  • according to the websit e I found the fruit contains 1% to 3% alcohol not enough to get an elephant drunk .

  • ..

  • that's a one hella party! :))

  • shit, so thats how i look every friday night?

  • this same video can be found in english... yeah the producers gave all the animals a bunch of food soaked in alcohol so they could make this award winning fake-documentary. so thanks to them people think elephants can get drunk from marula, and thanks to Disney people think lemmings walk off cliffs. (the producers forced them to crowd together at the edge of a cliff)

  • Very funny stuff, thanks for sharing.

  • @tallulah134 Thank you for stopping by and commenting. :)

  • This is a real video from a French documentary about Africa . You won't

understand a word, but the video's a hoot.

There are trees that grow in Africa which, once a year, produce

very juicy fruits that contain a large percentage of alcohol.

Because there is a shortage of water, as soon as the fruits

are ripe, animals come there to help protect themselves from the heat.

What happens next, you can watch for yourselves. Pretty funny!

  • @tmwalk Thanks so much for commenting and sharing. :)

  • @cypresso56 The trees actually don't contain alcohol. this video was a sort of "scandal". the animals in the video were given alcohol and made to look like the alcohol came form the fruit. Scientists have done studies and concluded that there are no alcohol contents in the fruit. the fruit are very high in vitamin c and the seeds are high in protein.

  • @vkotis

    you idiot..

the fruit ferments and the juices turn into alcohol.

you can do the same thing with a lot of fruits. dont believe me?

get some apple cider and leave it out with the cap off. then see for yourself.

  • @tmwalk Its not a french documentary - its made in south africa by the south african Jamie Uys - and released in english as Animals are Beautiful. This is just a french dub.

Furthermore, the footage has been debunked as a staged. Biologists have researched into the subject, and its all a myth. Over-ripe marula does not contain alcohol - search for the fruit on wikiped to get references on this matter.

  • falco y maricon

    chek in wikipidia about this..

  • they know how to have fun :)

  • @Hipnopotamus91 Indeed it seems so. :)

  • it's the MARULA tree

  • Thanks so much. :)

  • amarula is the actual drink, the fruit tree itself is called the maroela tree

  • Thanks for the info.. :)

  • 1:33 - 1:38 lmao :D

  • Thanks so much, Kinderrs, for clarifying this. :)

  • the fruit is called AMARULA

  • I do not know... it is in French and I do not understand it.

  • what is the name of that fruit

  • I do believe they say so in the video, however it is in French, lol.

  • does anyone know what kinda tree that is?

  • I would not know for sure.. supposed to be a French documentary.... you could be right.

  • It's difficult to believe that an elephant would consume so much of the fruit to get so drunk it couldn't walk... looks to me kinda like they've been sedated :/

  • I like the giraffes :D

  • They are most cool, no doubt! Thanks for viewing and commenting!

  • In the movie Animals Are Beautiful People by Jamie Uys, released in 1974, some scenes portray elephants, warthogs and monkeys becoming intoxicated from eating fermented marula fruit. Later research showed that these scenes were improbable and, in all probability, staged. Elephants would need a huge amount of fermented marulas to have any effect on them, and other animals prefer the ripe fruit.

  • I would not know, for sure, however, I do thank you for viewing and for commenting.

  • aww thats kinda cute

  • I thought so too! Glad to stopped by and viewed the vid and left a comment... greatly appreciated.

  • I don''t think it is sad, I think it is just something that happens annually.. About hangovers... FI am not sure, lol.

  • Awe...that is sad, I wonder if they get hang overs????
