If I remember correctly, the laserdisc dump of this game revealed one channel of audio with the flight of the game. The secondary audio channel was used for positional data, which revealed a data track much like a 1200 baud modem data track. If you ever get a dump of the laserdisc and get a chance, listen to the audio tracks. You'll see what I mean. It's pretty weird. Only reason I know this is I had a friend who had an LD player and these original games. Note the jet shadow at 02:29! :D
can i get the game disc been i have been looking for about 3 years to get this for the cab i have but the disc was scrathed and will only play a small amount of the game
Played the bombing option of this game more. i could not handle the pace of the canyon flying speed. I used to get aggrivated playing and stomp my foot on the floor of the sit in model and it would cause the disc to error "disc error stay put"
Most of the laserdisc games were crummy but I did like this one. It was very tough. Even then you could see this stuff wasn't the future of gaming, it was more of a gimmick.
Thank you for posting this!!!! i played this all the time when i was a kid and have not seen it for at least 20 years- so many happy memories come back:)
This game was expensive to play, but worth it! Fantastic graphics for the 1980s. The one I used to play was a sit down version, but sadly it was almost always "out of order". The laser disc seems to jump around too much. Freezing etc. I suppose that's new technology for you. Ahead of its time. Brings back great memories. Hope they bring it back on X360 or something. Thanks for Posting this!
i dont remember the tv ad for this, even know i pumped 1,000's of quarters in this machine. the tv ad you might have seen looks alot like this game. actually i seen the ad at the movies, b4 the movie started back then. looks alot like this, which you play a vcr tape for the background, and suction cupped red sensor went on the bottom right of the screen. wished i could think of that game. i was actually disappointed with it, after i bought it, but it resembled mach 3 alot. not sure the name?
@bone6966 that game system was called Action Max. It featured a light gun, the red suction cup light and the console. You get 1000 points for remembering that system!

I'm ashamed to say I never knew there were such games in the 80's... I was playing Atari back then ^_^

Impressive for 1983. The background is probably a digital video file, but still impressive.

@EendjeKwak
On the emulator, it's a digital video file. On the original arcade, it was a laserdisc providing the audio and background video.

@EendjeKwak this has better graphics than a ps3 lol

I think they actually used a mach 3 (sr71) footage. This was awesome! What ever happened to laserdisc?

Must be a multiplayer, because they suck at taking out the F15.

That's a game I'd love to play again. Let's see the bomber footage too since that's the one I liked.

Yup, 'big ol' cockpit . :/
There was an upright cabinet version too, which was also massive.

I remember this so well. The actual arcade cabinet was HUGE!
Great game. :)
