Why's it "too bad" this is from Al Jazeera? Who else is getting this out to international audiences? There are a lot of people who take a lot of risk to produce these films. Al Jazeera works with Indies to get deeper into these issues than most broadcasters are willing to go.
Because Al-Jazeera is useless. No offense, the facts might be someone spot on, but they are, for the most part, just as bad as CNN. And don't tell me Al Jazeera works harder than most. ABC does a better job, as well as PBS, and shows such as Frontline. When Shock-and-Awe first happened Al-Jazeera overstated casualties by 26%. Good on them...but why? When the Israel-Hizbullah war was going on they grossly overestimated as well, and to what end?
Al Jazeera covers stories CNN and ABC don't. Why? Because they have the flexibility and they work with independent filmmakers. Nearly every story in People and Power was produced by an indie filmmaker. AJE takes a different line on stories from CNN and ABC which doesn't cow tow and reveals what viewers worldwide believe is a far more balanced and international perspective and it's refreshing. Each and every news broadcaster makes mistakes and mis-reports and should be taken to task when they do.
Many American women prefer not to breastfeed because they are uptight about their bodies as sexual and maternal aspects. The formula manufacturers exploit that. There is also a bizarre class identity element in that poor women who use formula claim to have status with the disposable income. Breastfeeding correlates highly with income class and education.
They did it in America! Look how many American women don't even know how to breast-feed their babies! All women need to learn how to have their babies at home again; soon they will demand to put RFID chips in your babies! Don't let the governments take YOUR children! Learn the old ways to protect your children!
