Other than a few too many stock "yea-yea-yeas" and a couple of attempts at mariah-like high-note trills, this is very enjoyable and amazingly close to the album version.
I actually like the high notes lol. Even though they are Mariah-like high notes, you can still instantly tell that it's Celine who's singing. Love this woman.
Sure, anyone can tell it's Celine singing. But when she attempts those high trills a la Mariah, they don't work for her... in my opinion. I think Celine has always tried to emulate the English-language divas (esp. Whitney, whom Celine admires a lot), but gospel is not Celine's background so it sounds a bit off... still, a great song.
I like them as well. I'm a Mariah fan and I don't consider them to be only her domain. The thing is even though she's amazing Celine doesn't improvise as much as I'd like and as much as I think she can... but with those notes she is.

Celine is BY FAR the best singer that has ever lived! No other person has even come close. I do think that Mariah Carey should be recognised as a GREAT singer. But NO ONE is in Celine's league. She is in a universe all her own. Having said that.. I am a devout Christian so I call no one a "god" or "God" except my Creator/Savior.. but Celine is INDEED out of this world SCARY talented. Madonna is the highest grossing female artist of all time (meaning she has earned more money overall) but she isn't even in the top 3 for albums sold, at least if you consult the stats that her record label released. Mariah was the top selling female artist of all time, but she fell to Celine around 2002. Now Celine is the top selling female artist of all time with over 200 million albums sold.

They presented Mariah as having spent the most time at number one of any solo artist in history, which is certainly true. She is an incredible singer who has sold nearly as many records overall as Celine despite having released fewer albums. Still, Celine has sold more albums/singles overall.

Sure, anyone can tell it's Celine singing. But when she attempts those high trills a la Mariah, they don't work for her... in my opinion. I think Celine has always tried to emulate the English-language divas (esp. Whitney, whom Celine admires a lot), but gospel is not Celine's background so it sounds a bit off... still, a great song.
