I just LOVE this lady! Doesn't it make you wonder what so many of the greats would have accomplished had they survived? We are so fortunate to have what material they did do in their short career/lifespan. God bless all of the greats that have graced us with their beautiful talent.
My favorite version is by Velma Middleton and Louis Armstrong at the historic concert - Satchmo at Symphony Hall, Boston, 1947. Velma did not have the richest singing voice, but when Louis joins her at the break they bring the house down.
First time i have ever seen Patsy Cline with long red / blonde hair ,she look's beautiful i'm not sure of the other lady in the picture, but she sure does look like a very young Billie Jo Spears afterall there was only 5 yrs difference in their age !
This is the very best interpretation ever of this classic song many have covered it this one from the Decca Years...February 13, 1962:
(Helmy Kresa, Carroll Loveday)
Musicians
Harold Bradley (6-String Electric Bass); Floyd Cramer (Piano); Ray Edenton (Rhythm Guitar); Murrey "Buddy" Harman (Drums); Walter Haynes (Steel Guitar); Randy Hughes (Acoustic Guitar); The Jordanaires (Vocals); Grady Martin (Electric Guitar); Charlie McCoy (Harmonica); Bob Moore (Acoustic Bass); Bill Pursell (Organ)
Impossible to imitate, irreplaceable, unforgettable: Patsy.
