yes hondas are tuff but I don't know why it looks like the fucking d series really sucks I've saw many of them not more than 3 years old even blow the shit out because of shitty rod bearings... they are total crap.

@beluga420 My Mom has a '98 D16Y7 with 312K miles. Just change the oil every 4K miles and it'll last you however long you need it. The reason these "blow up" all of the time is because they have a small oil capacity, and people often neglect to change the oil, so it's running dirty oil for a long time.

I told him to shift like 4 times into 20 seconds before he shifted the 4th and that we heard the rod knocking and he told me 'fourth always makes that sound' and I responded no you just blew the motor up... and 3 kilometers late it threw the rod ahahah

Had a buddy that bought a 2000 Civic Si while back. Thing would go thru a quart of oil every 600 miles and eventually lost compression. Only had 54k miles. Poor engine must of been abused bad.

FYI, I am NOT the original owner of this car. I bought it, the engine blew 6000 miles after. Yea, a shitty purchase. In any case, I swapped in an SI engine and it has been running perfect.

I rarely beat my car...that's what the ninja is for ^.^.

And honda makes great engines...only their D series were weak. Cheap to make though, so they ran them for so long...

Blew up after 900 miles. D16y8 with z6 head and stock internals, ran 20psi(Normal Driving) To 30psi(When racing) and has been running strong since 2007. D Series All The Way.,

a clutch plate wouldnt cause a knock like that. the knock was associated with the rpm.. so its definitely the engine.
