  • woah it is sooooo pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome typhoon.

  • Great video :)

If only the time interval were shorter the resulting video would be much smoother. I think 5 seconds would've been perfect.

  • very nice music

  • thae eye of the typhoon is at 3:09...

  • Holy Shit. Hong Kong looks pretty as a mother fucker at night.

  • i like how the boats keep on operating

  • Beautiful city.. I want to go back!!!

  • Thanks! Cool!!!

  • Why does it look like a normal monsoon day to me?

  • must of not been that strong. if boats are able to go around like they did.

  • c'est vraiment trés beau !! bravo :)

  • Great video, beautiful view of the harbor in Hong Kong. What camera did you use to record this? I used to have a Nikon p80 which could do time lapse photography but alas it is gone now.

  • what a beautiful city....

  • Thank you, such a wonderful video record of time not only feel it but see it. I wonder if you make another video to show us your setup so we may duplicate other equally wonderful moments for all of us. Thanks again for the nice video.

  • 0:04 Look at that big ass boat drifting. Thats all they do over there is Drift EVERYTHING!

  • @RamereW

haha, that was the first thing i noticed..

  • Nice time-lapse movie! smooth! Do you know you can make time-lpase movies with any camera with this device: (copy address to browser): tempusALL.bymac.org

  • i adore dax johnson with all fires burning in me.

  • ... i feel like my life is going this fast...

  • Is that from the peak?

  • Amazing footage !!! Would love to see more of these if thats possible !

  • true soundtrack to video = "cold as ice" by cgrif on soundcloud

  • I couldnt help but focus on that blinking thing in the right corner.. what is that?

  • @YouKnowWhoDK Its a advertising screen. They fixed it on that day and for testing switched it on and off all the time.

  • @YouKnowWhoDK

    Morse code obviously ;)

    lmao

  • This is a wonderful video !

  • wat is the strange flash in the buldding in down right

  • @abdogeady its just the logo of whatever company owns the building flashing

  • That was pretty amazing, it was interesting to see the down pour of rain rolling in from the right side then continue to the left. also so the time of when it was dawn and the city lights began to switch on! but the poor hong kong citizens geting drenched

  • hong kong is beautiful at nigh! wow, my boyfriend is in Okinawa in the navy n they're getting hit by a typhoon now =/

  • the real part of storm begins 1.48

  • 師兄好利害,拍左咁長時間,重要係颱風時候~~

your video awesome and your music too

  • I miss Hong Kong so much! Got all teary-eyed watching this! :'(

There really is no place quite like it...

    x

  • @tokyoahead consider putting in a song called "everyday" by carly comando in here...it's exactly as long as the video and is a good timelapse piece. Click on the one performed by Miguel Angel Barca, because that's faster.

  • i miss hong kong.....

  • LMFAO @ the boats at 0:50, after the first rain wall they just start high-tailing it back to port

  • Why was there still boats out that late at night ?

  • Wow. God must have taken a huge crap to have had his toilet overflow that much...

  • 4:32 to 4:50, glorious

  • Man...so much weather for one day. I loved when it turned into night.

  • I absolutely love the pianist. How I wish I could play like him. Amazing video by the way. Really beautiful.

  • Wow, Hong Kong view in the night is really awesome!

  • now this is dedication

  • How spectacular it looks at 0:53 when the rain begins to pour across the city and the harbor!

  • awsome video!

  • Great footage but the typhoon wasnt very strong it just looked like waves of rain bands. they must not of gotten the harder part of the storm if it was strong at all. Too many boats on the water usually in hurricanes the water is too turbulent to cruise on. still very pretty to watch.

  • Absolutely stunning footage!!

  • 0:55 how well does the song go with the images!!

  • Im glad it was not a retard song.

  • Very nice. Thanks for posting this.

  • I was in Hong Kong this summer just loved the weather will rain for a few minutes and the sun will comeback out. Here in Vancouver if it rains it most likely stays for weeks

  • Cool

  • this is from PEAK isn't it??

  • 3:49 is that the eye

  • @RicharD40 No, the eye did not pass directly above the city.

  • @tokyoahead

How many times per season is Hong Kong hit?

  • amazing

  • Beautiful city I love how its skyline always looks good in any conditions rain or shine

  • Такая хуета этот Гандонг))

  • Amazing ! Thank you.

  • !!!!!!!!! Just perfect!!!!!

  • thank you

    your brilliant in doing this

  • @silentfades Thanks!!

  • @silentfades it only becomes good at about 2:00

  • I LOVE this song ... what is it called ?? And who is it by ??

  • @ilovedlj Music Artist: Dax Johnson

    Song: Greysen - Slow Beginning

(it's in the description by the way)

  • see the typhoon passing Hk

  • where can I find the music sheets for this? =D

  • @kittyoyoyo you can try here: daxjohnson com

  • Beautiful composition:)

  • Amazing.

  • I've used the Canon TC-80N3 remote control to trigger the camera. It's nice and small and portable.

I also use Adobe Premiere Pro which has a rate stretch tool that lets you adjust the length of your clips to the length of the song. Also has titling.

At 30fps, I get one frame every 5 seconds. Am I calculating something wrong? What did you put the video together with?

  • @BillAntalek I used photolapse and made it with 15 pictures per second

  • I miss hong kong : (

  • @killerpunk6

    me, too

  • amazing - where were you located? on a building ?? ...and curious can a 500d do this...

  • @reviveramesh Yes this is from a building on a mountain. I am not sure if you can do it on a 500D, you have to check yor Canon Software if there is a remote shooting option. You have to connect it to the PC and use the software to press the shutter. There is an interval shooting function in the software for 50D.

  • Quite amazing. I love that fact that the city never sleep ^-^ LOVE HK!

  • @umbrellatools ...it seriously isnt. if you live in the right place.

  • The music was critical in making this video so enjoyable.

BUT, this doesn't seem all that dangerous. There were still people out in boats all the way through (stupidity explains some of them, but I doubt all of them).

    Then again, I haven't ever been in a typhoon/hurricane ;P

  • @MT443 Hong Kong people don't stop working until they are blown off the boat. This typhoon had 75km/h winds. It's certainly not the same as some others with 200km/h+ winds, but still stronger than "just some storm". Once there is a certain windspeed, the hong kong gov. gives out a warning and everyone goes home.

  • @tokyoahead Thank you for the polite and informative reply.

  • yo is this real?

  • very interesting..... thanks for uploading !

  • Wow. Interesting, I almost can follow the typhoon position..:)

  • Hello, this is great time-lapse video!!!

  • how many seconds between each photo? thanks!

  • @givemesomerock 1 image every 10 sec

  • sorry i see now the description, i've got a eos 550d, did you impost the image quality on S (i don't know if the quality mode it's the same on 50d and 550d)

did it took a lot of time to make the video (i think that my pc will implode if i try to make something so big, 5gb!)

    thanks

  • @givemesomerock I shot in RAW format, full resolution. I used lightroom to convert into JPG. The video software that I used (photolapse) only assembled the images and does not take a lot of resources, so it was no problem.

  • @tokyoahead thanks a lot, i'm planing to make a timelaps too...

  • how did you set ur camera to do a timelapse like this, i have a 50d as well, and i'm wondering how to do this....are you constantly shooting photos every 30 sec. ??? however this looks totally amazing great job! (teach me how to do this plase)

  • @Fadeinfilms check my website uncovery net, there is a link on the right bar under the header "pages" saying "Photography – Time lapse Videos"

  • oh i miss my hometown, i live in the U.S. but i love my homeciity!

  • Fascinating! Thumbs up & favorite. Thank you very much for sharing.

  • Nice.

  • Doesn't look like a typhoon at all, all I saw was a bunch of showers and not much more really :S

  • @hairesonyourchest well thats what a typhoon is. It's not a tornado that you can see like a hose going up into the sky.

  • @tokyoahead Really? Then we here in england seem to get typhoons everyday day practically.

  • @hairesonyourchest yeah except for the fact that you do not have windspeeds of 75km/h (like this one) or up to 130km/h and more rain per minute than any drainage system the UK could ever take. That Typhoon killed 6 people and 11 are missing, all typhoons killed in 2009 more than 2000 people. Just because it looks like normal rain from a window does not mean you want to stand outside when it is happening.

  • @hairesonyourchest Sorry if im coming across as an asshole I was just unsure on what a typhoon is, thanks for the replies :)

  • @hairesonyourchest no problem, happy to clear it up! There are huge underground caverns in Hong Kong to take the rainwater, all subway entries go up 3 steps first so the water does not go down and in Kuala Lumpur they have a whole underground highway that they can empty from traffic and then flood with water to get it away from the surface... it's quite scary if you think what could happen if they did not have that stuff...

  • @hairesonyourchest Typhoons are only in tropical areas. you guys just practically get rain xp

  • wat is a typhoon exactly?

  • @lakota246 Try Wikipedia!

  • @lakota246 rain, wind, more rain, alot more wind, flying trees, big waves, clouds, flooded streets

  • @lakota246 a typhoon is a hurricane but it is just another name for it usually in hong kong and taiwan

  • strong wind shear : (

  • Amazing good time lapse video of the moving clouds - enjoyed it very much in HD quality !!!

  • Beautiful. I would have watched the whole thing in real time too. ...and wouldn't want to close my eyes ever with a view like that.

  • hong kong, baby! best place in asia!

  • @guguigugu too expemsive

  • @faszika is there anything in the world that's good and not expensive?

  • @guguigugu everything is free. and soon when our sick twisted "civilization" goes bye bye it shall be free again.

    its all in your head

  • @faszika we live here and now, and we have to deal with it, there's no point trying to live in another world.

  • @guguigugu then suffer

  • @faszika that doesn't make any sense. who said anything about suffering?

  • Looks more like an El Nino winter storm than a typhoon.

  • @LaserDarkDX yeah it's not the most violent. it passed some distance aside hong kong. but if it would strike directly you would not see anything on the video since it would be grey in grey all the time.

  • Wonderful video. I'm trying to take video of moving clouds too. My camera does not have time lapse function. I just take video with normal speed and edit afterwards. Turn the speed to 20X. It seems the movement is more smooth.

  • @videohknt yeah that method is probably better, you have more pictures to make a video from than me.

  • This really is quite beautiful. The music fits in very well. 10/10 :).

  • lightnings ?

    amazing otherwise

  • @faszika lightnings are too short to be seen in timelapse.

  • @faszika there were no lightenings during that day. at least I did not see any.

  • I enjoyed the video. So are you a fan of Dax Johnson?

  • @WorldWormStudios I just came across him when searching a song for this video. This song is in the library of music titles in youtube.

  • @WorldWormStudios I just found the music here in the youtube list of free background songs and liked it. Never heard of him before.

  • please make a screensaver ^:)^ i would pay for it

  • boring.... another timelapse with dramatic music. repeat repeat repeat. someone show some creativity and stop the copycat crap

  • Wow wow wow awesome I have been to H-K few times and I enjoyed this city, to see it in that way is astonishing, thanks to have share

    From Al Montreal quebec Canada

  • I Lived There!!

  • amazing !

    I love it.
