I wonder if you could find a small setup like this for a rifle scope for £40 - £50, recording and displaying but with a night mode. Then using a separate Infra red laser illuminator to get the best video up to 150 - 200 metres. This size camera and screen would mean that the user can handle the rifle by looking towards the scope unlike the NiteSite NS50. You would think the Chinese would have already tapped this big market. The technology is here, it just need to be built.

@arealgamerunv Definitely the Jumbo HD (or HD808#11) from Eletoponline on ebay. You've probably seen my review of this one. The KGB spy cam is also good - but just needs a wider angle lens.
10 minute clip only 600mb's? Formatting the card to fat instead of fat32 does that. Sandisk class 4 (4 mb's per second) cards are just enough for 720x480. Ya not being fair on the 1280x960 size. A class 6 (6mb's per second) sandisk or larger formatted as fat32 should be improve it a lot. Strange about only being usb1.

It's been 2 months, so you've probably purchased something already.
But for the others that read this: I've been using a battery powered video recorder, non-cycling memory, for some time, and it's pretty annoying keeping the battery charged and deleting the memory card.
I would highly suggest against this, as you will find yourself encountering low battery/full memory cards often.
Instead, look at techmoan's "HD 720P Car Camera Review" video. It's a great recorder for the car.
It's sad that the video quality isn't better cuz the idea of having a small lcd screen is great imo. Pretty much every device that has 1280x960(4:3 aspect ratio) is interpolated from VGA resolution. If they would just have kept the VGA rez and stable 30fps, it would have been a nice recording device.
I've been enjoying your videos. I'm looking for a small camera that has Motion Activation. I see this camera claims to have this feature. Some of the cameras I've looked at actually start recording at the first motion until the battery runs out. I'm looking for a camera that only records while there is motion. Do you know if the G200 does this? Thanks
With an LCD screen I'm surprised there's no setup menu to change the video recording resolution or to disable time stamping which is so badly needed with these 808 cameras.
Btw can this device playback video recordings made with the #3 camera since both use AVI motion jpeg compression??
@GaryXJ6 It's been a while since I did the review....but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't charge and record at the same time. Have you thought about the #11 HD808 camera that I reviewed recently...I know it doesn't have a screen, but the quality of the video is so much better than the G200 and it can record and charge at the same time.
@GaryXJ6 I regularly use a USB power pack from Kensington...not too sure if it gets 5hrs, but I imagine it would. I use it for charging my iPhone when I'm away from a power supply for a day, it fully charges it two times. I don't think there is too much to review with a USB power pack... I suggest just getting one from a reliable manufacturer.

I noticed in your previous review that you mentioned the comparative disk space occupied by the cameras, but you didn't relate that to resolution. Now you say this camera fails to deliver high-definition. Are you sure? I don't mean to contradict you, but it seems to me that higher definition should definitely use up more storage space (in the previous video) and, in this instance, it makes me wonder if there may have actually been an HD setting which you may have overlooked.
@Grroocx Watch my latest review to see a real HD camera. This camera is one of the many fake upscaled 640x480 cameras available. Remember we are dealing with the Chinese grey market here, where manufactures copy each others designs, misrepresent capabilities and come and go overnight. Its all part of the game.
Great Reviews. Have you had this camera apart yet? In your other mini-cam reviews it appears that some of them seem to use the same camera sensor. I just wonder if the lens assemblies could be interchangeable. If so, you might try taking the lens from the best of the lot, image-wise, and using it to replace the lens in this camera which has the most features. Perhaps even the whole sensor could be swapped to get better video quality from this camera.
I tought I found a perfect cam.. but no the video was really lame.. Also the battery sign at the top left of the screen was crazy.. it added one block when u changed the mode and when you started recording it took it out.. xP
They should make V2 of that with better video quality..
Also are you sure you havent got any rubbish piece from failed produktion at the factory ??? cause sometimes they sell those.. =/
@69QuickSilver91 It might happened, I worked with chinese stuff for some time and with some factories... And trust me they did actualy send to us (company), samples which didn't work properly. Like Two sim Mobile phone, when one Sim card didn't work properly.

@Sh012222 Wrong =) As you see they have different type of cams and processors. I would go for keychain. I choose it because it has best quality, overtaking all pen, lighter or other cam quality ;) Maybe spyglasses cam could compare with the keychain, Thouse to I guess are the best from that market.
@bobbywotsit Quicktime movie inspector gives the following info: FORMAT: 1281 x 960, Millions 8-bit Unsigned Integer, Mono, 24.000 kHz FPS 29.63 DATA RATE: 12.42 Mbit/s So the camera must be doing some kind of upscaling. For reference the results for the Key Chain are FORMAT: 1281 x 960, Millions 8-bit Unsigned Integer, Mono, 24.000 kHz FPS: 27.37 DATA RATE: 11.99 Mbit/s Just shows that 'HD' doesn't really mean anything. The G200's results are the same as the 'HD' SpyPen I reviewed.

@charliewt Good question. The truth is that they all just end up in a drawer, although this one may go back on Ebay. They are just an investment really though. Hopefully the number of people that click on the Youtube adverts will earn me enough money through google adsense to pay for the thing being reviewed. It's a hobby that pays for itself (sometimes).

All these Chinese cameras i think are made in the same factory in Shenzen. They just have different body designs.
