no, sorry guys. All I'm saying is that I learned to play this song and its more than perfect. A good song doesnt have to be complicated to be great and I'll stand by the fact that DK is one of the nicest people I've ever met. Great people, great music. Nuff said.
So here's a success story... musical idiot (self-taught) and I pieced this bad boy together on guitar. Also got to meet Dustin a week before I learned this song and he's honestly one of the nicest human beings on earth.
@AlexDownham could also be 4/4 using triplets... it is the same as 6/8 just a different look at it because it is easy to count back to 4/4 counted like. one and a two and a three and a four and a ect or one trip-let two trip-let three trip-let four trip-let ect.
@cheesecakeisgood8237 im not sure what context this is in but the song is in a 3/4 timing i think, if thats what your saying then i agree.... ...what?
i always think of atari when i think of this song, because atari released atari anthology which allowed you to play there greatest games on xbox and ps2..... ohh gawd im such a nerd
@Caesaro An anthology is a collection of works by one author. So far, I've pinned down parts of Trust, Silhouette, The Weight, Atlantic, and Hold Fast Hope. :) The fact that it combines so many old lyrics yet still all flows together is amazing. Isn't Thrice awesome?
@hmrgoodman Just missing The Whaler (north wind) and In Years to Come, according to Kensrue, the Hold fast Hope one wasnt conscience, I also thought "I know you" might be Like Moths to the Flame
@paulsilence I understand what you mean. Artists change, people change, and sometimes we grow apart. While I love this song, I know it's not going to strike everyone the same way. Thanks for giving the new album a try.
It's sad that I get nothing from Thrice's music anymore. Not trying to flame, just stating opinion. I didn't like Beggars, although I bought it and gave it a shot. Won't be buying this one.
I'm so glad my friend told me about this band. Really good music. Although I have not heard all of their songs yet, anyone want to suggested any to me?:)
@JohnJohn6999 I would suggest The Alchemy Index albums. and Vhessiu is great. All their stuff is awesome but in my opinion Vhessiu and Alchemy Index: Water are my favorite.
@JohnJohn6999 Boy you got a LONG way to go back. Seriously. I don't care what your music taste is, but go back to the very beginning of their discography(thrashy/metal/punk). Their progression as a band is something to be worshiped.
@1abisai you prejudice jerk. so what if im gay.. does that make me less of person??? how dare you. you are whats wrong with this country. Who are you to tell me who to love. i have never been soo offended. ps. i love vagina.
@ROOB33 dude its a word why dont you take it as a joke and stop being so serious. go back to emo music! ddnt realize people were so sensitive. you know what stick to the music you listen to.
@lyodd986. NJA is the mad note!!! AND they still dont sound like pussies. And really all of you guys a fucking retard.. why the fuck do you care what i think.. i clearly have no investment in the dog shit Thrice comes out with. and my opinion should mean ZERO!!!! but for some reason it does. its clear your life is empty. and yes i makes me happy that i can get a rise out of you.

please! i dont give a shit what they did to this song, or any song they did after "artist in the Ambulance". yeah bands have to evolve and grow, but they dont have to sound like pussies. Prime examples GlassJAw and Everytime I Die. Different from what they were, but stil not lame. so how about you tell you tell thrice to grow a pair and stop trying to make radio friendly songs!!!
1professorMcG All im saying is they were a fun band to see and listen to. Now not so much anymore. NOTHING they do has any edge. Im not trying to be mean, BUT 1professorMcG, i do want you to go fuck yourself. and keep listening what these pussies have become!!! dick face!!!
@ROOB33 If you don't like it then don't listen to it, clearly you haven't matured and grown with the music like most of us have and you're stuck back on the old albums, which are still good. All of their music they've made is incredible and some of the most creative and inspiring songs out there. I'm sure you don't even know exactly what they did with with this song to make it so creative... So YOU can go fuck yourself, and stay the immature sad excuse for a life you will probably always be.

they should change their name. cus they arent NOTHING like the fun band they used to be. Everything is this sad bastard shit. ahla kings of leon. which is fine for kings of leon. But what happened to the band the wrote "that hideous stength."
@ROOB33 Shut up. You're an idiot. This is a great song; probably my favourite off the record. Very inspiring song, and Dustin's vocals are fantastic. Bands grow up and mature. You cannot expect them to put out the same CD everytime. They're an incredible band with an immense amount of talent. Just because you cannot appreciate it doesn't mean the rest of us won't. Go listen to some crappy screamo crap or something. This is real music.
@irsic same! 14 and angsty, there music just put into words and sounds how i felt, and then when alchemy came out I had changed and it was so great to rediscover them with their new sounds that once again were exactly what i had been looking for.
I love the lyrics to this song. I like how they took lyrics from their older albums and put it into an anthology. It's particular significant since its been 10 years since Identity Crisis was released.
Love these backing guitars at the very beginning before he starts singing, not the repetitive high notes. I may not like all the songs this band makes but I can appreciate it for the music and inspiration I can draw from it...why cant people just listen to listen.
Great song. I wonder if they had any influence from Circa Survive's "Living Together" with the guitar in the chorus of this song?

If anyone hasn't noticed yet, this song is a tribute of sorts to previous songs. Consider the title. That's why you hear lyrics from other songs :]

That guitar riff that plays after "Oh, and I know you" is slightly reminiscent of Illusion of Safety to me....anyone else think so?

This song is very reminiscent of the music of The Beautiful Mistake, which I like.
