I think the thing that snags most people is they automatically assume that the words in the Bible have to be ALL from Jesus and not from an Emporer named Constantinople claiming to be words spoken by Jesus. How would they know. The sheep unquestionably accept that, and I think that's scary. That people are that open to manipulation.

I would follow Jesus straight into fire if he was standing in front of me, but I refuse to blindly accept anything as fact that comes from altered Texts that were not written by Jesus himself, and how much in fact of it has not been altered and skewed and manipulated in the early days of the Church is open to intense debate. Who wrote the Bible anyway, assuming for a minute it's unadulterated...it wasn't Jesus.

The biggest admission that these methods are not simply innocent innovation,imagination based or some kind of mind over matter is the use of spirit guides. John Hunt's definition of sorcery is funny. According to his standards - imagination,artistic creation, engineering and other creative pursuits could be considered sorcery. The Bible doesn't clearly define human capacity at all, so this allows every Christian apologist to set up their own subjective standards for what is acceptable or unacceptable. This is highly unreliable. Many apologists believe in miracles, divine intervention, God speaking to them, angels etc

Mr. Silva has a lot of his own definitions (which are quite different than the standard understanding) for things (Gnosticism). Anything miraculous done by saints are according to God's Will (not our own fallen, lustful desires). St. Paul (who did many miracles) prayed God to deliver him from an affliction and was told that this was not God's Will and that he was given this to gain humility (2 Corinthians 12:7-9).
