If hiring ex-felons made sense, businesses would do it. I'd rather have an ex-felon be in poverty than a law abiding citizen. A rape victim honor student could be denied a job so her HS dropout rapist got it. That's BS.
Heathcare should go to the children who need it most or to those that can be helped the most with the fewest resources. Plenty of English speaking children are just as poor.
No one should have to pay for a benefit that they can't benefit from themselves.

You DO realize that most people with felony convictions are not violent people. They are drug users or sellers.
That whole War on Drugs policy jacked the number in jail to the point where only China is more jail-happy than us.

Drug users and sellers are agents of violence and death. Most of the drugs destroy the lives of those who use them. Some drugs cause dangerous behavior. Users who can't get the money often get involved in other crimes, etc. Mexico can't even control the drug related violence, which is funded by US "not violent people". The Taliban and other terrorists profit from drug trade as well. Drug abuse drains our resources that could be used to cure disease, etc. Don't tell me it isn't violent.

If someone threatens that ex-felons will commit additional crimes and cost taxpayers more tax dollars if taxpayers don't give them special benefits, I call that extortion.
The justice system doesn't make things like they were. Ex-felons can lose many rights. Many states strip voting rights. Sex offenders often have to register. Some impact gun, car, or medical licenses etc.
At your figure of $90k/year, I don't see how costing the state $450k over 5 years constitutes paying a debt.

Yes, of course most are white. In the US there are more whites than blacks in poverty. There is a white majority so what else would you expect?

Dont want to destroy your pattern but the Internet secondary use is to help tracking people on an individual basis. Therefore sharing a connection (including with your family) is not a fine idea. Usually, in order to track down an individual, people have access to a permanent number which determines the allocated IP number.
Just consider that two people setting up one account each to a site that forbids double accounts will get them busted if they share their connection the way you suggest.

I agree 100% on your top 3 worries.
1) Racial problems...why do you think Obama is in office? There is a reason. It is either to suppress civil unrest or to increase it ( I dont know their intentions as of yet).
2)Hyper-inflation....Definitely, thats the whole reason for these bailouts and stimus packages. They want to devalue the dollar so bad so people with starve.
3) Terror attack....I would bet my life it will happen this year. As soon as unrest begins.

haha yeah the cable companies are asses. The only company that makes it somewhat easy to work with is comcast - they work 7 days a week on rotating shifts...but they still suck as far as knowledge and customer service.

reg, i just read an article about obama and racism. seems since he was elected the rate of racial incidents has increased, the enrollment in hate groups has increased, and kkk activity has increased. on another not, mrs bush is whining that they had to entertain guests at their new home without proper dining room furniture. seems their exit strategy to leave iraq was the same as leaving the white house: NONE! when did they realize GW's term was up, when they were in the helicopter? assholes!

I have witnessed four recessions in my lifetime. This one will be worse because USA is a debtor nation now which never was the case before. Dollar will be devalued through monetization, the question is how soon.
