The 100 ton 3 bay coal car is a complete enclosed sound system which is battery operated and the chuff is triggered by a reed switch on wheel. It uses a phoenix sound card that can be reprogrammed to sound like other steam or diesel loco's
AristoCraft and the speaker is mounted at one end toward back of loco so sound seams to come from engine. I also have an auxilary R/C reciever to trigger horn and bell.
I run the live steam Daylight 4449 locomotive and the ten passenger cars. It has burner problems though. :( anyway great vid 5*****
