  • What a tease. Here is a video that makes you want one only to find out they aren't produced anymore. Can you really not get one anywhere?

  • Try Googling Aeriane Swift Lite

  • @KyleWGlenn

  • my dads been getting me to train in light aircraft but this looks much more like my kind of flying! no ATC much more freedom. Ive been wimping out because i always think flying these kinds of craft is high risk but with a built in parachute im very interested in these and i weigh 150lbs so im guessing i could go quite far!

  • how much cost a swift?

  • They sure look like fun. Only I would spend a lot of time on the training hill and take it step by step and get familiar with all the do's and do not's first. But all the same they are an impressive feat of engineering.

  • I know what elevons and ruddervators are but I havn't found the litterature to describe what a Vortelon is or what it does. I sit like a vortex generator ?

  • They're "vortilons", google for the full story. The gist is they allow it to fly slower without stalling.

  • how are you able to gain altitude with little to no wind and no motor?

  • Soaring requires either vertically moving air or wind gradients. In these videos there is either thermal lift caused by uneven heating of the earth and then rising bubbles of air, or ridge lift which is wind deflected upward by an obstruction.

  • looks dangerous !

  • so with no fuels, u can gain alltitude and continue flying for long distances....landing whenever u want?
