  • he's been a bit of a cunt in his career......should of stayed with trapeze ....but has a fuckin amazin great voice,

  • what tha fuck. that is a voice. and not only of rock

  • 1:26.... just aaah!!! \\m//

  • 1:23 :D

  • Name me another singer that has this.....Soul, Feeeling,Rock,Power, Falsetto, and also plays and writes??? enough said.....

  • Glenn is the only one who doesn't just make me like his voice and his music. He simply makes me love him. Everything he does is so special, and he looks so kind as a person.

  • um yes Hughes is da man!! But in no way shape or form has Gillian lost it...just check out any new stuff with the OTHER MAN ..Mr Steve Morse!!

  • @BWPGuy I'm sorry but Ian Gillan can't sing like he used to

  • The VOICE...all unto it's own. Period.

  • BOB HOPE!!! BWWWAAAAHHAHAHAHA! Yes, it's a close resemblence. But, MAN, this dude has the most stunning voice! I only "discovered" him in the last 6 months and I'm 46. He's just incredible.

  • Bob Hope with long hair...

  • @marcarl Juas jua jua juaaaaaa, that's right man!!!!

  • what a gift

  • Just discovered this, purely amazing! The change in the voice and all the different colours from dark and deep anger until high screaming despair are expressing the feelings of being mistreated in a way that gives me goose pimples.

Can't stop watching videos from this guy. Thanks a lot for uploading this one!

  • If Halford is metal god ,this man must be rock god ...masacre ...

  • My god, it makes my flesh creep every time I hear his MAJESTIC VOICE!

  • wow!! way to maintain the range!

  • coverdale CAN NOT sing as he did ,plant the same and gillan cant hit anythin ,glenn gets older he gets better.nuff said

  • wow.... now without sounding like a moron....is this the same Glen Hughes that sang on Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iommi SEVENTH STAR?? Because he looks completely different. GREAT singer....

  • @SonnyGTA it is the same singer.

  • Everything he makes, sings or just touches results pure gold! Amazing! Hughes is huge!

  • Este hombre tiene la mejor voz del rock, este hombre tiene la mejor voz del planeta

  • EPIC !!!!! \\\mm/////

  • Oooooh -_-

  • every single piece of me has enjoy it

  • Glenn hughes.. is really out of this world.

when someone call them unique in their singing or whatever they usually are not so unique, but glenn is a freak of nature. just wonderful

  • Glenn is the only former member of Deep Purple who still rocks every single day.

His voice is a gift from God.

  • cool mistreaded form David coverdale..

  • Si querias escuchar voz

    hay tienes

esto va mas alla de los requisitos normales

como tener potencia, ser afinado o tener variedad de tonos

el timbre de su voz es precioso, y su tecnica supera a muchos.

  • 1:14 THE POWER

  • glenn un mago con la voz y un maestro de musica para el resto de los mortales esto es cantar con el alma

  • Glenn Hughes its a fucking GOD

  • Best EVER rock singer ! Even better than Freddie Mercury.

  • dear glen hughes , your voice wash my soul!!!! i love you

  • A ton of effects on the vocals - not very pure......I wonder how much of this was actually him?

  • @MissEgasMoniz Reverb and Delay, that's it. So what ? He's an amazing singer and considered by many one of the best.

  • @eusoufodaviu He is good - no argument there - good bassist too!

  • @MissEgasMoniz Just one thing...check for him singing "You Keep On Moving" Live at the Basement...and you'll see.

  • Coverdale has shit left in his voice.

  • What a fantastic singer. Such a beautiful natural tone and incredible range.

  • Hmmmm, powerful and high falsetto, isn't it?

  • 1:25 - 1:29 OMFG

  • great...glenn hughes wipes autotunes&melodynes asses off ^

  • @TheAshBand I'm convinced that if he even tried using autotune and that other shit, the computer monitor would crack followed by the wiring in the computer instantly frying and starting on fire because it isn't used to processing someone this talented.

  • I worked for him last year....a real gentleman...doesnt think much of roger daltrey though...i wouldnt blame him...i hate the who...fuckin over rated as who...long live hughes...we love you glenn

  • i love this guy!!!

  • me like a lot..hugh rules...............

  • No olvides a Ronnie James Dio!

    Greats Vocalists of rockkk!!

  • Glenn Hughes you are astonishing.

  • GOD!

  • Wow. He can still sing really good.

  • Mind blowing. The Voice of Rock spins your soul!!!!

  • I saw this guy do a tribute to ronnie james dio in the high voltage festival with heaven & hell. he was fukin awesome!

  • Glenn Hughes is incredible! He's a prodigious talent. What a treat this video is for Deep Purple fans. Into "my favorites" this goes.

  • After all these years,he's still not a patch on David Coverdale. And what's that ass wipe Turner doing there?

  • @SuperXU1 Your unable to 'really hear' opinion is worthless. Coverdale's great but let's be honest.

  • @SuperXU1 Coverdale is a great vocalist, but get real. Technically, Glenn blows Coverdale out of the water. You prefer Coverdale, that's fine, but in no way is he the better vocalist.

  • at the end ,are the drummer speak by phone :D

  • @9104285128

    Thats a metronome,not a phone

  • I just love how he can be incredibly powerful and incredibly intricate... at separate times or at the same time. Incredible.

  • What an amazing voice

  • amazing really

  • Wow and Turner here!:)

  • what the fuck!!! that was amazing!

  • omfg

  • OMG 1:29 , 2:05 amazing

  • i would love to hear Glenn do a cover of Steve Vai's touching tongues, singing devin townsends vocal solo!!

  • enough already said GLENN, but i have to- you`re the BESSST!!!

  • enough already said GLENN, but i have to- you`re the BEST!!!

  • O_O porca troia... \m/

  • Comment removed

  • Whether you like rock music or not please do not say that this is not good. OMG! Much respect!

  • The Best

  • This is some badass singing! Woho!

  • great video! can you imagine reunion of Hughes, Blackmore, Coverdale & Lord for just a couple of concerts? called ...let's say ...Stormbringers? :)) And that's without any current members of DP :)

  • I saw an interview where Glenn Hughes said he thought he was the shit - that is until he heard Paul Rodgers. Hughes has always been a great vocalist, though. Even from his Trapeze days you knew the guy had an incredible voice.

  • I hate Hughes & Turner !

  • edgar winter still have great voice?

  • glenn hughes is only one!

  • Супер!!!!

  • IS INCREDIBLE!! All singers lost it (high register). But he's amazing!!! A ten.

  • what you name are one of the most difficult styles of a true singer and glenn can do it.dickinson can not.all are great singers but glenn is a gifted one.check his sabath records.true metal.or phenomena.

  • Glenn is amazing , technically speaking. But what I consider a great singerI takes much more than hitting soprano notes and constant falsetto singing. I like singers that steal the show because of the feelings and emotions they display while on stage ( Coverdale, Dickinson, )Glenn , in my view seems to be giving a lecture on high pitch singing, and I do not want that. If I ever do want it, I'll go to a singing academy

  • This man may be the finest, most soulful versatile vocalist on the planet.

  • @jfrockon I'm with you man. Unbelievable, can't be duplicated, one of a kind display of extreme but controlled range and emotion.

  • @jfrockon youtube.com/watch?v=hy6WLBvBXaI

  • @TeamBCC1 I already saw this a little while back........ Thanks :)

  • Give me Ozzy any day over this shite.

  • glenn is much better than david coverdale, joe lynn turner and ozzy osbourne.glenn's voice is very impressive and glamorous so,glenn is better than james dio in this regard.

  • It's a question of taste. Glenn is more soul vocalist, Ozzy and David Coverdale are pure hard rock and heavy metal. Personally I like Coverdale more than Glenn, but Glenn is still goog. Same with Joe. The only problem is that Joe and Glenn cover Deep Purple and Rainbow too much, which gets me mad a bit. They can't come up with something new that is totaly unique and their own.

  • Listen to Coverdale's Northwinds...

  • @thekaobe Glenn and Dio are every different. Dio has alot more power and mid-punch. Glenn can reach higher notes. But yeah, Glenn is alot better than Coverdale. To even mention Ozzy with Glenn Hughes is blasphemy xD Ozzy can't sing for shit.

  • very* XD

  • @kranen1 kranen 1, you're right , Glenn has a good voice, Dio also has a good voice. But Coverdale is much better,is fantastic, Coverdale is from another galaxy, from the same galaxy with Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, Joe Cocker or Paul Rodgers, from the galaxy of best rock voices

  • Eh?? Are you serious? Joe Cocker, Paul Rodgers? The best vocalists in rock are Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Hughes, Ian Gillan, Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury.

  • @kranen1 hahaha ok. no comment. i was talking about quality voices if you understand. maybe for you everyone who screams is a great singer( i am not talking about Glenn Hughes , a singer that is really interesting, or about Freddie Mercury wich is great and is not a rock singer) . all those voices i talked about in my first comment are very complex voices. I don't care if they are rock voices or not .With all the respect,Rob Halford,Bruce Dickinson and Ian Gillan are limited as singers

  • Rob Halford is not limited as a singer, he's probably the best singer in every aspect in every genré ever. He's probably the best singer in history. Even Luciano Pavarotti said it, the best opera singer ever. To say Rob Halford is a limited singer is just ignorant. It's just not ignorant, it's so stupid that it doesn't even exist. Maybe Coverdale is the best singer in your opinion, but he can't match Rob Halford. Sorry man.

  • Nobody that can cover almost 4 octaves is a limited singer. Man, you need to think about what you are saying. You are 22 years old, and probably not that educated in this.

  • And "scream", come on man. It's just that they can reach those high notes. I hate when people call it "scream" just because they can't do it themselves. I can do it, I can cover over 4 octaves, can reach Soprano C any day. But it's not Wider Range = Better singer. You have to combine it with feeling, and power.

  • But hey, you can think whatever you want about who's the best singer. It's all up to personal opinion. Some folks like Dio, some like Gillan, SOme like Coverdale etc.

  • @kranen1 I totally agree with you when you say that if you have a Wider Range it doesn't mean you are a better singer. But I want to tell you that also who plays higher notes doesn't mean that is a better singer.I understand that you are a big fan of Halford ,and it's your choice and as you said it's all up to personal opinion.I have 15 years of music and i work in music industry so i think i am pretty educated in this so it's not about my age or something like that. It's about personal opinion

  • Yeah, indeed :)

  • @rockerbestial 9.Bryan Adams,10.Ted Neeley ( he plays Jesus in the 1973 version of Jesus Christ Superstar), and with your permission, i will put on the same position Paul Rodgers and this Glenn Hughes ( from the last 10-15 years, not the young Glenn Hughes)

  • I have been in the industry a long time too. Since the 70s. Yes, personal opinion is a factor but, there is no denying the vocal skill of Hughes. Wider range does not mean better singer true. That's only one tool. Soul, phrasing etc are others. Now while I love his voice, I can only take it for so long because it can "wear me down."

As a guitarist I have my favs that are amazing. But again, I can only listen for so long. Variety is important...

  • @kranen1 by the way, what is your top ten in world male voices? My favourites are : 1. David Coverdale,2.Robert Plant,3.Carl Anderson(i suppose you know him, he was Judas in the 1973 movie version of Jesus Christ Superstar),4.Joe Cocker,5.Freddie Mercury 6.Graham Bonnet ( from Rainbow) ,7 Steven Tyler,8.Eric Martin(Mr.Big),

  • Hmm, probably. 1. Rob Halford 2. Ronnie James Dio 3. Glenn Hughes 4. Ian Gillan 5. Freddie Mercury 6. Eric Adams 7. Michael Kiske 8. Tim "Ripper" Owens 9. Sammy Hagar 10. Matt Barlow & Bruce Dickinson. Hard do decide, there are so many great singers xD But I think these guys are my favorites :P

  • @kranen1 Yes...I've forgotten Sammy Hagar. Shame on me . He is a great singer indeed , one of my favourites. I have to recognise that i have never understood why many peoples are thinking that David Lee Roth is a better singer than Sammy Hagar. But as we said few minutes ago, it's about personal opinion. I love Sammy Hagar's voice. As you said, there are so many great voices in the world . I also like very much voices like : Chris Norman, Bonnie Tyler, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen, Bono

  • Yeah, Hagar is way better than DLR imo :P

  • @kranen1 my favorite singers are Glenn Hughes, Rob Halford, Tony Martin, Ian Gillan, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Ray Gillen, James Hetfield, Sully Erna and Ronnie Van Zant

  • Yeah, gleen is the best!! ;)

  • @thekaobe Love this mans voice)))

  • Wow,his voice iz amazing...I really love this guy! Fantastico

  • great singer!!!

  • In case you don't recognize...Glenn hits the Soprano C (one octave higher than the Tenor C) in this video. Speechless.

  • D=

    JEEZ

Meh, I wish I could sing that soulfully

  • Yeah, but in falsetto :P

  • meh...speechless.

  • Gillan is my all time favorite vocalist, followed by Hughes. I wish they sang together!

  • Hughes has awesome voice in rock, but after Ian Gillan. Ian is #1 rock vocalist in my opinion!

  • "Come Taste the Band" was such a great "album"

5 years ago, i bought the CD 30 years after the album came out / 20 years after i had last listened to the album and i was thrilled that i remembered the words to the songs ...

and now i am going to pop open another beer and listen to that wonderful "album" after not having listened to it in a couple years - love and peace , brian

"when night time comes, and i`m 10,000 miles away.

    just lose yourself,

and watch the band kick back and play."

  • It's a masterpiece- CTTB. ´´To lose you I'd rather see the endless time of tpace go passing by...¨¨

  • and lemmy and paul stanley

  • Holy shit the old guy still has it!! What a range and power in that voice. Amazing.

  • @baredas just think. that's a guy in his 50's!

  • HUGHES and DIO are the only 70´s singers that keep the same exact voice from those days.......HUGHES RULES

  • What a voice! He should have been the singer for Deep Purple when he was in it!

  • Glenn Hughes he's for the Deep Purple Mark 3 bass guitar member

  • He was. Just not the lead singer! ;-)

  • sometimes lead.. "co-lead".. coverdale/hughes shared lead-vocals duties on all 3 mkIII/IV albums except for (Mistreated, he did sing in the end though.. dont know if one should count that), Holy Man (lead - Hughes), Soldier of fortune (lead - Coverdale).. on the come taste the band album glenn hughes lead on gettin' tighter and this time around.. shared with david coverdale on you keep on moving.. rest of the songs on that album david sang

  • es el mejor Video de todos

  • ¿quien fue el puto que le puso 1 estrella al video?

  • This is a Coverdale song definitively, but Glenn make its so outstanding, so brilliant... he's great.

  • Magnifique!!! Fabuleux!!! Merci!!!

  • Mr. Voice Of Rock is the best!!!!!!!

  • wow....and hes 57 next week!!

  • Glenn is my god...............

  • and my

  • I Saw him tonight in Norway. He still got it, wow

  • Que capu... sin palabras

  • what the hell??? WoW It's amaizing

  • there are no words to describe glenn's voice. pure perfection.

  • Wow....immense.

  • Gillan is my favorite vocalist. But he can't his those high notes anymore. Sure, he's over 60:-) Hughes actually gets better as he ages.

  • !!!Ian Gillan didn`t lost his register of his voice¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • What register are you talking about??

  • Gillan spoiled his voice with Sabbath, besides he never had singing lessons, probably his technique was not too good, after the sabbath period he got a surgery. He started to sound different after that, you can see the change in the album perfect strangers. His register is better than 70's but he cant do high notes beyond the E5 or F5.

  • Yes, he did.

  • 1:13

    Epic.

  • I want Glenn Hughes + SteelHeard

  • ¿Steelheard or Steelheart?... If You Try To Say It... YES!!!!! Glenn +Mike Matijevic would Be So Amazing to hear!!!!!

  • No link, the styles are too diferent. Glenn sings soul, steel heart used to play hard rock with glam rock

  • ... It's Only My Point Of View, but I've Heard Glenn Singing in Aina (in songs that sound like Power Metal), or with John Norum in the disc Face The Truth... or in Brazen Abbot, in Nostradamus... all they aren't Soul and Glenn Still Sound Amazing.

  • oh really? haha sounds interesting

maybe he can touch the hard rock side of steel heart but I think that are too separated. Anyway long live rock n roll =)

    saludos

  • I want Glenn instead of Paul Rogers!

  • I want Queen + Glenn Hughes

  • Quite simply the very best there is.

  • Glenn Hughes = Freddie Mercury

  • haha I dont get the analogy

  • eh? you say?

  • glenn Hughes = freddy mercury

    ....

doesn't make any sense to me

  • 1:14 BOW DOWN TO HIS VOICE

  • Anybody remember Trapeze? That was the Brum band that featured Glenn, future Whitesnake axeman Mel Galley (Listen to the Trapeze track "Your Love is Alright"- if you can find it.). That's where Glenn was when he got the call to sing for Blackmore and Company. Hughes is stil in good form here, thirty-something years later.

  • Remembers Trapeze.

    : D

  • This is probably 100th time I'm watching this video. 1:25 & 2:04 send chills down my spine.

  • OMFG 1: 25 still blows me away everytime I watch this.

  • 1;16 is much harder to control he has the voice of an angel

  • He's one of my favourite Black Sabbath singers

  • deep purple singers-he was in sabbath in only one album...

  • so?

  • fuck his chest power is insane at about 1:20
