  • Great tip!

Is there any chance you could make a video on vocal tweaking with effects (EQ, comp, delay, etc and any send FX) for a song similar to this example? I've seen a lot of videos on EQ'ing but they never really state the Why they do certain things, etc.

    Thanks for these GREAT videos!

  • Great video! Very usefull info

  • awesome tip homey!!!

  • Another way I've seen to bring out vocals without huge volume adjustments is to dup the track, add in an EQ and boost the high end, usually around 4 to 5k and bring that track up until the effect takes hold. Brings out the high end and makes the vocal more understandable and clear.

  • I never understood the time adjuster plugin...a video about that would be great :)

    Great video, thanks.

    Cheers

  • @juca2929 The time adjuster plugin is to compensate for differences in time delays on various tracks in the mix due to various plugins across those tracks. E.g. your kick drum track may have a particular waves plugin that creates a delay (similar to latency) of 5 samples, which would naturally make that kick drum track play 5-samples later than the rest of your mix. So you add the time adjuster plugin to compensate for that.

  • @AnonKeys Many Thanks :)

  • top notch stuff brotha :) God bless!

  • uuhhh please dont make me out to be a fool, but I've never noticed that delay monitor in each track in the volume display....i found out how to switch it over by command clicking it...i have never used a delay compensation plugin or moved something over by any number of samples..hows come I do not notice the delay from plugins on any of my sessions

  • @joe0404 Same happens to me sometimes, it all depends on how complex the plugins you use are, most times. You may just be using plugins that don't add any delays to your tracks; especially in a very simple mix.

  • Great tip as usual, and I love the way u clearly show the difference. I look forward to your videos, thanks Joe.

  • Really nice, it gives the vocal a kind of "warmth" too without changing the character of the original. thanks for another really good video.

  • Thank you! Great tip!

  • Good Tip!!! Thanks Joe!!!

  • Very cool way of getting the vocals through the mix. Is there any way you can do a video on multi-band compression? I'm not sure how to use it
