I just wanted to point out something that you missed, it's not a very big deal, but you spent a lot of time talking about how Enigma wasn't microing his eidolons but you never actually mentioned HOW he should've microed his eidolons. Since this is pointed towards new players, they might not know what you're talking about.
@Kane2009 yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Some more explanation about what advantages microing would give would have been nice. I really appreciate the videos though.
Ok last comment by me for this vid: to expound further on why I liked this video. The format is well done. Chalkboard at the beginning? Nice touch. Slow motion for critical team fights? Yes! Skipping over to parts of the replay where important points need to be made? Excellent. Please continue your "Learning with Lumi" series; they're looking more and more professional each time.
Also it turns my stomach to see how many spectators make the same kind of comments like "this guy is so noob", "this guy is terribad" when watching live Dota 2 games. Just goes to show there are a lot of assholes in Dota 2.

Generally speaking, DotA players love to blame pretty much everyone else but themselves, but the only way you'll really grow as a player is if you're more critical of yourself because then you'll be open to learning what you can do better. If you take a random replay from any player in Lumi's subscribers and analyze it I'm sure many faults could be found, even if your team won that game and overall, you played well.
Hey Lumi, this vid was way better than the Lich one because you had a better beginning section and you took out a few scenes and analyzed them in slow motion, etc. I suggest going into greater detail in the overview, don't rush it. Spend some more time about the overall hero concept and about the different roles that hero can play and what ones they are most optimal at doing. Talk more about different starting, extension, and luxury items for that hero.
when im enigma i know that my skills takes alot of mana so what i do when im out of mana and i need to meka. i take a soul ring cuz like lumi sad u need to help ur team mates win a team fight ~_~ but that takes so much gold. so i sometimes ks :D

Maybe not go into huge detail, but at least point out common items and why they're important or maybe some items that people get, but shouldn't. yo lumi, i suggest add a section explaining why a hero playing the role he/she is (support, carry, semi-carry, jungler, e.g...) base on skills, state, attack animation... these videos are aiming for new players and not all players know why X heroes play Y role and all other role that hero can play.
like in this video u can add sth like what is a support and why does enigma should be played as support. why is he one of the best junglers. why should enigma give up cs to weaver.
OMG, i HATE it when someone creep pulls when the enemy creeps are beating on my tower. I always end up getting a much harder lane cause i run out of resto items.
@TheQueHegan True. If the enemy creeps are at your tower the camp should not be pulled, then i just do stack it. Some time i end up with 4 stacks there and just let my carry clear it :)
@Ghork1 , well when you reach a level of 30+ games won (like 70-40 I mean) you can get games with players who at least know how to play Dota. I'm trying to make it to a Dota2 league now, where I can win some money too(there are free too). And a thing, I really like about Dota2 is - the same gameplay as Dota, but has the best taken from HoN and LoL, plus some great innovations.
@Ghork1 , you not enjoyng Valve's games does not mean the company is not gamer-friendly. They have the sence to be profitable and good to the consumer as well - tf2 is a g8 example it's made by the poeple who made the hl mode, most like Dota2 and now its free, but making money again with the shop. You just can't compare them with $2.. I agree in DotA its hard to find a good pub game, but there are really high skill leagues if you are that good. And now with Dota2, they will be many more of them.

And Gabe said sometimes you just have to leave, to get the pizza or smth, or your i-net just stops, so they can't punish leavers.. Valve are really gamer-friendly and thats one of the reasons I like Dota2 even more than DotA.. And, dude, if you like Hon heroes and gameplay more, there is just no way, no matter what change Valve makes, you won't like it more. It's just Dota2...

i play dota 1 skrims and set matches only, since really its terrible for pubbing, and in hon i play both skrims and pubs.
sure sometimes you have to leave, and sometimes i will leave in hon as well, its not like you cant leave at all, there's just an incentive to stick around and play the match, and due to that i feel that the overall skill in pubs is much higher. which makes hon great for pubs
@r0yaLe2k11 I was hoping dota 2 also would be great for pubs since i do enjoy playing with the hero pool, and i feel like currently the top end pro game is at a higher level in dota than in hon, but the way it is now unless something drastic happens I think i'll have to stick to HoN espacially since the engine just gives me a worse feel than hon, and dota 1. (valve beeing gamer friendly is not something that i have noticed, (nor the lack of) since really i dont like their games.
@exosfear512 no exact item build is defined for heroes in dota mate. Ofcourse there are items which suit the hero very well, such as radiance on spectre, but it really depends on game flow, strategy and heroes (for example, if ur vsing lycan, u might want a ghost staff if youre an int hero), so the best thing you can really do is experiment with different item combos and figure out which works best in certain situations for yourself. As lumi said, dota is not newplayer-friendly.
@Ghork1 . The game is in early beta and you try to look at it as a finish product?! Valve is not S2, they actually don't try to use beta as advertising.. (and yes, I was in HoN beta too) The level of the pub is low?! Normal, there are lost of LoL, HoN and people who are in this genre for the first time..
And btw, the gameplay is slower, so what? Does that mean its bad in any way? No! Is it more fun to play than HoN? For me, yes and it depends fully on the person..

@Ghork1 Fine, i'm dumb.. but so are all the big sponsors who choose Dota2 over HoN : ) Actually the game in beta had more tournamens than HoN had in its existence.. You would say "well this does not effect the gameplay it's slow bla bla bla" no, its not, but it IS AFFECTED by it. It's more balanced than HoN (don't say no, you know IceFrog is better at this) better mods - DotaTV, faster matchmaking ect ect
In HoN you get much faster gameplay, no leavers, much better teamplay especially at higher ratings, and the game feels much more crisp. Both games are as balanced mostly due to captain pick, just the metagame differing. After close to 20k dota1 games I had really expected more
I reel really disapointed in dota 2, i am higher level pub player but not close to the pros, dota 2 pubs are full of leavers, its stacked with carries and very little teamplay. Asides from that the game feels really slow, and many ways just worse than HoN
@Ghork1 U cant judge a game by its players. Since its only beta not all the heros are there so yes the game is imbalance atm. Once the game comes out with more heros people will leave less and the game will be better. MUCH better than HON
@CaminDaR Yes and no, as right now there's no incentive not to leave the game unlike in HoN.
I know the game will change after release, but looking at HoN beta vs Dota2 beta HoN was in a much better state. But even worse, i feel like dota 2 is slow, and it just behaves less crisply than HoN does. I know things can change and unlike many people i'm not a fanboi for either, i've clocked 20k dota 1 games, 8k HoN games and only 45 dota 2 atm, so really things can change, but right now HoN wins
@CaminDaR Just curious what makes you think it will be better than HoN, what are the strong points of Dota 2 over HoN if you will? cause atm i dont see any, sure the hero pool is different, but that boat swings either way, and tbh there's many more underplayed dota 1 heroes, than there's hon heroes at the current time.
@ophiuchi13 as far as i'm concerned only good game Valve made is portal cause of the puzzle element, their fps engines are terrible, i'm a quakeworld, quake 3 arena player, and cs etc. is just terrible compared. I love steam cause of what it wants to do, but the whole interface is horribly laggy for what it does. So Valve imo detracts value rather than adds
@ophiuchi13 Icefrogs done a good job no doubt, he's worked hard to continue adding content and cuddoes to him for that, but its not like he's some sort of genius either, its not him that invented AoS or even Dota. 6.0 didn't add much from 5.x exept nerfing dusa, and fixing so you couldn't pool cash, many credits him with him beeing the reason dota went into esports, I call bullshit that was just in the natural evolution of esports and would have happened if Guinsoo stayed on as well
@Ghork1 Others say he's some kind of balancing god, i disagree, look at the dota metagame how many heroes are used and how many are not even touched. Asides from that with the implementing of captain pick (something he deserves credit for) if there's one really op hero at one point he gets baned and the metagame manages to create a balance out of the heroes avaible, admitedly the metagame is different in the 2 games, but i wouldn't say one is more balanced than the other, just different.
@ophiuchi13 thus icefrog is not really a reason in itself that the game should be better.
Currently i find the engine worse, i dont like the feel of last hitting in dota 2 etc. and it also feels extremely slow. that might be personal preference, but atm i see no single thing that adds to dota 2 over HoN (dont get me wrong i'd like it to be better, cause then i'd have a better game and thats good for me, but currently its worse)
I think it's almost always better to start at hard camp right away (with a little micro it is easy). Then move them to the easy camp, use your second set to go kill medium, then take level 2 stun to gank someone early.

@r0yaLe2k11 I was hoping dota 2 also would be great for pubs since i do enjoy playing with the hero pool, and i feel like currently the top end pro game is at a higher level in dota than in hon, but the way it is now unless something drastic happens I think i'll have to stick to HoN espacially since the engine just gives me a worse feel than hon, and dota 1. (valve beeing gamer friendly is not something that i have noticed, (nor the lack of) since really i dont like their games.

@exosfear512 no exact item build is defined for heroes in dota mate. Ofcourse there are items which suit the hero very well, such as radiance on spectre, but it really depends on game flow, strategy and heroes (for example, if ur vsing lycan, u might want a ghost staff if youre an int hero), so the best thing you can really do is experiment with different item combos and figure out which works best in certain situations for yourself. As lumi said, dota is not newplayer-friendly.

@Ghork1 . The game is in early beta and you try to look at it as a finish product?! Valve is not S2, they actually don't try to use beta as advertising.. (and yes, I was in HoN beta too) The level of the pub is low?! Normal, there are lost of LoL, HoN and people who are in this genre for the first time..
And btw, the gameplay is slower, so what? Does that mean its bad in any way? No! Is it more fun to play than HoN? For me, yes and it depends fully on the person..

@r0yaLe2k11 If you looked at my earlier post you'd realise that i mentioned that i know its in beta, and that currently its worse. I know things can change, but from basic engine feel i just have a much better feeling with HoN.
Currently there's no incentives to stop leavers, that may come, but i dont know if it will. What i'm looking for here is whats gonna make dota 2 good, not for things to stomp on it

@Ghork1 Fine, i'm dumb.. but so are all the big sponsors who choose Dota2 over HoN : ) Actually the game in beta had more tournamens than HoN had in its existence.. You would say "well this does not effect the gameplay it's slow bla bla bla" no, its not, but it IS AFFECTED by it. It's more balanced than HoN (don't say no, you know IceFrog is better at this) better mods - DotaTV, faster matchmaking ect ect

In HoN you get much faster gameplay, no leavers, much better teamplay especially at higher ratings, and the game feels much more crisp. Both games are as balanced mostly due to captain pick, just the metagame differing. After close to 20k dota1 games I had really expected more

I reel really disapointed in dota 2, i am higher level pub player but not close to the pros, dota 2 pubs are full of leavers, its stacked with carries and very little teamplay. Asides from that the game feels really slow, and many ways just worse than HoN

@Ghork1 U cant judge a game by its players. Since its only beta not all the heros are there so yes the game is imbalance atm. Once the game comes out with more heros people will leave less and the game will be better. MUCH better than HON

@CaminDaR Yes and no, as right now there's no incentive not to leave the game unlike in HoN.
I know the game will change after release, but looking at HoN beta vs Dota2 beta HoN was in a much better state. But even worse, i feel like dota 2 is slow, and it just behaves less crisply than HoN does. I know things can change and unlike many people i'm not a fanboi for either, i've clocked 20k dota 1 games, 8k HoN games and only 45 dota 2 atm, so really things can change, but right now HoN wins

@CaminDaR Just curious what makes you think it will be better than HoN, what are the strong points of Dota 2 over HoN if you will? cause atm i dont see any, sure the hero pool is different, but that boat swings either way, and tbh there's many more underplayed dota 1 heroes, than there's hon heroes at the current time.

@ophiuchi13 as far as i'm concerned only good game Valve made is portal cause of the puzzle element, their fps engines are terrible, i'm a quakeworld, quake 3 arena player, and cs etc. is just terrible compared. I love steam cause of what it wants to do, but the whole interface is horribly laggy for what it does. So Valve imo detracts value rather than adds

@ophiuchi13 Icefrogs done a good job no doubt, he's worked hard to continue adding content and cuddoes to him for that, but its not like he's some sort of genius either, its not him that invented AoS or even Dota. 6.0 didn't add much from 5.x exept nerfing dusa, and fixing so you couldn't pool cash, many credits him with him beeing the reason dota went into esports, I call bullshit that was just in the natural evolution of esports and would have happened if Guinsoo stayed on as well

@Ghork1 Others say he's some kind of balancing god, i disagree, look at the dota metagame how many heroes are used and how many are not even touched. Asides from that with the implementing of captain pick (something he deserves credit for) if there's one really op hero at one point he gets baned and the metagame manages to create a balance out of the heroes avaible, admitedly the metagame is different in the 2 games, but i wouldn't say one is more balanced than the other, just different.

@ophiuchi13 thus icefrog is not really a reason in itself that the game should be better.
Currently i find the engine worse, i dont like the feel of last hitting in dota 2 etc. and it also feels extremely slow. that might be personal preference, but atm i see no single thing that adds to dota 2 over HoN (dont get me wrong i'd like it to be better, cause then i'd have a better game and thats good for me, but currently its worse)

I think it's almost always better to start at hard camp right away (with a little micro it is easy). Then move them to the easy camp, use your second set to go kill medium, then take level 2 stun to gank someone early.
