I own a new 2012 Mustang 5.0 and my wife own a 2011 Lexus IS350. Her LEXUS is way lighter than my Mustang. Therefore, Lexus can easily beat the Mustang with or without Turbo. For Mustang guys or Corvette guys out there, if you want to race against Lexus, make sure you have Turbo or Nitro. Otherwise, it will be embarrass moment like me race my Mustang against my wife Lexus.

I love Muscle car, but they can't beat the Lexus. Damn Asian, they always have to beat us in everything!!!

What's with people saying it's a V6 Mustang? Did nobody see the GT badges on the back and the fenders? The 99-04 GT Mustangs are pretty slow. On average they seem to dyno between 220-230rwhp. That's nothing special so it's no surprise to beat one.

I imagine the unbalanced second order harmonic distortion of V8's interfere with the ability to make high rpms reliably because of the second order harmonic distortion. Yes they're low compression motors low rpm which thrive on boost, but no way a 6500-7000 rpm limit of a blown V8 can match the 10000 rpms seen in the 2JZ-GTE and RB26TT motors at full boost.

You are right, I am merely saying that the best of each is comparable from a strictly output based consideration independent of all other factors. I prefer aluminum block V8's for NA applications and because they're significantly less expensive than the costs are of boosting my IS, but something about that I6 engine note sounds like a jet engine.
