I know that... I know Meph isn't either.

If you've played this game, you'd notice that the song is in a way a weird summary of the plot for Shadow's Story:

Mephiles wants Shadow to join with him. Shad says no. Meph tries again. Shad says no. Meph gets mad, attacks him and tries to make him join. Shad says no, and Rouge backs him up.

The song is about a girl who can't take the hint that a guy doesn't want to leave his girl, for whatever reason.
