This is stupid. Clean from the top down-damn. And use scrubbing bubbles or some crap, which kills 99.9% germs and use it on the whole toilet. You don't need 500 different products.

I disagree with her. You should force flush the toilet, getting as much water out as possible. Then the disinfectant can cover the entire bowl. If water is in the bowl, the cleaner will dissolve and not stick to the sides.
@julius923 this is ridiculous. what if she cuts herself and gets a disease because she did not use gloves. and all the chemicals that will go into her skin. she is a PROFESSIONAL cleaner. she cleans in other peoples houses and several hours per day. she needs to protect her hands.
@Bergkristall Yes, I was kidding. She should absolutely use gloves, especially if she's cleaning professionally. Personally I would also wear an organic breathing apparatus with all of the chemicals as well. A scuba diving suit with an oxygen tank might be a little overboard though.

My cleaning company, Home and Business Cleaning NW, IS way more efficient and way more "green" at cleaning toilets than this lady is. I don't use dicardable paper towels let alone half a trees worth!
i clean my toilet opposite the way she does it i work from the tank to the bowl so i dont get cleaning products or possible germs back on the areas i've already cleaned.
I use paper towels as well and dispose after that use. I know it's not good to use up paper, but well, I have RA and am on medicines that lower my immune system, so I had to become super neurotic on germs :-{

Hahahahaha, I wish I can clean a bathroom with her, so I can show her How to clean. First the all, I unscrew the toilet seat to clean all the urine from that area, and is much easier to start from top to bottom, so you don't waste that mush paper towel. And Of course!!!!! I always use a toothbrush for the bottom of the toilet, the seat and the screws down there.
She is likely using all of those paper towels, because it's much healthier than using a cloth over and over, and just pushing bacteria around. I would rather use all those paper towels, than a dirty old bacteria filled cloth...
@retroisle Just read the manufacturers instructions on the disinfectant. Some disinfectants you just spray on and let it air dry and never wipe. They are all different.
Shouldn't she clean the rest of the toilet - lid, handle seat etc - first before she actually cleans the grotting bit in the toilet bowl. Not very hygienic to pass germs from the bowl to rest of toilet.
@amalau2825 That is a good tip. I was thinking of another one watching this video but it might be too detailed. When I clean, I was always taught not to mix chemicals. The all purpose cleaner and the disinfectant should be done separately.

I flush all the water out of the toilet, then put Lysol toilet bowl cleaner in the bowl. I let it sit there while I clean the rest of the bathroom. I spray the outside of the toilet with Dow bath cleaner and scrub the inside.

she could also have used borax and vinegar to clean the toilet. her "disinfectant" could also be lavendar essential oil, which has anti fungal and germ killing properties. I'd be wheezing with what- all she's using. I have asthma and I use four green things to clean my house: baking soda, salt, vinegar or lemon juice and tea tree or lavendar essential oil. don't waste your money on all those cleaners.
I think the video was great! Thanks. However, it may be a good idea to explain that mixing cleaning products can result in some very dangerous chemical reactions. I'm sure you know what you're doing but it could get nasty if someone uses different cleaners.

I think we should keep in mind that she's from a professional service and if you ever had anyone come out and clean regularly you'll notice they use a lot of paper towels. When I mentioned this I was told b/c they don't want to carry dirty towels around from house to house but when I gave them freedom to use my towels and my washer/ dyer instead of the paper products all was well. Also, when I do my own cleaning I just use a ton of rags.
@girlfromrome2 Occupational Health and Safety would suggest that she shouldn't be taking reusable cloths from house to house. It was made clear at the beginning of the series that this was learning "how to clean your house like a professional."

She uses so many products whoever sits on the toilet is risking an ass chemical burn Plain old simple LYSOL or pinesol will do the trick, it;s not rocket science. Search 4 urine stains hell you can smell them.
i'm not a professional, but i don't think you need to be to know how to clean..., waaay too many products, this ladies use of products need to be simplified, i use a spray bottle of clorox, and a spray bottle of my favorite cleaner diluted w/ water of course being careful not to mix it w/ my clorox, also when i clean the bathroom i use only one pair of gloves, clean the whole bathroom first and then clean the toilet if you are worried about spreading germs, which you should be,lastly the floor

The pine oil she is using is a great disinfectant anyway and can also be used in the mop water..
