  • a glass of wine and a cigar plus this masteripece equal LIFE

  • @mamafaka lol your like a classier version of all those people on rap songs talking bout smoking weed to the song

  • @airsoftftw1234567 smoking weed and listening to this isn't a bad idea.....

  • this tune inspires the creative side of my brain which is why i tend to put it on repeat when i'm writing. it takes me somewhere else. a distant place deep inside of myself and show me many layers of creativity that i rarely hear in todays music.

  • Since I heard it, I have played this song a million times.....

  • I heard this song when i was in college taking a class about jazz music, which is my favorite genre. this song is timeless as opposed to most music of our generation!

  • My heart always stop beating when I listen this...so beautiful.

  • @ThrashinPraslin lol like in that line "im blue without my green"

  • smoke a joint to this any day

  • CHECK MY CHANNEL got big bars coming soon gonna b big!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a beautifully sad peice of art that is.

  • I remember walking home on a really hot summer day, and it was eerily quiet on the streets, I had this playing on my ipod and it was awesome

  • this sounds like the background music to a 50's crime drama. absolutely beautiful music.

  • Must....resist....urge...to.............smoke.

  • you can start by listening to the rest of the songs on this album - All Blues, So What, Flamenco Sketches, Freddie Freeloader.

  • so beautiful. im young so i really don't know anything about jazz but if anyone could point me in the direction of songs similar to this, being slow and melodic and just straight up beautiful

  • @SiqDopeNasty Go check a song by Coleman Hawkins "Body And Soul " and check out Chet Baker as well....and Bill Evens (he plays the piano on this tune )....

  • @SiqDopeNasty Send me a message I'll link you to a lot of awesome stuff to get started with. In the meantime try searching "generique" by miles davis - that should get you hooked

  • @SiqDopeNasty listen to the Bill Evans trio, I recommend to start with Waltz for Debby... also listen to the album Someday my prince will come by Miles Davis

  • this song made me cry the other day, and im a dude

  • doesn't really need a lot of get the point across huh?

  • I feel at home when I listen to this...

  • @Lowellrefugee this whole ablum is like entering a temple... some sacred space... untouched by time, trends, fashions, etc. Love your comment here!

  • beautiful

  • This music... i'm in love ... that's exactly my emotions.. wonderful.. nice work Mr. Davis

  • After a tiring high school day and a bad chemistry exam this song is cure for me

  • 83 People must be listening to Lady Gaga....

  • el tintero hordatoj

  • Masterpiece

  • 0:00-5:38.

  • @sosjozsef that's the best part, isn't it?

  • @straaler5 Yes. My favourite song. This is not music, this is better. Sorry, I speak a little English.

  • This song says to me: there is beauty in pain.

  • this the best reading music

  • you have to be very stupid not to realize why people listen to david guetta.. to set things clear, i don't. to ones that don't understand... people don't listen it because of MUSIC itself, but because of dancing and having fun doing other stuff... you go to a club mainly to hang out and meet people. those artists still release their "works"(if you don't want to call it music) on CDs, so you may say that most people don't actually LISTEN to "music", just prepare for going out and having fun

  • @myusernaime you mean people listen to mainstream artists because huge record labels over power real musicians and artists? also these same record labels support sopa and pipa which will in turn give them control over "intellectual property" and take away many creative musician's ability to easily distribute their work? right okay that actually makes sense thanks

  • @myusernaime Well that's interesting, anyways, back to Miles Davis...............

  • @ForeverFD3S Didn't want to ruin this song by bringing up those stuff, but more people were mentioning some other artists than enjoying the music, so just wanted to set things clear.. enjoy miles ;)

  • @myusernaime But interestingly its a reflection that this era ppl can "have fun to" much less complex music which is sold by the media and sex. WHat happened to the fun of going into a jazz bar and having a drink?

  • @myusernaime Cool Story Bro :)

  • @myusernaime my friend, if they play this music in the club and i just happen to be there, i wouldn't give a damn about mingling with people and all. i would just close my eyes, tap to the music and have my whiskey. this is what i call, Beauty.

  • @myusernaime what does david guetta have to do with a miles davis song?

  • nvm! Im starting to like the trumpet...what a shift in opinion...

  • I just honestly dont like certain parts of the trumpet....it pierces through the beauty of the piano and basse's chillness. Miles forever a great musician though

  • i mean, im sixteen and i like it.

i like whitechapel and cannibal corpse too, good music is just good music.

    life goes on,

  • When I search for MD, the 1st thing that should come up should be Miles Davis, NOT Miley Cyrus!!

  • This one seems like it cries out for my soul!! Oh how it touches me.

  • @tonyflow730 no, your mama sucks miles' cock in hell.

  • @tonyflow730 no, your mama sucks she's so boring in bed

  • @tonyflow730 SHUT UP!! APPRECIATE INTELLIGENT MUSIC!!!

  • @tonyflow730 you r boring

  • Goosebumps from beginning to end...Thanks Miles.

  • 暮れなずむ年、今年のたたずまいを象徴するような古楽曲、時は流れる・・・・・マイルス・デイヴィス・・哀しきかな"Blue In Green" #jazzm

  • This Is real music. I am secretly a a great lover of jazz. I agree with the comment above, how can kids listen to most of the stuff they do today. I love Miles' music :)

  • Tengo 24 años y acabo de encontrarme a este personaje y su música. Tarde lo vine a conocer, pero como lo agradezco.

  • Classic!!!!

  • Im not sure what happened to me while I was listening to this, but I went some where I've never been. Thank you Keish, your my true sister. Ill love you always. - Te Te

  • What i hate is when people tries to explain him as experimental.

  • this what music is all about. the emotions it invokes, the thought it provokes. not some shitty beat or bass drop.

  • If you're ever so lucky, music will occasionally hit your soul. And you will recall certain moments in you're life, whether good or bad. Those moments that you carry with you every day. A time to reflect. God bless this sound we call music...

  • I cry everytime I hear this masterpiece. This trancends music, it is an illumantion of the soul, lonilness, love, passion, joy, and life....................................

  • miles davis was the grates jazz improve artist to ever live.

  • This has always been and always will be my favorite jazz song...

  • @sex0drugs0and0rock

That's because Rock comes from Jazz dude

Just try to imagine this, replace the Sax for a Electric Guitar and the piano for some Drums and Bass.

Sounds like a great solo, doesn't it?

  • I keep lookin' for that blue, Miles, I keep lookin' for that blue in the Green...it almost hurts

  • @GanoMaganza - You do understand that Miles can't ... hear you ... right? He's not likely, at this time, actually reading comments on Youtube. I mean, he's dead. You did know Miles was deceased, didn't you? If not, I ... offer my sincere condolences to you and, maybe more appropriately, to your family.

  • whatever mood i have i listen this song and i feel in peace with everything...over and over

  • simply perfect

  • 82 dislikes ? 82 deaf homersexuals I guess

  • Yes Miles! When you play, you sound like a Preacher!

  • This is a masterpiece! And i'm a Metal/Rock Lover. Great!

  • @sex0drugs0and0rock

    same here dood \m/

  • incredible to think that this was recorded 50+ years ago. Miles revolutionized jazz, in the sense that he came around when Bepop was exploding (charlie Parker, Dizzy, etc) and yet decided to play less notes, that held more meaning. his phrasing still remains unparalleled, and untouchable in my opinion. goosebumps every single time i listen to any song from this album. its a staple in any jazz addicts collection. it is our heroin.

  • i just love this song, just so relaxxing :D

  • Miles Davis(trumpet), John Coltrane(sax) and Bill Evans(piano), the greatest musicians i've ever heard, i'm maybe eighteen, but i don't understand why peoples are listening David Guetta or others shits like that.. THIS is the music.

  • @VgOops What an all-star line-up

  • @VgOops How are you "maybe" 18?

  • @VgOops Buddy, you're channel says you're 29 years old. Don't be trollin'

  • @adityavishwa hahaha

  • @VgOops yeahhh

  • @VgOops Doesn't it just sooth your soul, your troubled mind and the headache is no more.

  • @VgOops Good now go buy a trumpet or horn and learn for yourself ..it is a beautifull thang to listen to and play it as well !!! cheers

  • @VgOops I'm 26 and when I was 12 or 13 I'd listin to this recording everyday. I love this music too and it's amazing to think this entire album was improvised based off a few sketches of music written by Miles just before the recording started.

  • This reminds me of unity

  • when i hear this i think of Holden Caulfield meandering through the stark streets of New York city trying to find his way in life

  • Are there any other Miles albums that have a similar mood to this song ? I know In a Silent way is kind of similar in mood, just looking for some others. I find his discography intimidating. Or even other albums by other artist that have a similar vibe to this song?

  • @1331esplanade try Chet Baker and his balads, his playing is different but I think the meaning is very similar. Love em both!;-)

  • eh i dont wanna respond to that poem directly but i didnt dig the poem the song is still amazing htou

  • Kind of blue, Almost Blue. My blue mood in a blue time of my life.

  • @misscat824 I'm 17 and I like it. Maybe it because I like smooth music.

  • @DinoBoy31 What's with this tryin' to use "your age" to rationalize things! lol! If you genuinely like (and can relate to) this, then you have the life experience to do so. Maybe those came from this lifetime, maybe from another. Don't try to act all suprized at that last statement. If you genuinely like Miles/Coltrane/Monk/Mingus, this ain't your first time around :-)

  • @bourgeoisbrats I understand.

  • this makes me forget my cold feet

  • I listen to different stuff...Eminem, lady gaga, metallica even LMFAO... But this, I really find it hard to 'like', but i'm trying :p

honestly, i find this more unbearable than justin bieber LOL

  • @teralogic I wouldnt have liked this when I was 18. The older you get, the better your choice of music gets.

  • @teralogic I'm amused that your trolling isn't even working here.

  • @Beefforyou LOL everytime someone replies, i listen once more :P

  • @teralogic You don't need to like it, everyone's different. I just don't think I would be able to relate with a human being that cannot appreciate this.

  • LOL trumpet whatever... still unable to like it *even though I pretend to*...I've been trying so many times because it's so famous but WTF! How do you guys actually like this???

  • @teralogic it's just a great song i normaly listen to rap from 85-97' around that but honestly this is soo smooth & relaxed its laidback

  • @teralogic You're trollin' pretty hard. No biters eh?

  • @teralogic if you cant connect to it, dont try to, its not a bad thing, being a good musican can proudly say they dont like something

  • This trumpet that hurt your soul

  • Comment removed

  • ...back when blacks had artistic talent....wtf happened? Lol

  • @danielzeak Ignorant people like you is what happened... Talent's still there, you just gotta look for it.

  • im kinda blue..

  • Miles is an erudite character. His songs are erudite. I listen to this and feel. I just feel. I don't feel blue, I don't feel green; I feel everything. I feel wonderful. Nothing Miles wrote was banal. For a long time now, perhaps years, he has connected with me. To be honest I can't explain how I feel about his music, but I certainly can assure you, that without it, I would be lesser off!

  • GAWDDD. Amazing.

  • eternity seduced ...

  • amazing record , amazing song , love it ,

  • Greatest jazz number... I get high every time I hear this. (Without drugs )

  • Genius

  • Genius.

  • ...miles and miles to go before we sleep...

  • Awhh, my heart is liquefying

  • love jazz

  • this is a great piece. listen to nesby phips-blue and green he samples this and rips it i might add dont sleep

  • fells like drinking alone on a bar table in an old jazz bar, and thinking about my love

  • I love MILEZ 2 THA DAVIZ...!!!

  • That first wail of the trumpet just pierces into my soul every time

  • I listened to this while studying and literally stated crying in the middle of the library...

  • yawn....

  • Please tell me if this poem is any good: As I sit lonely, a silhouette in the orange Chicago city light, listening to jazz from a distant time, smoking a cigarette, the music caresses my usually numb mind, and sends me off into the dark abysses of my soul, studying and meditating on the monsters inside, and the autumn leaves gently shake, and my own destitute morality clings to eternal hope, and yet I sit alone in the Chicago darkness, feeling Kind of Blue
  • @keefwannabe93 cliche

  • @thoraxsabre I agree. My time would have been about 50 years ago

  • @keefwannabe93 usually numb mind - change. dark abysses - cliche. destitute morality?? eternal hope - chliche. otherwise ok.

  • @sprucetree49 So you dislike about 7/8 of the poem. The ones you dislike are actually the ones I'd probably change, were I to re-write it. However I don't plan too. My poetry has been getting better as I've been going along. Give me 5 years and I might actually be good. Everything I write right now I pretty much throw away. I wrote this on the spot just writing the way the song made me feel. The only poetry I've ever studied deeply is Ginsberg, which I hate now. So give me time.

  • @keefwannabe93 jus lettin u know u might not wanna post that on public sights or someone might steal it and take credit

  • @funkygy1 Come on. Who'd steal that?

  • @keefwannabe93 it's so cheesy and it's namedrops too much.

  • @keefwannabe93

On this pebble studded roof, the stars reacting for me. I sit loathing over the woman that left me so suddenly earlier today, closing my eyes i see light. My heart leaks out of my soul leaving me emotionless. Miles off in distant smoky club of my mind play'n soft muted brass flowing though the reality around me. The sound coming from the horn takes me away. Another placeno problems, no worries. I open my eyes to see the sparkling city, contently sighing.

  • I'm a middle class 47 year old with hip dysplasia and this song makes me smell burning toast.

  • This is genius.

  • makes u wanna stand under a light on a run down street corner........ classic indeed.

  • i'm 18 and damn this filles my heart with joy ..

  • Eh.....................I like it.

  • Bill Evans was a great piano player.
