Hi! I am soo glad that there are alot more highland dancers than i thought!:) ur a really good dancer!!!:) i am learning hornpipe at the moment and was looking at this for help on the second half of the last step! I just cant get the timing right!!! D: thhanks, this has really helped!!:)
@randomflyingchickens hey there- to compare dancers, the judge looks at things like turnout, elevation, technique, and timing to determine who is the better dancer. Judging is subjective though- some judges put more emphasis on one thing than the other, and some find one dancer had more of said attribute than another dancer. Hope this helps :)
Did women dance the hornpipe in the 19th century? I can't find any videos on Youtube of men dancing the hornpipe, and I thought that in its hayday the hornpipe was danced principally by men.
i have never the 3rd step you did before but then again im from australia so its probably different. i like it though, plenty of extensions to do there.
aww thanks! good luck- keep practicing! :)

Very good!!!!! And I know lots of people who do that step! It's awesome!
And don't feel bad about your highcuts! I was a late starter (13) too and I did them for the first time in competition today
