nice tank set-up like the planted tank but when those angels start to spawn those cards are breeding food, mine ate anything that look tasty to them white cloud minnows,tetras,etc. but on the flip side right after the slaughter, the angels had several batches of fry

When putting real wood in a fish tank, doesn't it make the fish tank messy?

If you put real wood into your tank without some preparation it will make the water look like tea. You need to soak it in a bucket of water, changing water everyday or so, for a few weeks. Or, you can boil it in water about 4-5 times. I did both and had wood for my tank in about a week. Good luck!

Great looking tank. Working on a new similar tank right now. Ive never been a big angel fan but it works in your tank. how many gallons is this tank. and how many cardinals do you have in there? must have cost a prety penny. Cardinals run about $3 each where im from. Oh and i saw a rummynose in there! i suggest some more. rummynose and cardinals are my favorite tetra.

This tanks is fantastically landscaped!!! I must admit you are a braver fishkeeper than me as I would never attempt to keep cardinal tetras with angelfish. All the fish look healthy and content. I get the impression this is a very large tank. I'd love to know more about the watts per gallon, substrate, etc.

I love the natural beauty of the silver angels and the schooling cardinals. I used to have a 110g(long) planted aquarium with a huge school of rummynose tetras and cardinal tetras. They are an excellent and gorgeous fish.

okay a few things:

1) you have WAY too many fish in there. once the angelfish mature they will claim territory and become aggressive.

2) your cardinals are a living feast! they make up part of the angelfish's natural diet.

3) i don't think your tank is oxygenated well enough. your angelfish seem to hang at the top, mine usually stay towards the middle.

4) i love your tank! you have done a great job aquascaping. congrats on a beautiful tank =]

The ammount of fish is just fine. Based on the size of the swords this tank is quite large. The plants will also help filter out nitrates, especially the mosses. Based on the fins of the angels, Id say theyre pretty mature (though not full grown just yet) and arent as bad as you think. With such a large school and insuch a large tank, there wont be issue with the angels if they are well fed.

Also, from the way the school of cardinals is behaving, I would assume the oxygen level is just fine.
