  • when ever I hear this in Shul on Evre Yom Kippur it just sends me to that point of wow.

  • @KingOystar Yes, indeed. I have both Tucker and Peerce singing the Kol Nidre, and they are two of the most popular videos on my channel! Great music, without question. Thanks for the comment.

  • Quelle force ! Quelle conviction ! Quel talent !

  • All I can say is, "WOW!"

  • @Richiesutherland Thank you. Yes, pretty spectacular singing!

  • Thanks as always for the great video, dear Edmund. Love this rich voice and deep interpretation.

  • @SuperLuckydream Thank you, Tamara. Yes, he was a remarkable tenor. One of my favorite singers from the time I was very young. He was very popular in America, and sang a wide variety of music. His parents came here from Russia, around the turn of the last century, and he became a super citizen, so to speak, always available to sing, always willing to help others. I knew him slightly, and was tremendously impressed with him as a human being. Great man!

  • @EdmundStAustell You knew him! Now itis my turn to be impressed.

  • Thanks for rekindling a 60 year old memory

  • @MrTOBY927 My pleasure; thank you very much for your comment.

  • If not the greatest operatic tenor, Peerce may well be the greatest cantor on record, even including the likes of Rosenblatt, Hershman, Sirota, and Kwartin. Thanks for posting this, Edmund, and a Good Year!

  • @meltzerboy The same to you, my friend, and thank you for your comment.

  • This was the first time I heard the Kol Nidre outside of the shul as a child. I love his voice and intensity. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Thank you.

  • @jaygensn My pleasure. I'm very glad you liked it.

  • What incredible vocal technique Peerce displays in the coloratura, the clarity of the voice, the perfect diction, and the enduring spirit behind the words and music of this thousand year old song. Thank technology for enabling these gifts to be preserved for future generations. Thank you, Edmund..

  • @wriskit1 The pleasure is mine, my friend. I'm very glad that you enjoyed it; and I agree absolutely about Peerce's wonderful singing. He is one of my all time favorite tenors and cantors.

  • This is one of the best versions of this beautiful prayer ever recorded! Too bad I needed a map to find it! It should be more readily found.

  • @gus022799 Yes, I just put it up a week ago. It takes a while for them to wend their way through the jungle of millions of youtube videos!

  • This is the recording I remember as a child 60 years ago. Hearing it here makes me less sad that I cannot be in synagogue tonight.

  • I too held my Kol Nidre service privately in my home and my heart. I join in those thanking you for making these beautiful renditions available to make the evening so much more heartfelt and meaningful.

  • One of the best versions of this ever made.

  • @jaygensn Thank you very much. I certainly agree.

  • He was something else, the most wonderful voice.

  • @pinirosenberg Yes, I certainly agree. Thanks for comment!

  • Thank you Edmund, as you say ,a stirring heartfelt rendition, from a wonderful tenor.

    Regards Rob.

  • @Arellessful Thank you very much. Yes, wonderful indeeed!
