was driving me crazy.

  • Comment removed

  • What if the task manager won't show up?

  • titties

  • nvm that sir, i found out that the file was hotfix.exe not antispy.exe. i deleted the hotfix.exe and restart my computer and now it works. thank you kind sir for the helps and tips(i subscribed) hehe ty sir. take care :)

  • When I get to "Run" and type in regedt, it says that windows can not find it

  • @Mercedes7373 It should be regedit

  • @mcbeatbox937 Ohhh okay. My mistake....

  • @mcbeatbox937 You are the BEST!!!!! Seriously...I really appreciate you for helping me and so many other people who have/had this same problem.

  • When I click "Processes", it doesn't have the "antispy.exe". It has winlogon.exe,taskmgr.exe,taskeng.exe,nvvsvc.exe,hotfix.exe,dwn.exe and csrss.exe. What am I supposed to do??????? I need your HELP. And it doesn't delete hotfix.exe

  • @Mercedes7373 Follow the instructions in the video except use hotfix.exe instead of antispy.exe. Let me know if you have any problems.

  • Thanks DUDE!! Quick and easy tuturial of how to remove a virus!

  • You are a star keep up the good work thanks

  • This worked GREAT! I got this when my Microsoft Security Essentials said I had a trojen & went on line to find a fix. It installed this crappy software. I almost purchased the software because Microsoft took me to it. I'm glad I listened to my gut. Your video was a LIFE SAFER!! Thank You!

  • Ok so when I go to do the last part and go to run and paste the folder it just runs the antispy safeguard again and doesn't bring up the folder to delete it. Any help on how to find the folder to delete it? Should this whole process be done in safe mode?

  • @AdamKrozek Take the "hotfix.exe" or "antispy.exe" off of the end of the text, but leave the quotation mark at the end if there is one.
