I'm a HUGE tool fan, and Chevelle sounds nothing like them. Tool uses very non-formulaic broken bass-and-drum-driven rhythms and odd time signatures. Neither of the two do Chevelle use. Chevelle is a straight forward rock band that uses heavy rhythms to drive home their heavy guitar tone.

These guys fucking kick ass! He's so amazing at how well he plays and sings at the same time. Other people have tried it and either the guitar suffers or the singing does. I mean this in a 3 piece band too. It's one thing to have a frontman play as long as he's got a lead guitar to help. Just my simple opinion don't give two shits if someone doesn't agree.

I'm not knocking Shinedown at all b/c they are great, but I love Chevelle more. They sound the same in concert as they do on cd, which is hard to pull off.
