notice the baits aren't attracting 100% of the ants (or even 20%)??? I had the same exact problem in the same place in my kitchen, albeit with far fewer ants than you have.
I added Terro baits to my plastic dome-house baits and suddenly 100% of the ants are feeding off the Terro baits. They're in a feeding frenzy over the Terro so I highly recommend the Terro over the plastic bait things.
I hate those ants!! They always infest our kitchen during the spring and this time those little pains got into my mice cage, and were harassing the mice!!!
@marijunhoney I'm no expert, but you could try a number of different things. My dad sprayed along the windows or something with some spray, which may have helped, though I'm not sure. Before that, we tried the ant traps (seen in the video - they're the black square things), but the ants kind of ignored those.
@marijunhoney (Continued) I think we got ants because we left food out or food residue and maybe some garbage, and the ants were attracted to that. It's probably a good preventative measure to lot leave things like that out.
@tubofbologna Thanks for the tip. Ants are already gone, though, although they did come back once more about two months later. Since then, I don't think we've had any problems.
The best ant poison of all time is the artificial sweetners "Nutrasweet" or Equate", pretty much anything that has "aspartame" in it will work. I had the same problem this last spring and nothing worked. I sprinkled some "Equate" on the counter and they started eating it, less than 24 hours later, they were all gone.
Interesting. I should have tried that. For the fire ants in the yard, we usually use Amdro, which I think works in a similar way (the ants think it's good food and take it to the queen, and sooner or later, they all die).
Terro!!! I never heard of this stuff till yesterday. A friend told me to buy it and I would not regret it. Terro poison is affordable (Walgreens) and worked after 24 hours for me! Less than $8 bucks! I used 10 Raid baits and 10 Combats...zilch, zero, & nothing. The ants used it as landmarks to get where they were going. I was supposed to put out 2-3 baits of Terro out. I put 12 out last night. By noon TODAY they are gone!!!!
@keyhano69 - SAME RESULTS !!! Terro rules! $3/bottle at Lowes. Unlike with the Raid and "Hot Shot" plastic dome house baits, 100% of the ants are flocking to and feeding off the Terro.
If I recall correctly, neither. They just kind of went away on their own. The traps might have worked a little bit, but basically, they weren't very effective - the ants just pretty much stayed away from them. About two months later, we had another ant invasion, but that time, my dad sprayed something, and so far, we haven't had anymore ant invasions.
back in my toronto apartment we had quite a few cockroaches. one time, i was gonna drink a cup of coca cola, and before i was about to finish the sip, i noticed there were dead roaches floating in it. will never forget that disgusting moment

Oh gawd. I have an ant infestation too, but they aren't the super tiny ones like you have there. They are a bit larger, but still a problem... :-(
Eternity4EvaStudios 8 months ago
Use a vacuum cleaner and suck them all up.

@JEMASCOLA Exactly they just ignore those traps. I hate to use raid because I have pets.

Use a flamethrower.
omgheispoopeww 2 years ago
If only I could do so without destroying the kitchen lol.
JEMASCOLA 2 years ago
We have the same infestation, and the ants usually will go out if we have leftovers covered on the kitchen table.
RAZRfreak 2 years ago
Yeah, the leftovers and residue is what brought about our ant problems, too. Hope your problem goes away.
JEMASCOLA 2 years ago
Woah, Do you know what they were after?

Not sure, but I think they showed up after we had some food sitting out.

May want to try doing a health & welfare on your kitchen. Ants don't find food that's not there to begin with.
