This girl is obviously good and will be great in the future BUT, why do you label this video "Vibraphone Cool", it is not a vibraphone, it is a marimba. And a good one at that. :-)
I stand corrected, vibraphone has metal keys and a sustain/vibrato effect. Both the marimba and xylophone have wood keys, but is it a marimba instead of a xylophone because of it's higher register, or physical size?
Good question for the uninformed. It is a marimba because of the complete range which includes a high register (that xylophone has) a middle range (which the vibes have) and a lower range which only the marimba has. Also involved is the texture of the sounded notes. So for starters, there you have it.
The xylophone I have goes to the top C that sits on the 5th leger line above the staff. My marimba doesn't though. It only goes up to an octave below that.
I believe has something to do with the xylo being an octavian/octave (I don't know the actual word for it) instrument where the sound it produces is actually an octave than what is played.
I said "included" not "as high as". My answer was not a course in instruments but rather some good general info for starters, as I said. Please feel free to fill in all the exact technical data if you like. :-)
My Marimba actually goes to the next C (sits on top of the 5th leger line) and when I play that note on my marimba and then the top note on my xylo the xylo is definitely higher. I think I just confused myself lol :P
haha! we've all been tanaka-rolled! well played.
and "two movements for marimba" well performed, as well!

sounds too harsh throughout, relaxing is definitely not the word of choice for this performance
