  • Tesla coils are not a source of free energy, they simply higher the voltage of incoming electricity. Some energy is actually lost in the process.

  • hands down tesla is the brightest genius who ever lived during our time

    hands down

  • That primary is HUGE...

  • I've been studying for hours in order to write an essay about Tesla, and this is the single best explanation of tesla coils and how they can wirelessly transmit energy that I could find. Bravo.

  • Woa

  • why aren't we using this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very cool! I'm an electrician, learned a lot about his theories. More genius, than people give him credit for. Hell, the History channel makes him out to be a fluke.

We wouldn't have any of the properties of A/C current, that Edison had back then. Edison was just smart enough to but the patents, for Tesla's work.

  • "you can put your key next to the screw too! just don't jump while there's a current or you'll die"

  • What does it cost to power this thing in terms of kilowatt hours? Maybe we could draw up an analogy, one second of using this thing equals how many hours of television use, or 100W lightbulb use or something?

  • I WANT IT!

  • Kool vid ! More Tesla tech in "Wonderful electric system..." by HorizonDelta ;-)

  • i showed this to my physical science class. They loved it. We were working on circuits and stuff.

  • INdeed yes

  • Tesla made earthquakes in 1899. That riddle of Tesla killed the Illuminati Freemason with a simple truth that prevails.

  • i learned about tesla and edison from assassin's creed 2 :O

  • AC and DC *can* both kill if it is above 30 milla-amps regardless of if its 125,000 hz. You'll note how he is not permitted to stand inside the cage. Radio waves only convert into the electricity inately in the screws.

  • would the electricity coming off that coil thing effect electronics in a bad way?

  • the electricity coming out of that coil is AC. AC stand for alternating current. That means the current go back and forth. Everything in this universe go back and forth. Your blood, skin, molecules, anything that has mass vibrate. If you vibrate back and forth 1 times per second with a distance of 1 meter, you're going to vommit. If you vibrate 1Hz with a distance of 1mm, that's like a massage. AC volts or AC current doesn't kill, DC current kills.

  • AC can kill, but DC is much more dangerous.

  • Not unless it touches those sparks. Radio waves are used all day long - just turn on the radio.

  • scam of the world: Thomas Edison

  • too short steamers for that coil

  • That's because is an original Tesla coil, from Nikola Tesla. Back when he was using Leyden jars for capacitors.

  • He was obviously a very important contributor to science so why weren't we ever told about this guy in science class?! Weird.

  • Why? Because Thomas Alva Edison mounted a gigantic smear campaign against Tesla when Tesla was in Colorado Springs, CO. He was powering the entire city with his 'alternating' current...Edison was pushing his invention: direct current, which, of course, we all know sucks compared to alternating current...but he was Thomas Alva Edison...inventor of the light bulb...and Tesla had been a STUDENT of Edison, and was much smarter. Jealousy is the reason, money and who writes history is the other.

  • That makes sense, great shame indeed.

  • Edison did not invent the first electric light bulb, but instead invented the first commercially practical incandescent light. I think it's stupid that schools don't make this distinction -.-

  • ahh...but there is more to it than that, with this tesla coil he was essentially going for a form of "free" energy, this pissed off the money hungry heads of the electricity business at that time, there is a whole lot of reasons why we didnt here about him...you cannot really pinpoint in on one thing

  • The history channel refers to him as the Forgotten Genius. He didn't have a company to forward the name like Morgan and Edison.

  • @BibFortuna4President because our government is fucked up wants up dead and truth deprived so they can have all the power and money.. didnt they teach you that in school.. er..

  • @BibFortuna4President

cant charge for something thats free. as soon as your born you are (awarded) a number on yourbirth certificate.

unkown to most is this number is your mark for intergration into the big capitalistic machine.

thus supporting the seperation of people and creating classes in society. enter the number in a computer at the stock exchange nd all your assets and debts should show up.

  • @BibFortuna4President Because Illuminatti Thomas Edison ,used Illuminatti JP Morgan ,to first fund ,then pull the rug from under ,Nikola which stopped all his patents. He died broke ,during WW2 . J. Edgar Hoover Confiscated al of his files upon his Death.Which is why we now have The Ultimate weapon .In the Hands of Evil. Ever heard of HAARP , it has the ability to control weather ,and cause Earthquakes. Katrina was a man made event,in 2005

  • @BibFortuna4President Your Government doesn't want an educated public.

  • @BibFortuna4President

    Because he was no American

  • @eakrich he was based in america

  • Thanks for this video. I think Tesla is a long underrated genius who made out modern world possible. I always wondered how the wireless transmission of power would work. This video explains it perfectly! Thank you very much!

  • They should replace the batteries in the male announcer's tape recorder.

  • What this video shot before or after the remodeling of the observatory?

  • He looks like Serj Tanakian from System Of A Down.

  • Thanks for posting this. It filled a gap in my knowledge of Nikola Tesla's idea of "Free Energy". Thanks again.

  • You can't start your car (ignition coil) without Tesla; you can't detonate an A-bomb without Tesla either..Robert Oppenheimer and Tesla were friends, a nuclear test was named for Tesla..

  • Tv 'n radio waves are inducing an ac current in metal things around us... I wonder at what voltage? I know it's really low...

  • How come birds don't die when they land on bare power lines? Interesting isn't it?

  • They don't die because they are not connected to ground. They are only touching the wire. Since they aren't connected to ground there is no voltage difference, so it feels nothing.

  • Actually the atoms that make up the skin of the birds feet has many electrons in its outer shell(valence shell) making it highly resistant. The bird is not the path of least resistance as compared to the conductor wire so it does not flow through the bird. Your theory of touching isnt right because lightning bolts can strike plains and helicopters and they arent the connected to the ground? :p

  • But a human can hang from a high tension line and not be electrocuted, so long as they don't touch the ground. And lightning hitting planes and helicopters generally fries all the electronics on them. You can figure where that leads.

  • Great tour guide. Thanks :)

  • one of these on every corner would be great. free power, until someone got too close and got barbecued that is. sparks are a nasty side effect. and death is a nasty side effect of the sparks. still, i'd pick tesla on my team...

  • Now see, I hear two versions of this. One describes the so called skin effect, and the other claims that you don't get a shock because your muscles don't respond to those high frequencies.

  • both are right. so if you had a hv needle

  • All those Tin Foil Hats are unnecessary?

  • the resonant patterns of electrical vibration! JFC

  • Wireless electricity is a really bad idea, because ANY piece of metal within range of the broadcast will become electrified. Can you see a problem with every steel beam, screw or bolt in a building becoming electrified with that amount of energy? At best it would be inefficiently wasting power uselessly at worst it would cause fires and create havoc with any sensitive dc equipment (computers, anyone?)

  • It's tricky, isn't it? You could probably use it as some sort of giant switch with thousands of connections, though.

  • I dont think so... as he said, Tesla had a much stronger coil and it never caused fires... and the guy who filmed this was obviously using some electronic equipment and it seemed to be working fine even if it was that close to the coil... close enough to light up the fluorescent tube which requires 110V AC, while his phone or camera uses less than 12V DC for sure. i think its ingenious and the only reason it hasn't caught on is because this energy can't be monetized.

  • yeah, a beard would be pretty nice

  • I wish i had a beard

  • So why am I paying for electricity if this machine is able to deliver wireless energy!??? ANYONE???

  • your government. Yes, your government seized Tesla's patents and left us with the oil industry and left Tesla to die alone in a hotel room.

  • THANK you. I agree. Edison and J.P. Morgan ruined the most genious human being this world has ever known for the almighty dollar... Pathetic.

  • i know !!! just imagine if tesla got his way. the world would have been soo much different. energy would be at a different level than what it is now. whats sad is tesla wanted to help the world and poor countries to make everyones energy equal and in turn make poor countries have a better economy and health. he is a hero. i argue with college professors who thought he was crazy. he was not with out him we would not have the technology we have today. woo yea

  • I agree that Nikola Tesla was a great inventor, and we would be without many things if he was never around. Computers, Radio, etc..., but what you must understand is electricity of course emits radiation. Do you really think our world would be a better place with massive amounts of radiation radiating out everywhere on the planet? It's possible we could all be dead to this day if he was succesful. Anyone want to correct me if I'm wrong?

  • well tesla was around that all of his life and never had any cancer or experiment related disease, he died of old age. also he lived to 80 thats a dam fine age to live at taht time, also certain resonanting waves dont hurt other matter because it has to resonate at that frequency. we all have to remember taht his experiments and coils were differnet than what we create in our back yards . who knows . when he died the gov took his plans and have never released them.

  • The energy requirements for a large scale transmitter would be massive, and there would be huge amounts of radiation created. Also, as far as I know Nikola did not experiment with large scale transmition all that often. The coils we build are exactly the same, but tuned for voltage step up not energy transfer. Radiation is a by product of electricity, and not part of the waveform as far as I know... Comments/corrections?

  • You say 'radiation' like it's a thing. It just means 'something radiates'. What you don't specify is the type. Talk about radiation without stating the type involved is pointless.

  • EMF (Electric and Magnet Fields) radiation, but there is little evidence to back it's dangers as of yet. It's possibly related to increased chances of developing cancer. More importantly to this discussion is RF (Radio Frequency) radiation. Also know as nonionizing radiation. It is said high levels of exposure can cause heat related effects. Even to the point of skin burning. Animals (mainly certain insects) that require the earths magnetic field to function normally.

  • Seems like it would be hard to have tv and radio... not that it's largely being used for anything we'd miss already... At any rate, if energy could be transmitted, how would you charge for it?

  • who said anything about charging for it? when Tesla invented this he wanted to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor by providing energy to all for free! He also talked about harnessing the energy in the ionosphere basically providing free energy.. and also using the ionosphere to distribute this energy globally!

  • Thank you for sharing this with us! When I was there in 1999, there was a neon sign near the coil that lit up when it was running. They were not directly connected to each other - they did not need to be!

  • Nicola Tesla is Aroman..from Croatia..so he's an Romanian born in Croatia!

  • Tesla was Serb!!! :-P

  • thats correct, tesla was serbian.

  • nicola tesla was a genius who was born too soon.

  • This is a very cool demo!
