  • This version sounds like an 80's pop song.

  • the beginning reminds me of Sonic Colors Reach for the stars song

  • CURSE YOU SPIKY PIT!

  • If there's one thing Sega's always been great with its music. Even bad Sonic games have awsome sound tracks. Even recently they still continue making more awsome songs.(Sonic Colors, Sonic Unleashed, etc.)

  • Thumbs up if you hear the City Escape lyrics every time you listen to this.

  • I still have vivid memories of being at the store with my Dad, when he brought me my MegaDrive from Currys/Comet one weekend, then when we went to buy Sonic 2 at Woolworths and again for journeys to get Sonic 3 and S3+K. Clearly these games left a distinct impression on me haha.

  • I knew these games when i was playing this in 1996 :') good lord.

  • Born in 1988.

My father couldn't figure out how to wire up the RF adapter to our old console TV, until he got it right, he accidentally left the volume at maximum because an earlier try resulted in low sound quality.

SSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (x150 db Sylvania Stereo Speakers)

    Christmas morning, 1994

  • @Hiei2k7 *sigh* memories, huh

  • WAIT!

0:38 Reminds me of Classic City Escape from Sonic Generatons

  • @finalformsonic classic cityescapes music was based on this section of the origional

  • @finalformsonic .... ugh... i wish someone other then me acctualy kept up with all that happens in the sonic community.... CLASSIC CITY ESCAPES MUSIC IS A MIX OF C.E & E.M ..... gosh....

  • @PogoStikStudios You're a little too late. Someone already corrected me. And stop acting like it's a big deal. The world won't end if everyone isn't like you.

  • @finalformsonic You mad?

  • @Hyperstar96 Not at all.

  • @finalformsonic It is! :D

Danger is lurking around every turn,

Trust your feelings, got to live and learn,

I know with some luck that I'll make it through,

    Got no other options,

    only one thing to doooooo!

  • Oh somobody needs to do a Escape from the City remix with this song!!!

  • @DrIvoRobotnick u sir are a lemon

  • @PogoStikStudios

    Why?

I just think Escape from the City Classic should get a mash up with this remix

    I'm not trolling yo.

  • I wish I was alive at 1994, I was born in 97 and could only taste this game in 2002 :c

  • @ProjectTaisaku I was born in 1994, and I hardly remember this at all...

  • @ProjectTaisaku

To be honest, you didn't miss much. I'd say these games and others that came out around the same time are a lot more respected now that they're classics.

  • @ProjectTaisaku

Same here kinda, only I was born in 1993 but didn't find S3&K until 2002 (which, to be honest, was actually the first video game I played)

I wish I knew about these games much earlier too :/

  • I love how, with these old games, what everyone remembers, what hits people hard with nostalgia, it's not the graphics or the gameplay or even the bosses, it's the music. It stays with us forever...

  • @Scarredgraymouse we never forget, because we love it so dearly.

  • That part at the beginning sounded awful, but otherwise...

  • I'm gonna fucking cry

  • Hot. Wels!!

  • I've been listening to a lot of these remixes and you know what? They'd make an AWESOME song pack for a Sonic-themed Stepmania.

  • I love this level! Nice remix, it's amazing! Brilliant work here...yeah it did almost make me cry.

  • completely agree with the whole bawling thing.

  • out of all the songs on project chaos besides malicous fingers and scrambled eggman which are some i really really like this is one of my faves endless mine ftw

  • 7 people still are digging XD

  • endless mine is my favorite 2 player level sonic 3 not just for speed but the music kicked ass i still have my genesis and it still works too

  • love it! check my own version of Endless mine in my channel!

  • it really is a sweet piece of music it give the feel of long lost love or tat the feelit give me while I do enjoy the original lot this one will alway hold a place in my heart

  • i get a sonic colors feeling from it. it sounds like a 2p mode or something.

  • It's like this song is to be like 'Sonic's had a good run, the best they'll ever have...now prepare for a series of games that won't live up to the original'

Original Master System, Genesis and Mega Drive Sonic games ftw :')

  • This one song holds all of my favorite memories from my childhood. And there aren't many of those to go around. Nice, no. EXCELLENT PIECE!

  • Nice, but it doesn't capture the tone and essence of the original.

It doesn't feel quite as mysterious and lonely, which is what I loved so much about the original.

  • 5 people are not eternaly loving Sonic!!!

  • Project Chaos did a GREAT JOB!!!

  • What game is this version in!?!?!?

  • @KingdomHearts1207 It's not from any game, this was an OC remix project.

  • @Rael0505 Oh really? alright! it still sounds awsome!!! XD

  • @KingdomHearts1207 haha you should download it, go to ocremix(dot)org . it's a great project with a lot of good mixes.

  • @Rael0505 Ok thanks!

  • @KingdomHearts1207 the original is from a competitive map

  • @Gam3Typ3 i know. a competition match on sonic 3. =) i love azure lake... XD

  • You know if a remix is awsome and the remixer has extrordinary talent if he/she is able to make a grown person cry at a old but great song

  • I wish I had some way of knowing what about this song makes it so emotional. It's not nostalgia... It was emotionally evocative when I was 12 too... What a terrific tune.

  • So beautiful...why didn't I appreciate what I had during my childhood more....times were easier then...life was simple...

  • Sonic Riders slowed down, plus a lot of different stuff!!! 1000/10

  • which sonic riders track?

  • This song (not neccessarily this particular remix) sounds a lot like a song that was cut from Pocahantas.

  • omfg this is so awesome. I love this song because it brings back so many memories of my childhood. But i hate this song because of the same reason. it shows me how awesome my childhood really was and I've never really thought back to it until i hear this song. It makes me wish things were how they were. times were easier

  • @DDRmania195 ,,,*sniffle* youre so right...and look at me now, im such a fat ass...I miss being a 9 year old fat ass, were none of these games got boring EVUR!...growing up sucks, but all we can do is hold these dear, and see the good in the new.

    Long Live! The Blue Blur!

(*sniffle* DANGIT, this song still makes me cry)

  • buy sonic mega collection, it might help take you back to those times. Or buy the new DS collection. Or download the games for Virtual Console. Or get an emulator. whichever is most convenient.

  • @DDRmania195 yeah no one told me that life would get consistently harder until eventually you had to slave away all day long just to survive. Life as a kid is basically all about having fun. FUN is actually the entire purpose of life. Life as an adult is all about suffering. Maybe if someone had told me that i'd have been able to prepare for it instead of loosing 4 years of my life to depression.

  • @waldoman7 the hedonists got it right.

"if your not enjoying your life, your wasting your life."

"pleasure and happiness, the only worthwhile pursuits in life"

"all work and no play maked jack a homocidal maniac!"

"KAMIKAZE SUICIDE!"-that one crazy banzai wrestler dude.

  • @Rougamaru

hardly. the one thing worse than a life of suffering would be a life without purpose. pleasure and happiness I don't need near so much as the satisfaction and fulfillment of truth and purpose. The problem is simply that i don't have much of that either for the moment.

  • @waldoman7 I was largely joking.

but, we decide what our purpose is.

I have chosen the pursuits of pleasure and power as mine.

    fuck whoever you want to.

    kill whoever you want to.

make your own purpose, and fullfill your life.

whatever purpose you choose, it is worthwhile.

even if only for you, and you alone.

    That is life, after all.

  • @Rougamaru

Spoken like a Sith Master. dang.

I won't say that such a philosophy is totally without wisdom, but i see a divine beauty in the capability for reason and choice and my love for that capability makes me want to protect others and help them reach wisdom.

  • @waldoman7 then have you found your purpose?

and if so, what is your purpose?

  • @Rougamaru yes and no. i need to know more about what lies beyond death and if there is a god or not, and i need a way to accomplish something on a global scale, or anything i do could be rendered irrelevant.

  • @waldoman7 god is irrelevant. that is why we have free will. the almighty power of choice. it's all apart of the grand design. but if you cannot accept that, then try this: decide here and now if god exists or not. he does if you decide he does, and doesn't if you decide he doesn't. depending on your decision, even if he does exist for everyone else, he doesn't exist for YOU, or vice versa. others choices on the matter have no power whatsoever. only YOUR CHOICE in regards to YOUR BELIEFS matter.

  • @Rougamaru as for accomplishing something on a global scale, there are various ways, violence and warfare are 1, sublety, espionage and crime another, negotiation, charisma, politics and diplomacy yet another, inspiration, the arts and humanities still another, and finally, the greatest and most difficult of them all, creation. if you don't understand the last, let me put it like this: free & clean energy, AIDS cure, denuclearization device, clone organs. you can bring about a positive new age.

  • @Rougamaru yes, but how does one accomplish any of those? it requires great amounts of money or influence. how does one come by such? the most obvious method of simply being better than everyone else in school and then selecting the right career is all but closed to me due to the unfathomable bad luck that has plagued me all my life and made college fail twice. So then what? invention of some sort? or befriending/manipulating the right people?

  • @Rougamaru god can be made irrelevant to me yes, but if he's relevant to other people and my goals involve other people then he is not totally irrelevant. The problem is that i strongly suspect god is evil and that therefore anything i can accomplish will be at best insignificant next to the fate that one day awaits us all. My goal is god's destruction, no matter how seemingly impossible that may be. The first step to that is finding proof of his existence or nature, which i'm still working on.

  • @waldoman7 you have decided upon a very unusual course of dedication. I must admit, despite the concern it causes me, I feel that your path will certainly be entertaining to watch, so to speak. you do realize of course, that your decision to make god evil MAKES him evil, right? also, the problem with bringing about big change is that it requires a relatively large investment of time. even the single most gifted individuals and even the groups of superiorily gifted people die of old age before

  • they ever see the changes they themselves began. if you wish to change the world, can you make peace with the fact that you will most likely die before the changes you have brought about become appearent? and how would you change the world? for the better? for the worse? in a clear way? in an obscure way? would it be subtle? or obvious? would it be more or less the same everywhere? or would different creeds, races, and nations react differently in extreme ways?

and, above all, are you ready?

  • A slew of positive words could be used to describe this remix. I will go with Terrific and Superb

  • Definitely one of my favorite remixes on this album.

  • This song is so cute. :3 I like how you did this!

  • @meowkie he didn't make it.

  • Dude, awesome remix! Total nostalgia when i heard this.

  • Does what all good remixes do... makes you want to hear the original.

  • I like the ending portion a lot.

  • Finally a cool song that is recognizable!

I'm looking at you Ice Cap and Lava Reef...

  • Awesome logo, and music

  • okay in retrspect momentary standstill does a good job too.

  • yea but if you do that then you cant download and strip mp3s from OTHER videos too. Stop thinking so 2 dimentionally.

Ripping audio can be applied to ANY youtube or flash video. Most of which dont have links to direct MP3 downloads and the like.

  • now if i cood juss find dis find dis on MP3 tunes!

  • download the video and strip the audio off so you only have the MP3 left.

  • You know, it'd be much MUCH easier just to download it for the low low price of FREE!!! from the project's webpage; s3k . ocremix . org

  • I love this song, it's so sweet :)

  • This is my favorite Sonic 3 song, hands down.

  • we need MP3!!!!

  • First of all, thanks to JSTM2000 for giving credit where credit is due. Too many people upload OC Remixes / songs from OCR albums without so much as the slightest reference to who put the actual effort into the song.

Secondly...people actually liked this remix? Wow. I'm kinda surprised, and flattered, to be honest. I made that what feels like AGES ago, and honestly, I don't really think that highly of it.

...despite the different username, this IS jmr, in case you never noticed ; ).

  • Is this a remix of the Lava Reef zone?

  • It's the Endless Mine competition zone from Sonic 3.

  • Thank you so damn much for creating this! It's actually one of my favorites of the entire project. It's ironic, I know, when it seems more people enjoy the work you yourself aren't that enthusiastic about than other work you're proud of but nobody else just seems to "get." It's part of being an artist, I guess, and knowing the work has reached someone, regardless of your own feelings about it, is a damn nice feeling. Thanks jmr!

  • Well, some people don't know or remember where they got things from, and end up being too lazy to mention. Others are just lazy in the first place.

Hoever, this track IS pretty good, so congradulations on the good track anyways dude.

  • Gotta giver you credit Jmr this is the only multiplayer song on project chaos that actually sounds like the source material.

  • This has always been my favorite song from it =3

  • best...song...EVER! 100/5!

  • i luv this video!!!!

  • MAN! my sis ALWAYS beat at this level wit tails.........CURSE U!!!!

  • I always thought this song sounded slightly sad. This game is an awesome childhood memory that you can't grow out of.

  • what is this????

  • Glory. Just...glory.

  • Crazy alot of people think the same about this track used in the megadrive game. Nice piece of music

  • The original is something that utterly completes your childhood, but this is something different. This is an absolutely excellent remix, it makes you think back to the time of this game, and cherish it as one of the best games in history. May this game be remembered throughout history as one of the entire video game industry's greatest creations of all time.

  • when I was a kid and i was sad I hear this song and makes me happy !!! and still does.

  • yes!!! lets make a point that this game was excellence in all factors. i used to play it on hot summer afternoons watchin my lil bro. everyone wanted me to come outside and play. hell no...i was on Angel Island all summer. thats y my girlfriend at the time broke up with me

  • sorry about ur girlfriend but i agree wit u

  • loser

...and this comes from a true sonic fan

  • Nah I understand him completely.

  • this is the best remix !!! :)

  • Great job jmr. You made this song even more great.

  • u ever listen to this as a kid and feel like crying for no damn reason? they did it to me again, 10 yrs later

  • thats soooo damn true.. that magical music

  • @dakidukno omg damn i thought i was the only one guilty of this

  • @dakidukno I dont remember if i cried back then or not but Project Chaos made it like an big onion being diced.

  • @dakidukno

lol hehe yeah ? how come..?

  • 0:40-1:06 got me close to the edge.

2:07-2:12 pushed me off. I bawled from there. :) Project Chaos did this song justice.

  • Project Chaos did the entire S3&K Soundrack justice.

  • @Aargh14

Project Chaos was probably the best OCR album that I've heard. And I've downloaded a couple of them lol

  • The very beginning sounds like a ringtone XD.

  • I love how the Project Chaos songs bring back the moods set by the original songs, yet more so. Especially the bonus levels, which have cheery themes. I love Project Chaos.

  • I love this music already, so this song made me keel over, crying tears of joy!

  • I absolutely love this song. In Fact, I actually wrote a song for EccentricElf 23 using this tune. I'm gonna post it later on so be ready peoples of the wurld!

  • I am eagerly awaiting the vid!

The song touched me so much, thank you.

    Had fun with you today!

    =D

  • The original brought a tear to my eye. This is truely amazing and brought more than one tear. Bravo!

  • Just simply awesome. Matches the tone the original set for the song perfectly.

  • Amazing.
