It's not just that they changed the equalizer. The major bummer is that they removed all the color in the background. In the final version all the buildings blend together with the sky because they are all the same color. Look:

Wipeout is definitely not a rip off of F-Zero. F-Zero may have come first but they could of had the same idea of futuristic racing. In my opinion, Wipeout is better.

ohh and wipeout has set the standard for other developers to follow when it comes to custom sound tracks. like how when you get big air, the bass filters out and the treble goes up, then the bass comes thumping back in when you land. and a couple of other cool little sound effects. I really didn't expect all those effects to work with a custom sound track. this game is brilliant. I still can't believe it's only 12 quid. the best buy on the ps3 imo.

I'm getting this game. Maybe not today.....maybe not tomorrow, but you can bet your family on it that I will own this game within 3 months! Little Big Planet first then maybe Metal Gear solid 4 THEN this beauty right here. The only reason I'm not getting this first is because I've got a pissy wee TV. I'm getting an HD 32 inch Sony Bravia within the next few months and the day I get that TV is the day I get this bad boy!!!!!

I really want to play this game first time on a TV that is up to the standards of the game. I know Little Big Planet and MGS4 are major titles with superb graphics capabilities(especially MGS4)but from all the things I've heard, watched and read about this succulent little puppy tells me that I simply cannot play it on a TV that is, for lack of a better phrase, a complete and total pile of shit! And for me it's £11.99 as I live *in a cave on an island near Europe!(*that's Britain)

make sure you get 1080p. I just got a 40 inch 1080p samsung. wipeout looks stunning on it. infact I've ended up playing through all my older ps3 games again cos my crappy old tv just didn't do the ps3 any justice. they all look soooo much better now. blu ray dvd's look amazing too.

Wow, that was an in depth and sometimes heated but always constructive discussion which traversed the complete dissection process of the subects and matters highlited at the top of the agenda! ye it got delayed by a long way cuz it failed epileptic testing because certain parts of the game had too intense light sequences which will trigger epilepsy in people who didnt know they were epileptic aswell as give some non-epileptic people head aches so they are redoing it , aswell as with the extra time putting in the reverse tracks and 4 new ships !

Well, this youtube vid doesn't justify what you can see on an hdtv @ 1080p (or even @ 720p). But judging from personal experience, i'm willing to bet most of the equalizer fx were taken out before the final build.
