I am retro game too! The reason why I like retro more than modern is that first of all: The design of the retro consoles are so cool! Second of all: Cartridge are cooler than CD's. And thrid of all: It's sooo simple! I mean today we have to update our system every week or so! And we have menus and other stuff.... Back in the day it was just: Pop in the game pick up a SIMPLE controller and play! That's it.
