Great idea on the camo wrap for the trekking poles. I've been looking into getting a set of the ultra light Black Diamond poles, but they were all so reflective and non earth toned. That would fix that problem flawlessly. So thanks for the idea!
Roz, thank you, but you already answered me on this. Sorry if I commented twice or something, but I really do appreciate someone like you answering little old me AAAAAAWWWWW I feel special now, LOL. Take care my friend and you have a great day, one of your everlasting fans.
Just to let you know, NO I DO NOT THINK YOU COULD EVER BE A DORK, ok. Take care my friend, love the vid's and think of you as a friend here. Have a great day.
That's why I got Alpine CF model, much stealthier, although designed for high mountaineering. A friend of mine once asked some blokes from Black Diamond why is their stuff so shiny etc. so often. They said, that they don't like that either, but americans prefer to buy shiny things... I loled extensively upon hearing this.
@cynik45ACP haha, thx Cynik. Good info. I just got back from a bigger hiking jaunt and those Black Diamonds were hard-core outstanding. I'm really happy with them. Still want the camo tape on them though. ;)
Im with you Roz...I like earthy tones aswell. I liek to be able to stand still and have someone walk past and not even notice im there. Also great for animal watching as they mostly respond to noise and movement.
I'm sorry to hear about the accident, no accident here but I too love to use trekking poles. I'm also not fond of the graphics they put on back packs, trek poles, etc.. Hearing about my "but" was cool, thank you
Hey Roz; can you use those in the snow (w/ snow shoes)? I've been looking for a pair to use w/ my brand new snow shoes this winter... I got chickenpox my second week of Basic Training, got quarantined for a week in the hospital and had to start all over again! It sucked!!
@LV2daHilt Whoah, guess communicable diseases would have a good environment in the close quarters of boot camp! I'd guess you can use them in the snow. You know, the baskets on the bottom can unscrew and you can replace them with a larger basket for snow use. have fun! I'm ready for this summer to get over with. I love winter.
Down here in the flatlands of Florida I carry one trekking pole. Not so much for comfort, but for snakes. I can't tell you how many times I've had to hold down a cotton mouth or a pygmy rattler to get them out of my way. Countless times. Plus when the Banana Spiders make webs all over they're good at swashbuckling through the webs.
@IzzyJG99 Very smart, Izzy! I had read this comment and kept it in mind on my recent hiking trip. Tall grass alongside narrow paths. Yikes! I was diligent in keeping eye for snakes. I did see one too!
Cool video, Stealth Trekking Poles, like it. You could never look like a Dork. Good luck in the contest. Gonna check his channel out, Roz endorsed must be good. Take care and have a great day.
@Smith28Adventure Hi Smith, no I don't have experience with other brands but I just got back from a big trip and the BDs rocked! They took a tremendous amount of abuse and kept on impressing me. I have a newfound respect for them!
Oops...I might be guilty of the old "quick video" thing. Dam, I got pox on the first day of a week long island camping trip, was bad. No doctor, no medication, no bath. Just chicken pox, sand and a tent for a week.
@troy5690 OMgosh! What a bad deal, Troy! The US appproved a chickenpox vaccine so kids don't really get it anymore but, prior to like 10 years ago, mostly kids ~5 years old would get the pox. Is this the same in AU? Did you miss getting it as a kid like your peers? Sounds like Doggo never got them either as a kiddo...
I miss your videos
Where are you ?

@RoscoeBa Well after watching Doggo's chickenpox video I must say that what I had was just a rash compared to him. Thanks for the reply.
