  • Great guitar, and I absolutely loved your cover! I think I'll need to get a parlor guitar of my own sometime.

  • I always wanted a parlor. I gues my love for Jimmie Rogers coming through. Superb sound there, and you're a helluva singer. Twang on, Studio John!

  • @EbenezarGold

Thanks very much. Parlors are fun. Nice little "thinking" guitar. (-:

  • May I ask how much you paid for this guitar? I have a chance to buy a used one for $350. Never heard of them before, but it is a Parlor. I don't know what they cost new or how much an old one is worth.

  • @CareerPathways

....if you decide not to do that, please let me in on that amazing deal

  • you said it was affordable... how much did this guitar cost?

  • @andykins118118

I sent you a private message with all the details.

  • Hey John...I love how you called this a humble cover...bro I listened to the original and I really gotta say ...I like the cover you do better...you should try to get this on the radio...I think your voice is amazing and could sell records...your style is fantastic...wishin you all the best

  • Great job brother...thoroughly enjoyed this post!

  • great tune bro...Loved that !

  • @ItsaCapita9369

Thanks....It's a humble cover of an Edwin McCain tune off his "Lost in America" CD from 2006. It's a geat CD all the way through. Thanks very much. John

  • @ItsaCapita9369

Thanks very much. Very kind of you. It's a great little guitar. It's a great little thinking and noodling guitar. Thanks for making my Monday! John

  • hey dude, two questions...what strings do you put on? AND. do you think its good for playing gigs? thanks.

  • @harrywhoyou

    D'Addario EXP 12-53's

I have a K&K Pure Western Passive rig in mine (parts & labor cost about $135 - my luthier did the work) and it's a great gigging guitar. Sounds big as a house through a PA or through my Fishman Loudbox 100.

It's easy to travel with also.....great gigging guitar.

  • @studio1087 cheers buddy. i'm getting a less glamorous parlor guitar but none the less a good one, Washburn R314KK. so i'm hoping the 12-53's will fit. so would you recommend a lower gauge for parlor guitars?

  • @harrywhoyou

Those are nice guitars! Congrats! I would stay with 12's just because I like to vibrate the smaller body as much as possible. 11's on a little acoustic might sound thin. You could buy some D'Addario PB's or 80/20's in 11's just to try it. It will only cost you $5.00 to try. (Not so bad). Enjoy the Washburn! I have a Seagull Grand Parlor that I bought used for $180 and I bought a backpack for it. It's the campfire guitar......love it. You don't have to spend a ton.

  • Hello was wondering about your Larrivee Parlor guitar. They say it is a 24” scale neck and that would mean that the length of the neck from the nut to the twelfth fret would be only 12 inches. When you measure your guitar with a ruler is the playable area between the nut and the 12th fret only 12 inches in length?

    Thanks

  • @Sonar37

It's 12" from the nut to the 12th fret and 12" from the 12th fret to the saddle.

Shorter scale....very easy to play. Parlors are comfy little guitars.

  • @studio1087 Thanks for the quick reply! I am considering getting a parlor guitar from Larrivee but when I found out about the 12 frets and I did the scale length it seemed that 12 inches of playable neck would be really little and hard to play. On your video the parlor you own looks like it is a lot longer in the neck than just the 12 inches. I hate to ask but could you do a video holding up a ruler to the neck of your awesome little parlor?

  • @Sonar37 Private message sent!

  • Brother, I have sinned against you.... I have coveted your guitar! LOL!

  • @Firebird3509576

That's funny...thanks. Parlor Guitars sure are comfy. It seems odd to me that there are so few manufacturers who make a Parlor. Seagull makes the Grand. Larrivee has their Parlor. It's an odd little selection of manufacturers. Taylor has the GS Mini now but it's not a parlor. Parlors are great late night noodling guitars. Great for sitting and writing or thinking (I think).

    (-:

  • @studio1087

Man I love parlor guitars. They are so well balanced. Parlor guitars are certainly coming in to fashion again and more companies are making them now. There are tons of luthiers making parlor guitars, but not for the price of the Larrivee!

  • beautiful voice but for me.. the guitar sounds too agressive.. to much high tones hardly middletones.. no bass

  • @Pan3405

Thanks....I appreciate the comment. It's a pretty finger style guitar. I'm kind of hammering it in the video.

  • @studio1087 I listened again and i think that it is also possible that your microphone can't handle the middletones and bass.. Your voice anyway, deserves a good microphone!

  • @threetothebeach

    Thanks....you're very kind.

  • Thanks! It's a great little guitar. I really like Larrivee guitars.

  • that guitar is small, but it SINGS!!

  • Ow man! You're an amazing singer and player! DAMN!
