The other show was "The American Girls"----Rebecca and Amy are a pair of sexy young television reporters working for a respected "60 Minutes"-like newsmagazine. Receiving their story assignments from New York producer Francis Casey, the girls travel across the country in their specially equipped van solving crimes, reporting the news, and getting involved in the lives of others. Debra Clinger and Priscilla Barnes 1978
I remember that show fondly. It came on Friday nights. Did anyone else have a crush on Pat Klous? Kathryn Witt was on a local promo. I once saw a brief article in TV Guide that there were unaired episodes of this and some other cancelled series. Where's the DVD?
I'll never understand how this show flopped. There had to be thousands of dweebs like me who couldn't get dates on Friday nights watching and fantasizing!
I remember this show. Kind of a "Charlie's Angels" in comedy, playing stewardesses. One episode I never fully watched, involved "The Incredible Hulk". I had to go to bed early and missed it. Does anyone know about it and did Lou Ferrigno appear?
@14DaveHunter yes, it was a lot like "charlie's angels." i seem to remember there was yet another show from the 1977-1979 era that also focused on the adventures of 3 young women, but i can't remember the plot or the title. it may have run for only a couple of episodes though.
I remember watching this when I was like 6, I will never forget it because Connie Sellecca gave me one of my first woodies! The only episode I can remember is when the pilot pretended to be blind and tried to see one of the girls naked. But man that opening theme song is one of the worst I ever heard!
i looove this show! the girls look yummy and fun. did you notice that pat klous, connie sellecca and kathryn witt take turns being billed first? anyone out with a complete episode on tape that can be uploaded to the net? i especially like that one where connie had to emergency land a plane--probably the best ep of the lot!
I'm almost sure the final episode made it to #1 for the week, but it was still cancelled. There was last mintue hope of a renewal, but CBS nixed the idea. Also, I remember all their names from the show. Lisa Benton, Marcie Bowers and Pam Bellagio. I'm such a loser.
I remember watching "Flying High" after "The Incredible Hulk" on CBS. I liked it a lot. Wish it had lasted longer. It reminded me of "Charlie's Angels" in a way.
Oh my gosh! I've been waiting for someone to post this-thanx so much conniptions. I really appreciate. CBS should've given this a full season at least, as it was cancelled in Jan 1979. I think they reran episodes in the summer of '79 but I'm not for sure. Channel 11 WTTW here in Chicago was rerunning the 90 minute pilot movie twice around '86 or '87 and then WPWR CHANNEL 50 once in the early 90's. I taped it off from both airings aforementioned. ME tv needs to rerun this and "IT'S A LIVING"
Wow! I remember watching this show when I was younger. I haven't seen this probably since the show came on. Thanks for posting this it brought back some memories.
Thanks for posting this! For a show that only been on the air for only 5 eps, it's still stuck in me head. Kinda damned rare to see the regular opening credit! I'm afraid to ask where you got this.

I wonder where I could find this series to purchase or download. It was my favourite series, and the reason of why I became a flight attendant.

I loved the episode where the airline pilot faked blindness, and wanted the stewardesses to undress in front of him.

It was on the end of a U-matic tape from 1979 - all there is, is the teaser and the opening credits...
