  • He is Serb.

  • Nikola Tesla was a Serb from Austria-Hungary (present day Croatia). It even says so in his letters and diary: I am equally proud of my Croatian fatherland and my Serbian origin. WTF people if Nikola Tesla says he is a Serb but that he likes the country he was born in (Croatia) what is there to argue about? Ethnically he is a Serb, he went to school in Croatia, then Austria, France, America.

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song in the background at 1:03 Thanks

    Croatians destroyed Tesla's house in 1995 !!!!

  • please excuse my ignorance for asking but if one received shocks of DC current would they be less dangerous and harmful than AC shocks?

  • Why oh why is that quack Hutchison featured in the same video as Tesla? Tesla was a genius with numerous patented inventions, his handy work is all around us. John on the other hand is a circus act at best. It's as if Daffy duck is endorsing Newton.

  • ALso the surname TESLA is a testament of who he was not, an ic .Why means as of my famility is jeba .NON slavic origin.

  • Also a comment he is Romanian blooded as well that is a possiblity as i have south american and ELVIS PRESLEY had gypsy blood ,we can go on but ultimately he was a human being.

  • Also Croatia has existed for a long time since 925 AD not just 1991 as someone stated why are serbs and croatians arguing when they are mixed as i am

  • BUT when he became an American citizen he was for the USA so all of the past is washed he can be considered an American

  • AS my relative was a sculpturer by the surname mestrovic who made one of tesla

and is well known in the USA in art circles and as a then yugoslav ambasator to the USA he stated tesla considered himself as a croat

  • actually he did consider himself as croatian and serbian as per one of his statements being proud of his origin and birth place which was croatia under austro-hungarian rule. When i think of him i think , well i am AUSTRALIAN being born here ,but my family is of croatian ,bosnian ,german ,italian ,russian origin but u are were u are born ,so im AUSTRALIAN as HE WAS CROATIAN

  • @mestrovic70

no man thats unlogical you twat, look australia is multicultural cluster fuck like usa there is no other choice than being an australian

second with your logic he is an austrian hungarian, since there was no croatia and serbia

third he was serbian orthodox and his famaly was serbian that makes him serbian

fourth with your logic Immanuel Kannt is now Russian since he spend almost his life in kaliningrad and was born there

  • @mestrovic70 also how can you have so many different races in your ancestry, its disgusting, what comes next in your family niggers and asians?

  • I dont know why are you arguing. Back when Tesla was born, Croatia didn't exist. It was under rule of Austro-Hungarian empire, which will break after World War I.

Croatian state came to life in 1991 when they broke appart from Yugoslavia.

Tesla was born in Smiljane, a village in today's Croatia, back than Austro-Hungaria. He was Serbian. Both his mother and father were Serbian. His Father was an Ortodox Priest(Serbian religion).

So, he didn't even know what Croatia is back than. He's Serb

  • @vampir94 He know what is Croatia. Look the passport of Nikola Tesla on Wikipedia.

  • @Alkarski1

Dude. Croatia didn't exist... How can Tesla have passport of Croatia when that state doesn't exist?

  • @vampir94 did you look the passport of Nikola Tesla on wikipedia

  • @Alkarski1

on Nikola Tesla passport writes “In the name of king of Austria, Hungary, Dalmatia, CROATIA and Slavonia”

This is the stuff that's written in his passport.

So, explain to me, where do you see Croatia as an independent state, or even state at all.

In this term, it's used as a geographical term(middle Croatia today, with Zagreb), Slavonia(Vukovar and stuff), and Dalmatia, coast of today's Croatia.

  • @vampir94 he didn't even know what Croatia is back than - you wrote that, and i said yes he knew. i didnt say that Croatia was independent in that time. Read what is written over the emblem on the passport on the left and right side. It writes "Kingdom Croatian, Slavonian and Dalmatian

  • @Alkarski1

CROATS WANT TO DIE WHY NIKOLA TESLA IS NOT CROATIAN BUT SERB AND BY HIS FATHER AND BY HIS MOTHER !

THEN THEY WOULD GLADILY BOAST THAT THEY ARE "SUPERIOR NATION".

So......today Croatia is territory where he was born (but in his time that was Austro-Hungarian Empire -not Croatia), so.......anyone can be born anywhere ( like Englishman might be born in Germany -it doesn't make him German).

a sta pise u gornjem kutevima ljevo i desno KR. hrv - slav -dalm Zemaljska vlada

  • @Alkarski1

Nikola Tesla was born to Serbian parents.

His father -Milutin Tesla was priest of Serbain orthodox church.

His mother -Georgina Mandić has many talents and Nikola Tesla from always was saying that he inherited his ingeniousness from her.

He should became serbian priest instead of his older brother who killed when fell from horse, but when Nikola Tesla was ill of cholera he succeeded to persuade his father to let him study electrical engineering in Graz.

  • @peacebre OK man, the guy Vampir94 said that Nikola Tesla had never heard for Croatia. I told him this is not true and look what is written on the passport of Nikola Tesla. You have picture at wikipedia.

  • @Alkarski1

Austro-Hangarian Empire existed till 1918 year.

From 1918 is Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians.

1929 changed name in Kingdom of Jugoslavija

    II world war

    1943 changed iin Jugoslavija

That's passport of countries that he can had.

Passport on Wikipedia that you mentioned I saw : and that is passaport of Austro-Hungarian Empire, it's written :

In name of his czar's and king's and apostolic majesty FRANJE JOSIPA I, czar of austrian, king of hungarian, dalmatian, croati

  • @Alkarski1 ..............and slavonian

So he couldn’t had passport of Croatia because Croatia become independent only just in 1991 years

NIKOLA TESLA IS SERBIAN AND BY HIS FATHER AND BY HIS MOTHER. CROATIA IS ONLY TERRITORY WHERE HE WAS BORN. Anyone can be born anywhere............and englishman might be born in Germany -it doesn't mean that he is German !

So..................I know your intention with trick with passport............so stop disturbing !

  • he wasn't forgoten as you claime, manager Edison sold it Teslas work as well as other peoples work as his own.

  • serbian jeeeeea

  • @loggsoul Romanian, i mean istro-romanian not serbian.

  • @PentruPatrie HAHAHAHHA his father was serbian Priest in ortodox church

  • @loggsoul Croatian! his mother was Catholic and he died a Catholic...Serbs in New York were his greatest enemies, including Pupin

  • @transfoby His mother was Serbian i think-not sure...also that doesnt mean anything,Hes father was Serbian Ortodox Priest...so ? better shut up he was born there and now u Croats think that hes Croatian...that a nonsense
