It also encompasses the British Industrial Revoloution, which brought the world into the modern age....Any time period after the reign of Queen Victoria would be difficult for Total War as you have the invetion of flight, New tactics in warfare, and weapons of mass destruction. Yeah I ended up with much more territory than historically, and I was still learning game. lol George Washington died as a militia leader in Canada during an epic two phase battle during the French and Indian war. Oddly enough he would die of old age fighting Indians after defeating the British. If you like alternative fiction this is the game for you. Great video.

Actually, no.

You would'nt believe how MUCH WW1 still resembled the old school combat of battlefield line firing. It would make sense to leave that (but to add air force reinforcements and tanks next to the field artillery, just for spices). But naval combat would indeed change.
